Bradley Cooper Looks Like Every Other Guy When He Dances With A Woman: Sweaty And Awkward

Bradley Cooper is enormously tall, handsome and confident, with an Oscar nomination under his belt and the man hair version of Kim Kardashian’s butt (that is to say: ridiculously, comically huge). It seems he might just be super-human! And yet – all we needed to see were these photos of him dancing with actress Alice Eve at a BAFTAs after-party to knock him back down to regular guy status, like a werewolf when the moon disappears.

In the pics, which you can see in the gallery below, Bradley looks like every other dude-brah who’s ever danced too hard to “Hey Ya” at a wedding with a bridesmaid he just met – sweaty and flushed while attempting to flirt awkwardly. Is it possible this new vision of BCoops makes him even more charming?

10 Best-Dressed At The BAFTAs Include Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Chastain

10 Best-Dressed At 2013 BAFTA Awards

We’re fascinated by the BAFTAs for some strange reason. Maybe it’s because of our love for all things across the pond — like Victoria and David Beckham, the Royals and fish and chips. This year, the EE British Academy Film Awards (sounds more grand in full form, doesn’t it) took place at The Royal Opera House, today. Sunday, to be exact. We’re okay with the 10 best-dressed ladies on the red carpet. Were we expecting to be more in awe of the fashion? Sure. But that’s just our weekender buzz which always extends our expectations. Two stars floored is the most on this list and for totally different reasons other than being dressed awesomely. Jessica Chastain leads the way for finally getting it right. All right. As in, not even one element of her look wrong, as she normally does. She looked divine in her cobalt blue, architectural marvel of a Roland Mouret gown. Paired perfectly with Jimmy Choos and classy Harry Winston jewels. Then, there was Dame Helen Mirren, who we plain adore, and who rocked the red carpet with a pink bob. We repeat — she rocked it in a pink bob. She’s 67-years-old and she flippin’ ballered a look we couldn’t pull off. We’re loving her dove grey Nicholas Oakwell gown with the silver pashima, as well.

Anne Hathaway‘s Burberry column with the striking silver rivets all over the bodice looked fantastic. The hot pink lippie was an excellent touch, too. Marion Cotillard‘s sunshine Dior gown from Raf Simons’ Spring 2013 Couture collection could only have been pulled off by her. She wasn’t the only one in yellow. Andrea Riseborough took on Brit designer Vivivienne Westwood, wearing a saucy daffodil colored couture gown with ribbon detailing over the bodice which matched her ribbon Brian Atwood shoes. It made her look wonderfully hour-glassed, unlike Jennifer Lawrence who needs to be fed some hot stew or something. Does she still have pneumonia? The sport wore a lovely white Dior Haute Couture dress with Jimmy Choo shoes, Chopard jewelry and a Judith Leiber bag, but looked alarmingly skinny. There were also two semi-goth looks this evening. The goth element being added by black chantilly lace through Thandi Newton‘s Louis Vuitton and Amy Adams Elie Saab gowns, respectively. Alicia Vikander in a minimal Christian Dior mullet dress and Juno Temple in Stella McCartney complete the list. Have a look through the gallery for the full looks and tell us who your favorites are!

Watch: Quevenzhane Wallis Teaches Hollywood – And You! – How To Say Her Name

Quevenzhane Wallis is the youngest Oscar nominee ever in the Best Actress category, and the distinction is well earned. The actress’s performance in Beasts of the Southern Wild is raw and moving and will make you cry all the tears, until your tears cry tears. She’s also incredibly charming in interviews in a grounded, child-like way. She has yet to be turned into some child-star robot, and we have a hard time imagining her ever ending up as such.

One thing that’s stumped the adult reporters currently following her every move is how to pronounce her name. She schooled the press at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon on the proper way to say ‘Quevenzhane’ this week, and you can watch the video above to learn it too. But if it’s still too hard for you (and really, it shouldn’t be) she said people can just call her “Q.” Might we suggest “Q-dorable” as another option?

