The 15 Worst Dressed Celebs At The Billboard Music Awards

billboard

Sure, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber won a lot of awards at last night’s Billboard Music Awards. And yes, Miguel almost killed a woman by landing on her head. None of that matters though as much as how many celebrities showed up making fashion faux pas. Let’s just say that there was a lot of black, white and all wrong at last night’s Billboard Music Awards.

2011 Billboard Music Awards Showtime! Britney, Rihanna, Nicki! Together

The 2011 Billboard Music Awards held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, gave is some pretty awesome moments on air, even though the carpet fashion was lacking. We have to give props to Senor Chang Ken Jeong for having the ability to humiliate himself on stage for laughs! But everything anyone did at the show—including Beyonce performing a very sexy “Run the World (Girls)”—was overshadowed by Britney Spears. Brit-Brit had some help on stage in creating two incredibly memorable performances. The first was with Rihanna on a remix of S&M which kicked off the awards. The second was with Nicki Minaj on “Till The World Ends,” after Minaj sang “Super Bass.” Badass!

That was just the beginning. The Billboard stage saw the likes of U2, Neil Diamond, Mary J. Blige and cutie Justin Bieber (in a very Vegas-esque golden tux) come on. Bono and gang were on hand to receive the Touring award while Neil accepted the Billboard Icon award (he also sang “Sweet Caroline” and “America” before receiving the trophy). The Biebs won the Billboard.com Fan Favorite Award and the Top New Artist Award but how about that kiss with Selena Gomez, huh?

Ri-Ri took home the Radio Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year while Taylor Swift (in a trademark sparkly gown) accepted the Billboard 200 Artist of the Year and Country Artist of the Year. Beyonce was feted with a video montage that featured Barbra Streisand, Bono, Stevie Wonder and Michelle Obama while receiving the Billboard Millennium Award. Look here for a full list of Billboard award winners. And if you just want to take a look at some fun moments from the show, check out our gallery below.

2011 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Has More Misses Than Hits

Is it just us, or was the 2011 Billboard Music Awards red white carpet dull? The press room and the stage (obviously) had way more action! As far as we’re concerned, the carpet was all about Nicki Minaj‘s pink hair versus Rihanna‘s red! We love both, but we’re handing this one to Ri-Ri who was super streamlined in a spotless white suit. Gorgeous! We’re not going to get into Nicki’s powder blue whatchamaycallit of an outfit, or Ke$ha‘s, for that matter. We can’t make sense of either!

We’d also like to point out how our little sweetheart Selena Gomez—who shared a kiss with BF Justin Bieber later—seems to slipping in more and more skin every time we see her. Little by little, so people don’t freak out! Crafty… but we’re on to you, Gomez! She and Nicole Kidman had a particularly sweet red carpet photo op that you can see in our gallery below. Nas, Ne-Yo and Mary J. Blige in all her leonine glory all added a touch of glamor, but just not enough. Do you agree with us? Sound off in the comments section below!

Nicki Minaj To Perform At Ken Jeong-Hosted Billboard Music Awards

It’s been five years since they’ve done a TV broadcast of the Billboard Music Awards, which might be why they couldn’t get a bigger name than the admittedly awesome Ken Jeong (Community, The Hangover) to host the resurrected ceremony next month on ABC. But as far as musical acts go, the show isn’t hurting for celebs. Nicki Minaj and Cee-Lo have just been added to a line-up that already included Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.

Rihanna is up against Taylor Swift, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber for Top Artist at the ceremony, though there’s no word yet if the four not named Rihanna will actually be attending. But with Nicki on hand, we might not even miss Gaga when the show airs May 22nd.
