Zach Braff’s new movie Wish I Was Here takes the meaning of independent film to a whole new level, thanks to the 46,520 fans on Kickstarter who provided $3.1 million for the project. At the Sundance premiere, the stars of the film were so excited by its success, they were already thinking about what future outlandish projects they might milk out of Kickstarter.
Our job creating this Worst-Dressed List is so much more difficult when every celebrity on the East Coast AND at Sundance is hiding their wild style impulses under puffy jackets. We are SO looking forward to the wackiness the Grammys will bring this Sunday. That’s not to say some our favorite risk-takers didn’t let us down — Kim Kardashian was in Paris again; need we say more? — plus there were a few golden (terrible) moments at the SAG Awards, the Producers Guild Awards and (sigh) in Erica Mena’s lobby.
When Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer hit the Screen Actors Guild Awards with half of her head shaved totally bald, Hollywood gasped in shock. And then those of us who are Hunger Games fans smiled, knowing she did it to play filmmaker Cressida in Mockingjay.) “I haven’t shaved off all my head of hair off, no,” Natalie told us back in October, assuring readers that Cressida’s look is “definitely an interesting interpretation of the reference in the book. I would like to think that people won’t be disappointed with the choices that we made.”
The look is seriously extreme, but let’s be honest –– it’s nothing new.
Celebrities use their hairstyle to make a statement, and lack of hair makes an even bigger one! A bald look is a bold look, and a number of famous folks have been rocking it since as far back as we can remember. In fact, it’s kind of weird to imagine them with a full head of tresses. But like most people, they too had fuzz on their head at one time or another, and we’ve got photos to prove it!
Is Elizabeth Vargas an alcoholic? Is Lupita Nyong’o mad that Emma Thompson photobombed her? Did Marvel move Ant-Man into Superman Vs. Batman‘s old release date?
Who’s replacing Seth Meyers on Saturday Night Live‘s Weekend Update? We find out why we wouldn’t get into a brawl with Gabourey Sidibe, and Aaron Eckhart lets fans know if he’s ready for a role in Gotham, a new TV show.
If there’s one network that has become a huge guilty pleasure, it’s Lifetime. The network continues to make movie safter movies that are must-see events. This weekend is no different with Christina Ricci starring in Lifetime’s version of Lizzie Borden, a woman accused and acquitted of the ax murders of her father and stepmother. Lizzie Borden Took an Ax has all the elements that make for a good Lifetime flick: drama, murder, brooding men, inappropriate relationships, mystery and intrigue. That’s what makes it such a perfect celebrity biopic. Like Anna Nicole Smith (Anna Nicole) and Elizabeth Taylor (Liz & Dick) before her, Lizzie joins a long list of celebs who got the Lifetime treatment. However, there are so many more that we want made!
Aaron Eckhart is battling the box office this weekend as a demon-killing version of Frankenstein’s Creature in I, Frankenstein. The film (one of our most anticipated movies of 2014) looks to be a massive rewrite of Mary Shelley‘s terrifying philosophical masterpiece. Not just because, you know, Frankenstein’s Creature is calling himself Frankenstein and battling gargoyles, but also because he’s freaking hot. Which led us to wonder, is Frankenstein’s Creature sexy? So, we went back through time and dredged up the hottest Frankensteins for your consideration.

Zach Braff and Kate Hudson play husband and wife in Wish I was Here quite believably. And, OK, we know they’re just friends, but when we caught up with them at the film’s Sundance premiere, we could swear there was some serious real life chemistry going on! Between their doe-eyed gazes and the way they’d chime in to finish each other’s thoughts, our inner matchmaker’s imagination was fired up. Should Matt Bellamy and Taylor Bagley (Zach’s model gf) be worried?
