Nicole Kidman Honored At The New York Film Festival, Looks Twice As Nice

Nicole Kidman Honored At New York Film Festival

Nicole Kidman was the guest of honor at a gala put together in tribute of her at the 50th Annual New York Film Festival yesterday. For the occasion, the actress slipped into a red-and-black printed dress and matching red heels — both by one of her favorite go-to designer’s, L’Wren Scott — with a Roger Vivier clutch and a Fred Leighton bracelet. We think the dress is interesting on her and would have been even more so if she had worn contrast shoes with it. But she does, as usual, look pretty flawless and well put-together. This was her second wardrobe change for the day. She was at a press conference for her film The Paperboy earlier, with director Lee Daniels and co-star David Oyelowo, wearing the classic ensemble you see on the right comprising a grey Dior dress, L’Wren Scott heels and an Omega watch. Simple — a tad boring again — but this was a Q&A and she looked as appropriate as need be. The conference was an interesting one too, as it came to light that Kidman refused to use the word “n—” in the film, much to director Daniels’ surprise, which he re-convyed to the audience. Her response, in front of the listening crowd, was slightly curt, but it explained exactly why. She said, “I didn’t feel like it was right for the character. I have a son who’s African American and I just didn’t feel it was right. It wasn’t right.”
