Be prepared to see plenty of punked up cats and dogs around your neighbourhood. Especially if your neighbours areBret Michaels fans! In a move that totally seems unlikely, yet pretty cool, to us, PetSmart asked the rocker to create the ‘Bret Michaels Pets Rock‘ line of accessories for them. You’ll have to wait and see what he cooks up, though — the collection is due to be released next year.
Bret explained why he decided to go ahead with the designs, saying, “… As a dedicated pet owner myself, this is a natural partnership for me, and I can’t wait to unveil the collection. I know my own pets rock, and I wanted to design a line of pet products every bit as fun and cool as they are.” We’re expecting cowboy hats and bandanas, guys.  What do you reckon?
How she keeps finding work is beyond. The train wreck we know as Lindsay Lohan is the new face of Phillip Plein clothing. She shot for the brand in Italy this past weekend steaming it up in Bellagio, first in a blood orange short-shorts ensemble and sky high heels and then later in a white dress and moss-green stilettos. We haven’t heard of the designer before, FYI, so we guess both of them are benefiting from her infamy. Will she be able to keep it together for an entire season or is a pink slip due (again) in the near future? We’re hoping this is her really getting her act together. Check out our gallery below for Li.Lo in action.
Who knew the Scandinavians had such a sense of humor? They got George Clooney to star in a commercial for Norwegian bank DNB NOR and we couldn’t stop cracking up while watching! It’s a whole spoof on George’s notorious bachelorhood and his well-publicized aversion to marriage. In the ad, we see a pretty hungover looking bride looking completely bewildered as to what exactly went down the night before. She looks down at the huge sparkler on her ring finger and just as she starts putting two and two together — her new husband, George, walks in.
Now if any of us got married drunk to a stranger (hello, Vegas), the scenario would be a little different. But her new husband happens to be the Silver Fox — who purrs, “I like your dress. It looks better off than on.” The commercial ends with “Some people are lucky in life. For the rest of us, saving up can be smart.”
Check out Reese Witherspoon modeling for Lindex! The Swedish brand has roped in the actress to be the face for their fall campaign because she’s “positive, warm and full of energy” and has “a carefree style with Hollywood glamor.” The brand’s a great match for Reese. While she looks super glammed up in gowns and dresses, we love seeing casual Reese a lot more. You know the one — it’s the Reese who works the hell out of a pair of jeans and a smile. Of the brand and her striking a pose for them, she said, “I have always loved denim and knitted garments that can be mixed and matched. Lindex’s fashion suits my style perfectly.” What do you think of Reese’s shots?
Lourdes Leon, will you be our friend? It’s not a conventional thing for us to ask a 14 year old, but let’s face it, this teenager is far cooler (and more savvy) than we’ll ever be. Case in point — Lourdes has launched her own make-up collection now! Madonna Junior was on hand in New York to launch Material Girl Beauty. Wonder where Mom was? She probably backed off so Lourdes could have her moment.
The collection’s not too hardcore comprising lotions, body washes, eye palettes, lip glosses and nail polishes — but it’s a start. We’re happy that they’ve kept it light and easy because even though Lourdes has this life, she’s still just 14. years old. Either way, what’s the bet that it’ll sell out? All the bottles have that Madonna fingerless glove floral-and-lace print! Heck, we’d buy the stuff!
You guys know we love Hailee Steinfeld, right? You all seem to agree with us as well, considering you voted her as your “favorite acting ingenue” in our March Celebrity Madness. No doubt she’s got serious acting cred, but she’s now set to take over the fashion world, and Plan A is already well underway. Considering what a smart young lady she is, she’s made the perfect choice to cement her “It Girl” status. Hailee’s posed for Miu Miu‘s new campaign and we think going with Prada‘s sister line is a genius decision!
Look at this photo (it’s the first one released, peeps), and tell us it isn’t fabulous? The black and white frock, the retro glasses, the silver socks, the wedges to die for — it’s the right amount of quirk without trying too hard or without becoming too twee. Which is what Miu Miu’s best at and is therefore, awesome for Hailee. We can’t wait to see the whole campaign. Keep ‘em coming!
Oh, no, girl! Dakota Fanning stars in the Oh, Lola! campaign for Marc Jacobs. It’s the designer’s new fragrance for summer and is being marketed as “lively, playful, irresistible, stylish and cheerful”. That’s all just dandy, but what we’re a bit concerned about is the advertisement itself.
The shot, taken by Juergen Teller, depicts a wide-eyed, artfully disheveled actress as Lolita, with the rose tipped bottle placed between her legs. Dakota just graduated high school! She’s just 17 years old. Much as we love her, isn’t this way too suggestive? We get the “Lolita” character was meant to be that way, but that’s the reason why it’s caused so much debate till now. Come on, seriously? Rose cap for a bottle? Between the legs? Babydoll dress? It’s a bit too sexual for us, mainly because they’ve got such a young model posing in it. Then again, Marc Jacobs has never been cookie cutter and has always pushed boundaries with his campaigns. We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether this is a bit too controversial an ad for Dakota to be in.
This new shot of Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton‘s Core Values campaign blew us away. Shot in Siem Reap, Cambodia by uber photographer Annie Leibovitz, this is Angelina as she should be. Out in the open (in this case, a boat), wearing her own clothes and looking completely gorgeous. That’s also her own monogrammed LV Alto bag that’s not in production anymore. The actress has been attached to the country ever since she shot Lara Croft there in 2000 and her son Maddox was adopted from Cambodia. Four of her kids were at the shoot as well, and apparently, Leibovitz had to make them scram out of her shots plenty of times! Other Core Values celebrities include Sean Connery and Bono. What do you think of the shot? Doesn’t it look like a painting?
We’re typing this while gulping down a glass of low-fat milk, hoping that in approximately two decades we’ll have a shot at looking like Heidi Klum. Her Body by Milk advertisement was launched yesterday by the Got Milk? team and we have to say, she’s never looked better! As the name suggests, the supermodel is promoting low-fat milk, and what better “body” to sell the idea than hers?
This is the second time around that she’s teamed up with the campaign. Heidi’s 2008 saucy Got Milk? milkmaid made waves especially with their slogan “Haute Cowture.” Yesterday was also Heidi’s 38th birthday so it was cause for double celebration. We nearly fainted when we we heard how old she was turning (relax, we don’t mean “old” as is “over the hill”) because of her various, very obvious genetic gifts. Happy Birthday, Heidi! The advertisement is aces.
Vera Wang‘s ad for her new fragrance Lovestruck features Leighton Meester in it, looking as lovestruck as they come. We only wish we could have a gorgeous man running across New York to get us a bouquet of the most stunning pink blooms (which promptly get flung aside) while we wait in sweet anticipation on a balcony. Actually, while we’re wishing for things, we’d want that glorious gown too, because she looks flawless in it. Leighton’s signed on for two years and got a $ 3 million deal going with Vera Wang, just for this fragrance alone. Well done, Blair! XOXO, Jealous Girl