Watch: Anne Hathaway Humblebrags About Hanging Out With Steven Spielberg

Anne Hathaway‘s Oscar campaign has been the topic of much scrutiny over the past couple of months. She’s adorable and genuine! She’s cloying! She’s trying too hard! We’re being too hard on her for trying to hard! Ah the circle of life, Awards Season style. Regardless of your feelings about Hathaway’s schtick, it was out in full force at the Oscars Nominee Luncheon earlier this week. Anne charmed the press room with tales of hunt for an Oscar night-worthy gown, her Super Bowl eating habits, and being BFF with the director of every awesome movie ever made, ever.*

“I don’t know how to say this without sounding obnoxious,” said the actress, giggling. “But I’ve been hanging out with Steven Spielberg lately.”

Oh Anne – we’re eye-rolling and loving you all at once.

(*Except you, War Horse. You were kind of a snooze.)

Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Chastain Shake Up Red-Carpet Competition: Awards Season Style Points

Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain lead the week, according to our fashion panel

We’ll be honest, when we came up with the idea for this awards season Style Points race, we were envisioning a graph with much smoother lines. But now we realize that wouldn’t be as much fun as the crazy ups and downs Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence, Eddie RedmayneAmanda Seyfried, Bradley Cooper, Jessica Chastain and Kerry Washington have delivered,  in the eyes of our esteemed fashion panel. (Emma Stone has been a no-show lately; we may just drop her from the list!) This week, Yahoo! Entertainment New York bureau chief Breanne Heldman, Glamour’s online style editor Nikki Ogunnaike, and our own Ambika Muttoo and Sabrina Rojas Weiss evaluated the contestants’ Oscar nominee luncheon outfits (or, in the case of the non-nominees, outfits worn to other important events last week) and fell in love with Les Miz’s Redmayne all over again.

Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, More Give Us A Safe, Staid Red Carpet At Oscar Noms Luncheon

Fashion at the Oscars Nominees luncheon

The thing to to remember about the Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon is that it is a lunch, not an awards show. That compounded with the fact that it’s held in the afternoon should suffice to make it an elegant, low-key event, fashion-wise, right? Well, we’re not quite sure. This is still Hollywood. We’d like a tad more ritz to our “low-key” please. The luncheon took place yesterday at the Beverly Hilton, and the red carpet was a bit snooze-worthy. We’ll start with the floral brigade, where, surprisingly, Jessica Chastain fared far better than our style favorite, Amy Adams. Amy’s J. Mendel Spring 2013 collection long-sleeve, below-the-knee, chiffon frock totally swamped her. Even though the various purples of the dress were stunning, and it features a cut-out back, front the front, it ended up making her look mumsy. The fact that she wore block-like, nude Casadei platform pumps did not help her case.

View Photo Gallery

Jessica picked a larger, more vibrant print with her navy Erdem Pre-Fall 2013 sheath. She also wore nude heels, but hers were pointed Loboutin pumps, which although not ideal, were better than Amy’s. Moving on to the lighter shades, Helen Hunt‘s ruched pewter Dolce & Gabbana totally showed off her amazing figure. Sadly, the curse of the nude heel struck again, and this time it was a pair of chunky, strappy Jimmy Choos. What was even more sad was Jennifer Lawrence‘s white Chloe Spring 2013 dress, which did absolutely nothing for her. Shin-length and weirdly draped at the bodice, and paired with a ploddy black Casadei pumps, J.Law gave gorgeous face, but the rest of her her was baffling.

We’ll end with the good stuff. The two black looks of the afternoon were worn by beauties Anne Hathaway and Naomi Watts. Anne’s was a safe, yet elegant sleeveless sheath by The Row. We love that she lightened the look up with open-toe sandals and that pop of pink lippie, not to mention her lovely Jennifer Meyer bracelets and rings. We also loved Naomi’s textured black Valentino frock, especially with the Christian Louboutin Paulina pumps she chose to wear the appropriate, yet slightly whimsical outfit with. Have a click-over our gallery to see all the looks and who else attended the big event.

