Anything to do with Scarlett Johansson and the words “bedroom” and “sexy” should be enough to start a stampede. Put them together, and watch out — shiz could start getting dangerous. Smart cookies that the folks at Dolce & Gabbana are, they cracked the formula. But it’s ScarJo who should be thanking their creative directors, and not us, because the new campaign featuring the actress has made her look better than she ever has. And that’s saying something right, considering this is Scarlett Johansson that we’re talking about. She shot the campaign for the brand’s “Perfectly Luminous” foundation last month in Sicily, apparently — you can see the full, gorgeous shot here. It features Scarlett, lying on her front, draped by a peach satin bed sheet, looking utterly stunning. We love the lightly tousled blond hair, the eyes that are cat-lined just so, strong eyebrows, the skin that looks like its been lit from within and of course that famous pout. It’s all perfectly natural, elegant and tasteful. This has officially taken over as our favorite shot from Scarlett’s Moet & Chandon champagne campaign. Dolce & Gabbana should totally release a “behind-the-scenes” video for this one. It would probably crash their website though!
The news ofKristen Stewart becoming the face of Balenciaga’s new fragrance “Florabotanica” was released back in June. The campaign shot released soon after and K.Stew killed it looking as high-fashion as they come, but still herself, if you catch our drift? The photograph stayed true to her image, and it wasn’t like looking at someone who had changed everything about themselves for an endorsement deal. This was all pre-Rupert Sanders-hook-up scandal, though and there was talk that Kristen had been dropped as the face of the brand because of all the negative publicity. She was absent for the video commercial, which is where people started talking even more. But The Cut published a story stating that the video was released a full week (July 19) before the scandal broke, so it wasn’t because she was having issues with her contract (they checked the time stamp on the video.) Balenciaga has silenced all those rumors themselves now by putting that advertisement you see above in the September issue of Elle Spain. Artfully black-and-white with a pop of color through the floral motif above her arm, Kristen’s striped top looks like its paying homage to the cap of the fragrance bottle, which is also striped. We love it! Do you?
The speculations about Lana Del Rey and her bouffant being the new face of H&M have been rife for the last couple of months. Well, now the news is well and truly confirmed since the first few shots of Lana as the brand’s new face have surfaced. Voila! The photograph you see above is the singer’s mug for the new H&M autumn campaign and it’s super retro. “The mood is very L.A. noir. It’s inspired by our fall collection, ” says Donald Schneider, H&M’s creative director. The late 1950s/early ’60s totally spring to mind thanks to that fuzzy pink angora sweater, tight micro-shorts in the same shade and winged-eyeliner with the hair, of course. No frills, no fuss, very simple but sexy, the images have been shot by veteran snappers, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Apparently, a campaign video featuring Lana singing a cover of “Blue Velvet” is also due to release on September 19 as part of the advertisement master plan. Her next campaign for winter is also due around the same time. Catch another bonus photograph of Lana right after the jump. What do you think of her first official modelling job? Too much, or too little?
Taylor Swift has been fabulous in her CoverGirl endorsements so far. But her latest campaign has truly blown us away. JustJaredhas posted some new photographs of Taylor seriously rocking out with dark hair, as you can see above in the pictures. Yes, it’s slightly darker, but it makes a world of a difference! The new campaign is exploring four different looks, namely, Clean, Rocker, Glam and Country — T.Swift has a lot to play with, and we’re wolf whistling at her in the picture on the right. Way to work that corset, Tay!
There’s also a behind-the-scenes video that has the singer explaining, “I think in life we have a bunch of different versions of ourselves and that goes with our personality and how we act around a friend, that’s how we act in a job interview…it’s all very different how we act. I think it’s all equally different the way we choose to dress, the way we choose our makeup. The cool thing about makeup is that it can be so different on any given day.” We agree! But what we want to know is — how do you prefer her lovely hair? Blond or brunette? Let us know in the poll below.
Ashley Greene‘s DKNY campaign doesn’t make her the only Twilight cast member to have a major endorsement under her belt. Kristen Stewart may just have one-upped her in the brand stakes — fans of DKNY though we are. La Stewart has been officially revealed as the face of the new Balenciaga fragrance, Florabotanica, due to be out in September. We first heard about this back in January, but this is the first time we’re getting any concrete details. Kristen’s relationship with Balenciaga, and with its head designer, the fabulous Nicholas Ghesquière, has been solid over the years. She’s worn his designs numerous times on red carpets all across the globe. That’s them posing together in the photograph on the left. “On a base level, the reason you want to wear a fragrance is because you want to smell attractive. That in itself is a pretty mature idea, especially considering the teenager I was. I was never the one wearing my mom’s perfume and trying to be sexy. I was like hanging out with my brothers and doing the opposite of that, ” explains the actress to WWD, adding, “I’m very lucky that I like the fragrance, because I would have done anything with [Balenciaga designer Nicolas Ghesquière], and I’m a terrible liar.”
Of the fragrance itself, Kristen says, “There is something natural about it. It’s very alive. I think that as a young person wearing it— considering that I’ve never worn a scent — it kind of puts you on this level of, like, ‘Whoa, check me out.’ ” Ghesquiere has also chimed in with his thoughts on the perfume, and praises Kristen at the same time with, “It’s more narrative, kind of a fantasy. So when I thought about the fragrance and the character that would visit that garden, I thought Kristen could be the perfect beauty and the perfect personality to represent that.” Of course she is! We can’t wait to see the new campaign, which has been shot by Steven Meisel.
