98 Degrees To Reunite For 1 Show: Here Are 10 Vintage Pics To Get You Excited

Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey and Justin Jeffre of 98 Degrees

Nick and Drew Lachey called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning to announce that 98 Degrees would be reuniting this summer … for just one show, on August 18 at the Summer Mixtape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Disappointed that it’s just for one show? Or, um, disappointed that this is 98 Degrees reuniting and not ‘NSYNC. Aw, these guys can’t catch a break, even more than a decade after they formed in the shadow of those other beloved boy bands. But then again, maybe it’s time to give the Lachey brothers, Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons another chance at your teen-girl screams. After all, they probably aren’t content to rest on their laurels, so they’ll be trying harder. And that Nick has aged quite nicely, wouldn’t you say? You keep making those movies, Justin Timberlake. Continue your mindmeld with the New Kids, Backstreet Boys, we’d like to celebrate the very hotness of the “Thank God I Found You” singers.

The 20 Best Photos Of The 20 Best Boy Bands Of The Past 20 Years

Is there anything in the world more beautiful than a boy band? The gel-heavy hairdos. The choreographed moves. The matching outfits (so often suits, so often made of leather). The cuddly, goofy photo ops. Being in a boy band isn’t just a job, it’s an art form. As someone who once cried in the middle of 40,000 screaming girls when Donnie Wahlberg sang “Cover Girl,” seeing them perform live can be a life-changing experience. (NKOTB 4ever.)

Our friends over at MTV are honoring this special species of man music with their Battle of the Boy Bands, and the final round of voting begins today. In honor of the competition we’ve selected the best photos of the best boy bands of the past 20 years for you to swoon/LOL/and getĀ nostalgicĀ over. Be sure to view the pics while listening to our boy band playlist, featuring some of our favorite boy band jams.

98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons Becomes A Male Stripper

We know what you’re thinking. The crazy news isn’t that 98 Degrees’ Jeff Timmons joined Chippendales as a male stripper; the crazy news is that it took him this long. While other alums of the boy band like Nick Lachey have gone onto become engaged to Vanesssa Minnillo, Timmons has quietly continued his music career. Timmons’ new album will drop in 2011, hopefully at the exact same time Jeff will be dropping it like it’s hot in the club.

The former boy band member will slip into the collar and cuffs, and out of everything else, for a four-week stint at the exotic dancing company’s Las Vegas location from May 12 to June 5. Dancing and flexing his abs for a bunch of screaming women shouldn’t be such a new experience for Timmons. Hopefully the chronic pole burn will be.
