How Bruno Mars and his band pulled off this look is beyond us. The singer and his musicians put on sunglasses and hot pink jackets with black lapels and detailing yesterday at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland. They looked pretty terrific — retro but not twee. They didn’t even clash with the pink carpet. Bruno picked up Best New Act, BTW. Note, Katy Perry. This is how you do awards show pink. Looking good, guys! Do you disagree? Let us know in the poll below.

One of Lady Gaga‘s gowns made it to the top five best-dressed list at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards held yesterday in Belfast, Ireland. What she wore during the show is a whole other deal. In pure Gaga style, the singer changed into multiple outfits, for her performance and for receiving her four awards. We’re not sure they qualify as clothing exactly. All we know is that at least two of her outfits reminded us of a dilophosaurus. Check out the gallery below for Gaga’s various styles.

Katy Perry never does anything by halves, does she? Here she is at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards that were held yesterday in Belfast, Ireland. Katy’s dressed in Jeremy Scott from head to toe, including those high-heeled spats. Sadly, she missed our list of the top five best-dressed celebrities at the event because all that pink is blinding us, although we do appreciate the vintage pinup girl hairstyle. Gurl, we love you, but this is far too Grease for us, and not in a good way. If you disagree with us, let us know in the poll below.
It was slim pickings out there. The MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 took place in Belfast, Ireland, yesterday, and the red carpet wasn’t exactly filled with the best fashion. Still, we’re quite happy with this list of best-dressed stars. And to our surprise, Lady Gaga is one of them. We agree that the blue-gray lipstick is a bit much for a normal person. But this is Gaga so it’s tame for her standards, right? More important, look at her dress. It’s almost architectural looking, as if it’s been created from flat silver cubes and way more interesting than what anyone else wore. She wins, period.
The rest of the shortlist includes Selena Gomez who looked beautiful in an ivory, ruffled Marchesa gown with a very sexy back. Irina Shayk wore emerald earrings and a dual-fabric gown with a thigh-high slit, and Hayden Panettiere rocked a Tibi black-and-white silk twill dress. Very French maid, but with a twist. Rounding off the list is Adam Lambert and God bless him for his sky-high quiff and bright blue shoes. Did we get our selection right? Feel free to tell us what you think in our comments section below.
