It’s fair to say that Bobby Brown is having a pretty rough year. Between the death of his long-time love Whitney Houston in February, and the continued downward spiral of his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown being played out on a new reality series, the dude has a lot on his plate. In the time-honored tradition of stressed out celebs, Brown has taken to the sauce pretty hard lately, with predictably bad results.
However, after wracking up his second DUI of the year on Wednesday, Brown is apparently turning over a new leaf and attempting to get his life back on track. Friends of the R&B star tell TMZ that his most recent arrest served as a wake-up call to seek treatment for his drinking. Brown attended rehab as recently as this past August, but reportedly didn’t take it seriously because he didn’t honestly feel that he had a real problem.
Other sources elaborate on Brown’s deteriorating mental health to RadarOnline. Following his estrangement from his daughter, the singer attempted to fill that void with substances. “Bobby has been down in the dumps about his relationship with Bobbi Kristina for some time,” an insider reveals. “It was certainly what started the ball rolling in terms of falling foul to his demons once again and he’s been hitting the bottle hard. Bobbi Kristina doesn’t want to talk to him, doesn’t want to meet up and it’s left Bobby feeling dead inside.” It can’t help to know that Bobbi Kristina’s increasing tumultuous personal life, including her engagement to adoptive brother Nick Gordon, is now being used as reality TV fodder. “He feels at a loose end because he hears of Bobbi Kristina’s problems and wants to help, but she just won’t listen to him.”
Unfortunately, this news isn’t all that surprising for anyone who’s been reading LeAnn Rimes‘ Twitter in the past year: The country singer, who just turned 30 on Tuesday, has entered a “30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress,” her rep told People.
“This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” Rimes said. “All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I’m hoping they’re not going to affect me as much. I’ll have the tools to know how to deal with them.”
Rimes’ extremely svelte figure has led many to believe she suffers from an eating disorder, but it seems like her rep is trying to head off those theories right away, saying, “While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
We won’t pile onto the body image thing, but we do think some of Rimes’ recent Twitter fights with critics, as well as her beef with husband Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife Brandi Glanville, indicate she’s had plenty of cause for stress lately. And clearly visiting the shooting range didn’t help her burn off all of that steam.
With a new album, Spitfire, and a tour coming up this fall, this sounds like a good time to get things sorted, and we wish LeAnn the best of luck with it!