Is it just us, or is this woman getting more stunning with every passing minute? Or is this just a product of exemplary styling and makeup? We can’t decide, so how about you let us know. Ashley Greene was unveiled as the face of DKNY last year and debuted in a stunning Spring 2012 spread shot by by InezVan Lamsweerde and VinoodhMatadin on the top of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. Now, the new pictures from the DKNY Fall 2012 campaign have been released and have been shot by Peter Lindbergh, and Ashley is looking even more flat-out incredible. These are so foxy, yet so elegant that we can’t handle it. Here’s an interesting fact: the dude you see in the photograph on the above left is Olivia Palermo‘s boyfriend Johannes Huebl who we will now call “Him of the Granite Jawline.” Couldn’t she have got Donna Karan to perhaps style her character Alice Cullen in the entire Twilight series? DKNY and Alice would’ve been such a perfect match. The clairvoyant Cullen is supposed to be quite the fashionista, but so far, we haven’t agreed with her wardrobe choices at all in any of the movies thus far. Luckily, Ashley is quite the stylista in real life and we hope to see her wearing clothes from this collection come winter. There are two more photographs after the jump which you’re totally going to want to see! Read more…
Excuse us while we fan ourselves for a moment. News broke sometime ago that Alexander Skarsgard was going to be the face of Calvin Klein‘s new men’s fragrance, Encounter. Between this and the fact that Brad Pitt had signed on as the new Chanel no. 5 face, we’ve been quite besides ourselves. Considering the Skarsgard endorsement seemed to be quite recent, we’re very surprised that the campaign is already out. It’s the steamy shot you see above — hence the need to fan ourselves. The shot lends itself to the name of the fragrance and also features the beautiful model, Lara Stone. The photograph isn’t the only promotional ace CK has up his sleeve, either. A TV commercial is also in the works and we can only imagine what that’s going to be like. Of the campaign, Skarsgard has said, “Their idea for their concept was very intriguing to me — it was almost like a short film and very film noir. It felt interesting to me. I wanted to be involved with something where you tell a story — even though it’s a short story.” And he’s right. It’s a genius shot and really does conjure up images of a very sexy encounter. Mission accomplished, Calvin Klein!
So, correct us if we’re wrong, but Sharper Image is a technology brand, right? They deal with all sorts of wizard-like gadgetry, if we’re not mistaken. So why exactly do they have Megan Fox stretched out on a bed with sexily mussed-up sheets in thigh-high stockings for their new campaign? We get that Megan is the sharper image here … but why, guys? It was only only on closer inspection that we realized that she’s holding a tablet in her hand. There’s the link to electronics! It’s totally legit now to have her pose in lingerie for something that is very, very loosely woven to her Transformers role. The tablet’s going to transform into one of Optimus Prime’s dudes! Now, how do we explain the fur throw? Is it faux? Is she trying to send out subliminal messages for PETA? Who knows guys. The Sharper Image guys went deep for this.
Victoria Beckham doesn’t just design clothes anymore. She also designs cars. No, seriously guys. The Poshest of all the spices just teamed up with Land Rover to design the new luxury Range Rover Evoque. That’s why she’s in China right now! Because that’s where the first of the £80,000 cars are being sold. As the car was unveiled in Beijing, she said, “It’s a great honour. I wanted to design a car that I want to drive and that David would want to drive. I want a car that reflects my personality. I’m really proud of this car.”
But forget all that for now. What we’re interested in is this super arty fashion film she made for the car along with Brit uber photographer Nick Knight. She’s wearing her own clothes in the video, of course. It’s so slick and sexy that we’re having trouble believing it’s to pimp out a car. Even a 80,000 pound one. Vicky looks better in this than she ever has. Watch it and let us know if you agree.
We could pretend that Heidi Klum is in a very tight, very thin catsuit in this picture. But the truth is that some people are just that comfortable with themselves and their amazing bodies to take their kit off for cameras. Heidi is clearly one of these individuals, and why would shouldn’t be? She never went through an awkward teenage phase so she’s been gorgeous through the years. She’s never gone through an awkward adult phase, either. Consider Heidi in this Allure edition for clarification. So we’re all simpatico? Excellent. Because Heidi is frickin’ awesome and she’s naked under all that body paint in this photograph for this Astor Cosmetics advertisement, honoring their 60th anniversary.
She explained the M.O of the picture on her blog, writing, “Makeup artist Joanne Gair transformed me into a story of color –literally! The shoot was done to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the brand. It took 12 hours for Joanne to complete my look, but this actually wasn’t the first time she has painted me from head to toe. This was probably close to the 13th time I’ve been body painted by her, so I’m used to getting it done — the process takes awhile, so you have to be good at being patient!” Considering she seems so genial all the time, it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary that Heidi would complain about becoming a human canvas. She added, “I don’t mind sitting still for such a long time though, it’s a living piece of art that I’m so honored to be a part of. However, I get so sad when the shoot is over because the beautiful paint all gets washed down the drain!” It’s beautiful alright!
