If you would like to share your sentiments about Bret with everyone who’ll be watching his Behind The Music episode, all you have to do is leave a comment below sometime before this special broadcast airs tomorrow night. We’ll be combing through all of the comments and picking a selection of them to run during the episode.
As always, everyone here in the VH1 and VH1 Classic family wishes Bret a speedy recovery.
Bret Michaels isn’t out of the woods just yet, but there is a bit of good news to share. US Magazine is reporting that while Michaels is still under observation in the Intensive Care Unit of an unnamed hospital, his condition has been upgraded from “critical” to “stable” condition. As you no doubt know, he has been hospitalized since suffering a massive brain hemorrhage last Friday.
After Bret Michaelssuffered a massive brain hemorrhage in the early morning hours last Friday, he spent the entire weekend under close medical surveillance in the Intensive Care Unit of a yet-to-be-disclosed hospital. According to his official Facebook page, doctors are currently running a battery of tests on Michaels in an attempt to ascertain the source of the bleeding, but his team would also like to remind Bret’s legions of fans that he “is, and always has been, a fighter and survivor and is under the best medical care possible.”
Meanwhile, Donald Trump is painting a slightly more worrisome picture, telling TMZ that his current Celebrity Apprentice contestant is in “big, big trouble” and that “the prognosis is not great.” However, Trump also seems confident that Michaels is an “amazing competitor and ultimately that is the thing that could save his life.” In a nice touch, NBC added a brief clip to the end of last night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice to remind viewers that “Everyone here at NBC wishes Bret Michaels a speedy recovery”; you can watch it below.
While Bret Michaels is still in critical condition after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage early Friday morning, TMZ is now reporting that his condition has stabilized and that he’s “awake, in good spirits and talking.” That said, he’s not out of the woods just yet; the report also emphasizes the how critical the next 24 to 48 hours will be to his possible recovery. We will continue to keep you posted on any developments with his condition as soon as we get them.
In the meantime, here is a selection of well-wishes that Bret’s fans have been leaving in the comment section of our site. If you have any words of encouragement that you would like to share, you can do so either in the previous post or below.
OMG! My prayers goes out to Bret and his family. I love his music and love watching him on anything he does and he is very inspiring to me because my mother and grandmother are diabetics and the disease is coming into play in my personal life as well. I wish him the best and fastest recovery possible!
People reports that Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after suffering a massive headache. There, doctors discovered the source of his pain was a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage. He is in critical condition. Says a source:
“After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation.”
There is no word on whether this is related to his very public fight with diabetes. Bret also underwent an appendectomy earlier this month.
We’ve been rooting for Bret for years on stage and on TV (even now, while watching him compete on The Celebrity Apprentice). Now we’re rooting for him in life, period. We truly hope that he can achieve a speedy recovery. [People]

Another day, another Smashgate story. After releasing a statement via his rep, Bret Michaels himself has put fingertips to keyboard to give his take on the accident that left him banged up and party-free. He’s got a sense of humor about it and everything (our favorite parts are bolded). Says Bret:
“I am trying to remain very positive and somewhat humorous about the whole situation. I apologize that I did not make a statement earlier as I have been feeling pretty beat up over the last few days. The fact is I was honored to be asked to perform at the event. The entire Rock of Ages production were awesome and even though I was completely out of my element I was really enjoying myself prior to my injury. In fact all involved at the awards show treated me good.
I had a great time at the Tonys right up until I got blindsided, I must admit it was a little blurry after that. In hindsight, there is no doubt I got my bell rung, unfortunately it has been posted and perhaps funny to watch, but I can assure you it has been painful to experience.
“With all due respect to everyone working the Tony Awards, somewhere down the line there was a lack of communication and the prop should have been immediately halted until Michaels was clear. Sunday morning at rehearsals, Bret was never informed that the descending set piece existed, let alone would be moving into position as he was exiting the stage.
Although Bret was visibly dazed, he remained extremely calm backstage as members of Poison’s road crew brought him a towel to wipe the blood from his face. His only comment at the time was, ‘What the hell just hit me?’ The severity of this injury is not being taken lightly as symptoms from head and neck injuries at first may seem like nothing and sometimes do not present for days. At this time, the full extent of his injuries remain to be seen until all X-rays are back…I find it surprising that a Tony spokesperson would brush off this incident with a comment stating, ‘Mr. Michaels missed his mark,’ with no mention of concern for his condition. If everyone at the Tonys were aware that Bret missed his mark, then they should have been aware enough to stop the set piece from hitting him or at least slowed it down until he cleared the stage. I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minneli, Dolly Parton or Elton John, the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern.” [BretMichaels.com via ONTD]
You may have read TMZ’s story regarding the “possible overdose” of Daisy of Love star Daisy De La Hoya. The official word is that it wasn’t an overdose, but exhaustion that Daisy suffered. Here’s VH1′s statement on the matter:
“Daisy was taken to an ER early Thursday morning suffering from exhaustion. There was no overdose. She is fine this evening and resting comfortably. No further details are being released at this time.”