Sad news from the world of reality TV today: Joey Kovar, who appeared on MTV’s Real World: Hollywood in 2008 and on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab in 2010, was found dead in a friend’s home in Chicago, TMZ reports. He was 29 years old. The site says family members believe drugs are to blame.
Kovar was a personal trainer who’d never left the state of Illinois before joining the cast of The Real World. He had experienced problems with drugs and alcohol prior to his reality-TV debut but believed he had beat his addiction. Unfortunately, he relapsed while shooting the show and left halfway through the season to enter rehab.
Hawaii Five-O star Alex O’Loughlin will miss at least one episode of the show as he takes a “short break” undergo treatment for a prescription painkiller addiction, his spokesperson says.
The 35-year-old Australian was prescribed the meds for a shoulder injury — which should surprise no one who’s witnessed him perform his own stunts for the action-packed series.
“Everyone at CBS TV Studios and Hawaii 5-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return,” a CBS spokesperson said. And reportedly the show already has 19 of the season’s 22 episodes in the can, so he can take his time in an undisclosed Hawaii facility. Read more…
We kind of already guessed that Demi Moore was in some kind of rehab after her hospitalization last month. Even her official statement after the incident — which was allegedly caused by a nitrous oxide O.D. — said, “Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health.” So the news that she’s been at the Cirque Lodge in Utah since leaving the hospital, according to E! Online, is hardly surprising. “She’s on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people,” a source told the site, adding that she’s being treated for both addiction and an eating disorder. What is surprising is that we all learned about this so many days later. Props to Demi’s people for keeping it so hush-hush. (Then again, maybe Demi’s people could have helped her more before it got to this point? Sorry, no judgments.)
According to addiction site TheFix.com, the Cirque Lodge costs from $30,000-$45,000 a month. It’s been the facility of choice for the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Kirsten Dunst and Eva Mendes. Besides great spa perks, the place offers helicopter rides and lots of hikes in the Rocky Mountains. Check it out: Read more…
Aw, remember this talented little ball of hair and silicone? We haven’t heard a lot from the Back To Black singer since, oh, around 2008. So to bring you up to speed: nothing has changed. Sadly, Amy Winehouse entering rehab Wednesday night won’t surprise anybody with eyes and a long-term memory. “[Amy] wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors’ advice,” her rep Chris Goodman said in a statement today. Even less surprising is the fact allegedly Winehouse drank vodka out of a tiny travel-sized bottle immediately before checking into the clinic. Said an onlooker at Meadway Food and Wine in Southgate, North London, Winehouse “seemed out of it. She was stumbling about, slurring her words. I was shocked to see her buy vodka so early in the day, and even more shocked to see her knock it straight back.” Shocked, really? Next you’ll be telling us you’re shocked to find out Obama got elected president, or Be Kind, Rewind was a delight. It wasn’t that long ago.
It’s a sad day in the world of reality television when notorious reality show celeb Tila Tequila avoids doing one. Even though she was allegedly the first to sign on for the next season of VH1’s Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew: RadarOnline reports Tila has withdrawn from the show.
Tila was by far the second best candidate for Dr. Drew’s drug rehabilitation show, behind Lindsay Lohan of course, and we’re woefully devastated that she won’t be healing herself on VH1 anytime soon. Tila exemplified the three important qualities necessary to be on the addictive (pun intended) show: deranged, delusional and very clearly drugged-up. Remember, Tila announced at the time of signing on for the show that she wanted to get over her prescription drug addiction, so the girl clearly needs help.
Even Tila’s reps gave no reasoning for suddenly backing out, simply saying “no” when RadarOnline asked if the Shot At Love star was still signed on. Hmmmm…maybe “Jane,” Tila’s alter-ego told her not to do the show. Jane, afterall, was the one who was behind the Tila’s terrible suicide hoax.
Apparently Jeremy London has signed on for Celebrity Rehab. Does this mean he’s admitting that his kidnapping-and-forcible-drug-taking story was all a ruse? Not exactly – he’s still sticking to it, but admits he’s fallen off the wagon. London will apparently be paid $40,000 for his appearance on the show. Nothing like a sudden windfall of cash to keep a known addict off the junk, that’s what we always say.
London joins fellow “celebrities” Jason Whaler, Jason Davis (brother to greasy turd Brandon Davis) and Shauna Sand for Celebrity Rehab 4. We hope that Dr. Drew will help him fight his demons – it’s clear he has some.

Tila Tequila obviously has something wrong with her, but we never attributed it to a drug or alcohol problem. She wants us to believe she has an addiction though, because Tila just signed up for Celebrity Rehab. The reality star/Twitter addict (hey, is that her problem?? Can Dr. Drew Pinsky wean her off the internet?) is currently the only person signed up for the show, a show which is successfully redefining both “celebrity” and “rehab” now that she’s going to appear. (Seriously, can you rehabilitate narcissism and pathological lying about false pregnancies? Because those seem to be her greater issues.)
The series has been struggling lately to find willing participants for the new season after a $1 million offer was rejected by Lindsay Lohan, and other celebs like Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen both declined. If additional cast members don’t sign on, the show may be canceled.

Proving that she either really doesn’t need the money, is too proud to get help, or she just hates Dr. Drew Pinksy that much, Lindsay Lohan has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to appear on the latest season of Celebrity Rehab. The show was willing to pay the actress whatever she is $1 million to appear on Rehab and Sober House.
TMZ reports that a few other celebs were approached for the show, and they’re a fairly A-list bunch compared to prior years, but they all said no. The list includes Heather Locklear, who was just busted for driving into a sign, Brooke Mueller, and Jenna Jameson. To be fair, Jameson has been cleared of drug use so it’s no wonder she declined. Charlie Sheen is reportedly on the show’s list of candidates as well, but we’re pretty sure that will never happen. No word on who else will participate in the upcoming season which starts filming next month.
