There’s a reason why Mark Zuckerberg and his normally reticent girlfriend, Priscilla Chan are trending on Twitter today. It’s because of that very surprising update the Zuck posted on that other social networking phenomenon — Facebook. Mark married his partner of nine years, Priscilla, yesterday in a private wedding held in the backyard of his home in Palo Alto, California. And it isn’t just a surprise to the world. It was a surprise to the approximate 100 guests who attended as well. They thought they were coming for Priscilla’s med school (University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine) graduation party! Her wedding ring is rumored to have been designed by Zuckerberg himself, and is said to feature “a very simple ruby.” The photograph — love the gown and the veil — and the update are on his Facebook page. Of course they are. On another note, there’s something kind of old school about this picture, that we really like. Maybe it’s the dress? Maybe it’s the pose or the sunlight filtering in the background? It makes them look quite serene and happy.
This is going to be a very tough week to top for him. His 28th birthday was on Monday — May 14. He just got married. And let’s not forget the fact that he’s going to be rolling in billions thanks to the Facebook IPO. Major congratulations to the newlyweds. We expect more updates soon!

Personally we are all about rumors of a Jennifer Aniston/Justin Theroux wedding this summer. You know who apparently doesn’t love those rumors so much? Jennifer Aniston’s representative. Despite reports to the contrary, it turns out Jen is not locked in some kind of rocketed-powered race to the altar with Angelina and Brad that had her scouting out the Ellunda Beach Hotel in Crete for her alleged nuptials. In a delightfully sarcastic statement, Aniston’s rep told Us Magazine that the Crete rumors were a “total fabrication,” seeing as how Aniston “was not in Greece.” Groused the rep, “How is it that one of the most photographed people in the world supposedly goes to Greece to check out a hotel she never heard of and is not spotted or photographed?” Ohhh, Jen’s rep just burned you, everyone who believes things they read on the internet!
We guess the strain of fielding faux wedding rumors week after week with no end in sight would start to wear on a person. The events manager of the hotel also denies that Aniston stopped by, albeit in a much less bitter way. “But she is very welcome here,” Aliki Milona told the magazine. Yeah, we’ll see how welcome she is when paparazzi start to show up for her completely fictional wedding.

Our jaws dropped when we read this story on Us Weekly. According to them, everyone’s favorite Carey Mulligan is married to Marcus Mumford, her musician beau! The couple have been dating since early last year — they met at a Mumford & Sons gig in Nashville on February — and rumors of Mulligan and Mumford being engaged took off soon after. Turns out, he popped the question in August last year after just five months of dating, but they took their time with a nice long engagement. It’s being said that that they got hitched on a farm in Somerset, England, over the weekend. The thought of it makes us sigh already because this whole Somerset farm thing is truly dreamy. It’s the perfect spot for the ideal hipster wedding. The countryside is the spot now.
Apparently, they exchanged their “I do’s” in front of some hundred guests, who included their famous friends, like Sienna Miller, Colin Firth and Jake Gyllenhaal. That doesn’t even begin to satisfy us! We need more details — like the dress! Photographs! Something? But we are very happy for the newly married couple. Congratulations, you two!