Fashion Report: Anne Hathaway, Lena Dunham And More Light Up The Directors Guild Of America Awards

Directors Guild Of Amerca Awards 2013

Before we say anything about the lovely actresses who attended the Directors Guild Of America Awards on Saturday night in Hollywood, we want to proclaim our love for Quvenzhane Wallis, who blows everyone else out of the water. This 9-year-old has so much style and personality that she floors us. Check her out in her custom-made David Meister hot-pink satin frock. And that bulldog bag. Best-dressed, for sure. Almost looking as good as Miss Q was Jennifer Garner, who’s really upping it in the style stakes these days. She looked lovely in a pure white Antonio Berardi Resort 2013 fitted dress, complemented with Cartier jewelry and a silver Ferragamo clutch and pumps of the same color and same brand. Berenice Bejo was slinky in a black and gold sequined, drop-waist Pre-Fall 2013 Louis Vuitton look. Her clutch and sandals were by LV too, and everything was tied together by her blood-red matte lipstick and side-swept curls.

Lena Dunham wore a custom, color-blocked, strapless Thakoon frock that would have been awesome (we love hot pink and orange together) had the fit been better. The back also had a sash which was on its way to becoming this cool obi-like, belt detailing. We wish they had committed to that and gone all the way. Because it all ended up looking a bit sloppy and we would’ve yanked her dress up all night, had we have been around her. Anne Hathaway wore a look we adored: a baroque-patterned Valentino Fall 2012 Couture dress that looked so fresh, yet edgy, yet feminine on her that we’re almost barfing with “Love me, Valentino, Love, me!” How adorable is her hair getting too? Do we wish she had worn something better than the Casedei heels she had on? Sure. But we don’t need to look at her feet because the face and dress make us happy. Have a look at the gallery to see the looks in full and to check out who else was there.

Bradley Cooper’s New Plan To Regain Sexiest Man Title And An Oscar

Visit NBCNews.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Bradley Cooper must be feeling the pressure to perform these days. It’s been months since he handed over his Sexiest Man in the World crown to Channing Tatum, and basically traded it in for an Oscar nomination. But once you have an “-iest” title, it’s really hard to go to just being a nominee (and face it, though WE love his performance in Silver Linings Playbook best of all, he’s up against Daniel Day Lewis). Meanwhile, he’s watching his much younger co-star Jennifer Lawrence grab all sorts of “sexiest” labels while also becoming a favorite to take home her own Oscar. So we think we understand why Bradley is stepping things up a bit in the PR department. And no, he’s not doing more interviews in French or talking about his uneven boobs on late-night shows. He’s getting all serious about his Silver Linings role as being very important for sufferers of mental illness.

On last night’s Hardball, he told Chris Matthews that people with bipolar disorder have told him, “I actually feel like this film sees who I am,” he said. “Because it’s heavily stigmatized. It’s not a very treatable disease. It’s a condition, that’s sort of, if we liken it to cancer, diagnosed at stage four. Well, that’s way too late. So hopefully, a movie like this will help it become, you know, [diagnosed] in the onset.”

Right after making that appearance, Cooper went to speak to 50 military vets after a screening of his film at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in D.C. And then this morning he was scheduled to speak about mental health at the Center for American Progress.

All this is while Jennifer Lawrence is doing shots of tequila backstage at Jimmy Kimmel Live and narrating for Piers Morgan how she lost her “pants” at the SAG Awards. Which is to say, is it necessary for Bradley to make the movie into something so serious? This is all reminding us a little too much of Robert Downey Jr.’s hierarchy of Oscar-bait disabilities in Tropic Thunder. Read more…
