People is reporting that Maya Rudolph’s baby boy was born July 3, thus ending the Bridesmaids star’s 12-year-long pregnancy. At least, it sure seemed like it. Correct us if we’re wrong, but didn’t Maya appear just a tiny bit pregnant in the Bridesmaids movie itself? And then massively with child when the film was released in May? And has just this Independence Day weekend popped the kid out? A little while longer and it would have started to look like a ruse to cover up some sort of basketball-smuggling operation.
Rudolph and director husband Paul Thomas Anderson named the baby Jack, joining their two other normally-named children Pearl and Lucille. “The exciting part is not knowing who’s coming,” Maya told People during her pregnancy, about waiting to find out the sex of her child. “You have to wait nine months for a surprise, but then it’s a good payoff because it really is a surprise.” The even bigger surprise must have been when that kid came out able to talk and with a full set of teeth.
Our tween selves think it’s kind of tragic that Jewel’s new baby has completely missed the years when his mom was a hugely famous singer-songwriter. Then again, he also missed the release of “Intuition,” so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. People reports that the singer and handsome cowboy husband Ty Murray welcomed their son last night in Texas. The baby’s name is Kase Townes Murray, and considering his mom published a book of poetry and once lived in her car, we think he got away scot-free.
“Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world,” the host of Platinum Hit said. “We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!” A pregnant Jewel was in a car accident back in March but received only minor injuries. So, seriously, no one tell that kid about “Intuition.” He’s been through enough already, and he’s less than 24-hours-old.
After being painted a picture of calm, emotionally gratifying, virtually pain free celebrity baby times, it’s refreshing to hear that model Miranda Kerr childbirth story is exactly like we imagine ours will be. “I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I kept thinking, ‘How do women do this?’ But if other women have done this, I can do it too. I was determined,” the bride of Orlando Bloom admitted to InStyle about her natural childbirth this past January. “I was looking down on myself – the pain was so intense.” Yeah, we want to float outside our bodies when have our teeth cleaned. We’d literally travel to the astral plane if we had to go through labor without a half-dozen epidurals.
One reason that Kerr’s birth to baby Flynn was so traumatic is that the kid emerged practically toddler-sized. “[Flynn is] a big baby, 4.5 kilograms [almost 10 pounds] at birth,” Miranda explained. “And I thought to myself, ‘I have so much more that I want to do aside from modeling. I can live with my body not being in shape if I have a healthy son. It’s worth it.’ ” But, as you might of guessed, Kerr is already back modeling for Victoria Secret’s, which is how you know this is still a famous person’s baby story.
Guess who’s going to be sleeping on the couch for the next week? David Beckham snapped a super pregnant Victoria Beckham stealthily as she sunbathed yesterday. Not that she doesn’t know of the picture by now because he posted it up on his official Facebook page! It’s an artsy black-and-white shot that looks more like an ad campaign then a candid, but it does show just how big Vicky B’s got! He captioned the photograph with, “Took this pic of Victoria while she wasn’t looking. She looks amazing, so close now to the baby being born!” He’s smart one, that David. Flattery will get you out of trouble! She does look amazing though, doesn’t she?

First Lauryn Hill, Lily Allen, Tori Spelling and now Keri Russell’s pregnant: some celebrities have had a very productive first half of 2011. And here’s us, with a gym membership we used like twice in March. Felicity star Russell is currently expecting her second bundle of joy/amazing hair with husband Shane Deary. “Ker is a couple of months pregnant and she’s thrilled,” a friend of the family reports to Star magazine. “She and Shane have really wanted another baby, and now it’s actually happening.” The couple already has one son, River, and Keri is currently set to star in the upcoming Austenland. Well, we’ve been journaling a lot more, so we guess it all kind of balances out.

A lovely Lily Allen married boyfriend Sam Cooper in a little church in Cranham, near Gloucester, England, just day before yesterday, on Saturday. The gown had a beautifully vintage feel to it with it’s Calais lace overlay, long sleeves, 1920′s veil and a three foot train. It was created by a French designer called Delphine Manivet who said, “Lily is a girl who is quite rock and roll, but her wedding she wanted to be traditional.”
It gets even better for the 26-year-old singer, because it turns out that Lily is pregnant as well, news which they delivered to wedding guests! Lily suffered a devastating miscarriage last year, and one before that in 2008 while dating Ed Simons of The Chemical Brothers, so this must be especially healing for her. We wish the new couple and parents-to-be much joy! Congratulations! More pictures from the wedding below.

We are all for improving our current plan for if we have to give birth (Step 1: Scream like the fires of hell are consuming us. Step 2: Push. Step 3: Repeat), but Jessica Alba’s “hypnobirthing classes” seem a little too good to be true. “It’s different for everyone, although I do recommend the hypnobirthing classes. I highly recommend it. It just makes you chill,” the actress told US Weekly. So we can just enter into a relaxing trace and won’t notice the searing pain? Don’t tell us that, or we’ll be using it all the time: dentist’s visits, office meetings, every single one of our waking moments. Of course, any steps that can be taken during Jessica Alba’s pregnancy this time around will invariably make for a better experience than giving birth to daughter Honor. “I was freaked out going into it my first time going into labor. Like what if I panic? What if I just freak out and I don’t know what to do?,” says Alba. Jessica, just take a peek at our handy three-step plan above. Or, sure, put yourself into a blissful pain-free dream state. Which ever works for you.

The Obamas may be awfully glamorous for an American President & First Lady, but the French definitely have us beat. Not only is Carla Bruni continuing her music career and appearing in Woody Allen‘s Midnight In Paris, the 43-year-old is reportedly pregnant! Pal Sarkozy, father of French president Nicolas Sarkozy, confirmed to a German newspaper that the pair are expecting. “Neither wants to know the gender beforehand,” said the elder Sarkozy, “but I’m certain it will be a girl, and beautiful like Carla.” The alleged parents-to-be have declined to comment as yet.
While the child would be Bruni and Sarkozy’s first together, the former model has a 10-year-old son from an earlier relationship to then-married professor Raphael Enthoven. Meanwhile, 56-year-old Sarkozy—who recently became a grandfather—has three sons from two previous marriages. With the French prez dealing with record lows in popularity, could this news help his re-election chances next year?

We lift a heaping plateful of baby-back ribs in celebration of Mike Myer’s baby with wife Kelly Tisdale, who is already in her second trimester and, at this point, almost certainly not a Fembot. Unless the new models are terrifyingly more advanced… “I can confirm they are expecting a child,” Myers’ rep told the New York Post. Clearly a baby bump is harder to slip past the public than Mike Myers’s recent marriage, but seeing as how the couple was able to keep their nuptials a secret for months, we’d though the Austin Powers star would at least a little subterfuge. He already has all those fat suits lying around; why not have some fun with them? Either way, we have no doubt the Myers boy or girl will enjoy a typical childhood: summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring they’ll make meat helmets. Pretty standard really.

Normally we avoid baby bump speculation, but we spotted these pictures of Jenna Fischer out to dinner last night with her husband Lee Kirk and our Preggo Siren went off at full blast. There’s nothing on the web about her being knocked up, but check her out — stretchy shirt, glowing face, luscious hair and a big ol’ bump for days. And we say this not as gossip mongers but as baby bump experts (because we just got rid of ours five months ago). In March she told Redbook, “I already wanted kids, but even more so now.” Hm, was she dropping hints back then? While we wait for Jenna to confirm our suspicions on her MySpace page (she may be the last person using that site) we’ll offer our congratulations just in case we happen to be right. Way to go, Pammy B!
