Let’s for a second, take a moment to applaud the hypocrisy of it all. The Candie’s Foundation appointed Bristol Palin as their face for a teen pregnancy prevention campaign in 2009. Because clearly, she’s the poster child for it, right? This happened post Tripp’s birth, when Bristol was 18 years old. And it seems all this preventing talk has made the young mom a very rich lady.TMZ reports that Bristol made over $262,000 on the deal because she, “plays an important role by helping other teens understand the incredible challenges teen parents face, and encouraging them to wait until they are socially and financially independent to start their families.”
WHAT. Firstly, she’s a teen mom. She has a baby. There was no prevention there! And now she’s getting money for saying don’t have babies? And then going on Dancing With The Stars. We’re not sure how those two are related, but somehow, they are. There’s just something seriously wrong with how this girl has become a celebrity.
We’ve fallen head over heels in love with Keira Knightley‘snew short film for Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume. It’s been directed by Keira’s director of our favorite Pride and Prejudice, Joe Wright. We’re also very grateful because this film has introduced us to a certain actor-Greek God hybrid called Alberto Ammann. Joss Stone‘s totally surprised us as well. She’s not in the film, but she sang the ‘soundtrack’—a cover of James Brown’s It’s A Man’s, Man’s, Man’s World—and she nailed it. Watch Keira zipping around Paris, giving us breathtaking shots of sights like Place Vendome and the Place de la Concorde. She’s wearing a beige motorcycle jumpsuit designed by Karl Lagerfeld, which she takes off later to seduce Alberto. Hot! Hot! Hot!
Rihanna‘s posed for Nivea to celebrate their 100-year anniversary and she looks absolutely stunning in the classic shot. The brands excited to have her as their “voice” and have stated, “We are excited to have Rihanna supporting us in our celebration and building a new generation of fans”. She looks a lot more than a “voice” to us!
We’re normally not huge fans of topless campaigns but this one’s done so tastefully. We love the fact that they’ve gone light with the makeup and kept the tone of the picture clean and simple. What do you think? For the complete photo, look after the jump and tell us your opinion. Read more…
Of the two shots we’ve seen, we couldn’t be happier! Of the Palladium collection, Hendricks said, “… I admire that Vivienne uses her designs to inspire change and the pieces are just so wonderful. I love that there are dramatic pieces such as the crown and the heart necklace as well as more simple pieces such as the acorn earrings…” The crown does look pretty cool. Look after the jump for the second photograph with the heart necklace! You won’t be disappointed. Tell us what you think. [Photos via Just Jared] Read more…
The lovely Emma Watson has been named as the new face of Lancome. And we think that’s an absolutely brilliant move because face it, anything that girl touches turns to gold. The French beauty giants have been represented in the past by actresses like Julia Roberts, Uma Thurman and Juliette Binoche. But with Miss Hermione Granger on board, a whole new demographic could open up. Which includes us, because we always associated Lancome with our Moms.
Emma may be young, but she’s already got modeling and designing experience under her belt. She starred in some memorable Burberry campaigns and has an eco-friendly clothing line for People Tree. It’s enough to make anyone feel like a chronic underachiever. What were we doing at the age of 20? Yeah… nothing. Emma’s going to be photographed by legendary lensman Mario Testino and will appear in a slew of television and print advertisements. She commented, “It’s so exciting, I can’t wait to start shooting. Although I don’t wear much make-up, I’m a big fan of Lancome products, especially their mascara.” Oh come on…she has to say that because she’s representing them now. It’s her job to shill them! Not that Emma needs any make-up. Oh to be a successful, rich, gorgeous 20 year old.
Some of these celebrity endorsement advertisements are really blowing us away. Natalie Portman‘s Miss Dior Cherie still is absolutely gorgeous. And now Scarlett Johansson‘s Moet & Chandon champagne promo is the next one to sigh over. Dressed in an icy-blue flounced gown, showing off some leg, a red-lipped ScarJo looks perfectly at ease in her rococo surroundings. The actress has been an M&C spokesperson since 2009, and as you can see from previous photos, the look was far more modern and sleek. While they’re lovely too, we think this current photograph is the perfect route to go. The slightly debauched-French angle hits the spot! And there’s nothing like caseloads of champers to get over ex-husband Ryan Reynolds.
Natalie Portman was unveiled as the face of Parfums Christian Dior last year in December. She photographs like a dream so we were looking forward to see what stylistic route they would go with. Now that the advertisement is out, we’re not complaining one bit. The topless—and newly preggo—Portman glows. It’s classy and she looks like a coy ingenue here. We’re glad they went with clean, simple lines.
WOAH! Way to go girl! CoverGirl just released Taylor Swift‘s new NatureLuxe commercial and we’re sold. Taylor looks stunning and is rocking red lips and wild curly hair. True to her style, but slightly more grown-up, they’ve put her in two versions of a gold shimmering dress. The first is long, clinging and sexy, and the other short, strapless and fun.
