VH1 Hip Hop Honors: Style, Substance And The Dirty South

The VH1 Hip Hop Honors took place last night at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, and the evening was spent honoring not a person, but a place: The Dirty South. There’s a lot of talent bred below the Mason-Dixon line, and just about all of it took the stage last night. Honorees like 2 Live Crew (representing Miami) were as nasty as they wanted to be (right??) with their PG-13 projections on stage, but they weren’t the only ones providing shocking moments on stage (still not really sure we get get past Bone Crusher with no shirt on). There were also some stylish costume changes from Kelly Rowland and Keri Hilson and some interesting looks on the red carpet, including one die-hard Dirty South fan whose pants were just…wow. For a complete look at who wore what (and who took what off), check out our gallery below, and tune in to see the broadcast of the awards this Monday, June 7 at 9pm on VH1.
