Emmy Statements: Can You Guess The Celebrity Red Carpet Jewelry?

emmy-jewelry-main

We have mixed feelings about Sunday night’s Emmys — we’re generally happy about the winners, there were a few funny moments, and yeah, we cried a little too. But from a fashion perspective, our overall reaction was, “Meh.” Except when it came to the bold earrings, necklaces and boulder-size rings on some of the attendees. We imagine the carpet was crowded with bodyguards trailing million-dollar baubles on loan to the stars (we love imagining the heist in which someone pries a ring off Giuliana Rancic’s hand on live TV!). How well did you pay attention to the rocks and sparkles on your favorite celebs on Sunday night? Now’s your chance to test your knowledge, and get a closer look at these new jewelry trends.

First, who wore this tourmaline ring?

Merritt Wever, Best Emmy Speech Giver, Wasn’t Even That Nervous On Sunday

“Thanks so much. Thank you so much. I gotta go. Bye.” We’re pretty sure Outstanding Supporting Actress winner Merritt Wever will be forever remembered for her awesomely short acceptance speech at the Emmys on Sunday night. The actress has been amusing Nurse Jackie fans for years as enthusiastic nurse Zoey Barkow — enough for her to beat out such faves as Sofia Vergara and Jane Krakowski. And her charm has made her New Girl character Elizabeth a very credible rival of model CeCe’s for Schmidt’s heart. Before her big win, our own Kate Spencer talked to Merritt on the red carpet.

Anna Chlumsky, Carrie Preston, Other Celebs Just As Obsessed With Big TV Deaths As We Are

Sure, we were kinda bummed out by all the tributes going on at the Emmys last night (not as bummed as by the deaths themselves, mind you), but to be fair, we’ve been a little morbid ourselves lately. Between the dramatic deaths on Breaking Bad, True Blood, Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey alone, we’ve been spending a lot of our virtual ink here in mourning. That’s why when our own Kate Spencer hit the Emmy red carpet, she asked the stars if they were as shocked as we were by these big departures — and how they’d like their own characters to go out.

Emmys Exclusive: John Oliver Says What 80 Percent Of Attendees Are Thinking

It has not been an easy six weeks for Breaking Bad fans, what with the constant fear, stress-eating, and inability to concentrate on anything other than Walter White’s impending downfall come Sunday nights. Scheduling the Emmys during the penultimate episode was a bold move by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, as much of the show’s audience (and attendees) had Heisenberg’s blue on the brain. “I’m not saying I would rather be at home watching Breaking Bad, because it would be impolite, but I am implying it,” The Daily Show‘s John Oliver told us on the Emmys red carpet Sunday night.

Emmys Exclusive: Connie Britton’s “Dirty Little Secret” Will Surprise You

It’s tough being a mom in Hollywood. Sure, life is luxurious and cushioned by cash, but the constant obsession with “post-baby bodies” and the scrutiny over parenting is relentless at times. We caught up with the Emmy-nominated Connie Britton, beloved actress with perfect hair and mom to toddler Yoby, who had this to say about her experiences as a mom in the spotlight.

Emmys Exclusive: Sarah Hyland Says Vampire Academy Movie “Stays True To The Book”

Congrats, Vampire Academy fandom! Sarah Hyland is in love with you. We caught up with the Modern Family star at the Emmys, where she praised the uber-talented and committed fans of her upcoming film Vampire Academy, one of the next big YA book-to-movie adaptations. “They’re so amazing and supportive and the best fans,” she said. “And very, very talented with their fan art.”

What good is going to glitzy red carpet events if you don’t have a date to share it with? Most actors and actresses bring their spouses or significant others on their arm to help celebrate TVs biggest night, but that wasn’t mandatory! Some stars went with slightly less predictable choices for their dates.