Lady Antebellum‘s singer Hillary Scott got married to drummer Chris Tyrrell this weekend. The newly hitched couple posted a video on the band’s site in which Chris says, “I’d like to introduce you to Mrs. Hillary Scott Tyrrell.” Hillary adds, “We got married, and we just wanted you to hear it from us first. We love you! We’re so excited to be starting our lives together, and we just had to let you in on the exciting news.” They got married in Upstate New York on Saturday, and Hillary wore a custom Vera Wang strapless mermaid dress and a beautiful mantilla lace veil. The groom wore a very spiffy gray Ermenegildo Zegna suit. Congratulations to the newly weds! We have a bonus picture from the video of her gown after the jump. Read more…
We’re gonna go out on a limb here and say that the Real Housewives women are the worst thing to happen to the institution of marriage since Kim Kardashian. Want proof? OK: Brandi Glanville had a spur of the moment quickie wedding in Las Vegas for reasons that can best be described as “spite.” The Real Housewife of New Jersey star tied the knot with her friend and manager Darin Harvey last weekend in the Spearmint Rhino strip club.
“I’m married again- suuuuuuuck it!” she posted to her twitter, apparently a no-so-veiled dig at her ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, whose affair with singer LeAnn Rimes lead to their divorce in 2009. “Honeymoons with strippers are the best,” she continued. But the next morning her new husband dismissed their union as “a drunken BFF thing” and doesn’t intend to follow through. “I had a crazy Vegas moment,” he wrote on his own twitter feed. “Getting annulled tomorrow,” he says, thus making Brandi a fake housewife once again. Despite this, Brandi calls the whole caper “super fun.”
But Brandi isn’t the only Real Housewife to take a massive “reality show” on matrimony. When appearing on Good Morning America this morning to promote her new book, Kyle Richards defended her views that you shouldn’t tell your significant other if you cheat on them, provided it only happens once. “You get a free pass,” she writes in Life Is Not a Reality Show: Keeping It Real With the Housewife Who Does It All.
While Russell Brand and Katy Perry’s split on Friday put a damper on our celebratory mood over the weekend, we are happy to report that other famous couples are doing their best to renew our faith in romance. Here’s a little round-up of all the happy relationship news that happened over the weekend:
Johnny Weir and his lawyer boyfriend Victor Voronov got married. The figure skater tweeted, “I’m married!” on Saturday morning, and later told Real Housewives of New York vet Jill Zarin that they’d have a wedding this summer.
American Idol finalist James Durbin married his longtime girlfriend, Heidi Lowe, on Saturday in Santa Cruz. Their 2-year-old son, Hunter, was the ring bearer, and 85 guests attended the festivities, People reports.
The teenager within us is having a fit right about now. Our crush from the Backstreet Boys, from way back when, A.J. McLean got married to his very pretty longtime girlfriend Rochelle Kandis on Saturday night. The ceremony took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel and celebrity guests in attendance were his Backstreet bandmates, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough and Nick Carter, Kathy Griffin and New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre. Which is like a late ’80′s-’90′s smorgasbord of boyband goodness. A.J and Rochelle have been engaged for two years, every since the singer proposed at one of his shows. Congratulations, guys!

A mere four months ago, Sinead O’Connor was just another bald pope-hating ’90s musician desperately looking for love and anal sex on the Internet. And today, she’s a married woman! It’s like a real-life fairy tale, you guys! The singer celebrated her 45th birthday last night in Las Vegas by tying the knot with her boyfriend, therapist Barry Herridge. The happy couple met on Twitter several months ago, when he responded to her request for a man to date. Errr … you might want to dress that story up a bit, guys.
The deed was done at the Little White Wedding Chapel, or rather outside of it. The couple took the “drive thru” approach, actually getting married while cruising in a pink Cadillac on the edge of the church. No word on whether they wanted fries with their wedding license. “I’ve been married before, but I’ve never had my dream wedding in Vegas,” she told Reuters. “I wanted to do it there because it’s casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic.” Of course, everyone knows that Las Vegas is the most romantic city in the world. Tons of stars have traveled to Vegas to say “I do.” Most of them said, “I don’t anymore,” shortly after … but so what! Check out the gallery below to see more celebs who risked the odds and got hitched in Vegas!

Congrats are due to Rosie O’Donnell! The 49-year-old announced on her new OWN Network show that she’s engaged to Michelle Rounds. Her publicist told Us Weekly that The Rosie Show host will wed her lady love over the Christmas holiday. Rosie was previously married to longtime partner Kelli Carpenter, with whom she has four children. They split in 2007.
In October, Rosie called into The Howard Stern Show and gushed about her relationship with Rounds, telling Stern that marriage was “in the cards.” She also compared her to Julianne Moore (hawt!) and said her kids already introduced her as their “step-mom.” Now we just want to know if the comic superstar is gonna to drop the O’Donnell in favor of ‘Rosie Rounds.’ It’s the cutest name ever — we say embrace it!

This has been a year for huge weddings. (Or a huge year for weddings?) There was the royal one across the pond, the royal “fairytale” of Kris and Kim, and of course, Bella and Edward’s long-awaited walk down the aisle this week. But remember back when music’s Queen B and one half of the Throne tied the knot in almost-secret three years ago? Pregnancy seems to have made Beyonce less shy about her private life. Among the many home videos showing B’s absolutely amazing life that accompany the video of her live performance of “I Was Here” at Roseland Ballroom in August, there is a quick glimpse of her in the gown. Even all grainy, with B clearly not wearing makeup, she is pretty stunning in the strapless, gathered dress. Maybe now that she’s shown this much, we can one day see the finished product? We’ll keep wishing, anyway.
Though some of us are old and long-married, we still enjoy a little fantasy gown shopping once in a while, so we’d like to ask …
And yeah, feel free to come back and vote after you’ve seen Breaking Dawn Part 1.
