He already has enough children to put together an internationally beloved teen pop group and have a spare bass player, but Taylor Hanson is not done producing the next generation of Hansons just yet. “Natalie and I are so anxious to meet our fifth mini-Hanson. As are the four siblings at home who are counting the days to the arrival,” Hanson gushed to People. Hanson The Fifth will join siblings Ezra, Penelope, River and Viggo, as well as the four kids cranked out by uncles Isaac and Zac: James, Clark, Shepard and Junia Rose. Put them all together and that’s three, maybe even four infant indie bands! Let’s hope Baby #5 can play the keyboard; sometimes it skips a generation.
While it might seem like Hanson has released more offspring than singles in the past few years, the band is currently on a world-wide tour to promote their latest album Shout It Out, which debuted in 2011. Since their band started recorded their first album Boomerang before drummer Zac had celebrated his ninth birthday, it seems only fitting to start guessing their kids’ band name now. How do we feel about Hanson, Again? No, you’re right. “Viggo” is by far their most awesome name-based option.
Keri Russell was already sort of skirting the edge of the crazy celebrity baby name cliff with four-year-old son River Russell, but we’re not even sure what to think about the name of her new daughter. For a baby’s name, it just seems…slightly off. The Running Wilde star and her husband Shane Dreary welcomed little Willa Lou Dreary on December 27, her rep tells People. “Everyone’s happy and healthy,” Russell’s spokesperson says. Meanwhile…Willa? Lou? Willa Lou? It reminds us both of pop princess also-ran Willa Ford and a surly male busdriver at the same time. Then they top it off with the last name “Dreary”? They better hope baby girl has a sparkling personality, or else Willa’s probably going to end up someone’s kooky next door neighbor. Or a woman who’s constantly standing around the DMV. Or an old-timey ghost.
We all know he’s been busy hand-stenciling baby ducks on the wallpaper above the bassinet, but it’s still nice to hear Jay-Z take the time to gush with us about Beyonce’s pregnancy. “I’m excited! I think that is pretty easy,” Hova explained at his Shawn Carter Foundation charity carnival last night in New York. Hova then dropped 30,000 pink “It’s A Girl!” and blue “It’s A Boy” cigars out of a helicopter hovering over Midtown. Oh no, sorry, we were just looking into the future there for a second.
When asked whether the family would be roosting in Brooklyn however, Jay-Z went into Typical Dad Mode. “I have been thinking about it, but the prices over there are really high,” Jay-Z joked. “It’s not like before!” Yeah, that’s what our father would say too. Though to be fair, he isn’t one of the richest men in the continental United States, nor is he married to Beyonce, one of the wealthiest women. He wishes.

Wait a minute, Alyssa Milano’s baby friend just arrived this morning? We swear this woman had a medium-to-large baby bump back in February at the Hall Pass premiere! That kid must have come out with a full set of teeth and a mastery of the alphabet up to Q, not that we would expect anything less from an Alyssa Milano offspring.
People reports that Milano and husband David Bugliari welcomed son Milo Thomas Bugliari this morning at 9:37am. Alyssa Milano’s pregnancy went smoothly, according to the actress, who also gushed that her husband will be “the most amazing father ever” to the “biggest newborn on the planet” (note: that second quote is ours).
People is reporting that Maya Rudolph’s baby boy was born July 3, thus ending the Bridesmaids star’s 12-year-long pregnancy. At least, it sure seemed like it. Correct us if we’re wrong, but didn’t Maya appear just a tiny bit pregnant in the Bridesmaids movie itself? And then massively with child when the film was released in May? And has just this Independence Day weekend popped the kid out? A little while longer and it would have started to look like a ruse to cover up some sort of basketball-smuggling operation.
Rudolph and director husband Paul Thomas Anderson named the baby Jack, joining their two other normally-named children Pearl and Lucille. “The exciting part is not knowing who’s coming,” Maya told People during her pregnancy, about waiting to find out the sex of her child. “You have to wait nine months for a surprise, but then it’s a good payoff because it really is a surprise.” The even bigger surprise must have been when that kid came out able to talk and with a full set of teeth.
Congratulations to Alanis Morissette and her husband Mario “Souleye” Treadway on the birth of their new baby boy! The singer announced her pregnancy back in August and she finally gave birth on Christmas day. The baby’s name is Ever Imre Morissette-Treadway. While a Christmas day baby is wonderful, you just know that Canadian Morissette is bummed she couldn’t have held out one more day to have a Boxing Day baby instead.
No word on whether the singer used natural childbirth, or required a jagged little pill to get through the delivery. (Sorry about that one! We had to!)
