Breaking Bad Exclusive: Dean Norris Thinks Hank Will Be The One Who Takes Walt Down

The last season of Breaking Bad is officially underway, and fans are already hypothesizing about how the show will end. Much of the series’ tension comes from Walter White’s DEA-employed brother-in-law Hank being hot on his meth-making trail. We asked Dean Norris, who plays the mineral-loving, nickname-giving fed, if he thinks his character will be the one to crack the Heisenberg case. Says Dean, “I think Hank’s gonna find out. That’s the last major story structure – the Walt-Hank confrontation. And they’re not going to shy away from that.”

When we asked if he thinks Hank will chose his loyalty to family over the law, Dean said: “I don’t know, that’s up to [show creator] Vince Gilligan. I have a feeling he’s going to struggle with it and then take him down.”

And that’s when we let out a fangirl-y scream, because if there’s one thing we’re looking forward to, it’s Hank and Walt going at it in the ultimate, Breaking Bad showdown! Oh, this show. THIS SHOW!

Exclusive: Aaron Paul On Possible Jesse Pinkman Death: “I Hope He Goes Out Guns Blazing”

It’s more or less impossible to pick a favorite character on Breaking Bad. Gus was arguably one of TV ‘s all time greatest villains, Hank’s obsession with minerals and his unwavering determination to nail Heisenberg is always TV gold, and then there’s just Marie being Marie. But there’s something special about Jesse Pinkman – his constant use of “yo” and “bitch,” his tiny red car, his desperate, misguided attempts to love and be loved. If Walt is the brains, then Jesse is the heart of the operation — and the show.

So it was no surprise that the Comic-Con crowd welcomed the actor with a standing ovation on Friday, nor was it a surprise that the fans crammed into Ballroom 20 booed when show creator Vince Gilligan teased the possibility of Jesse Pinkman dying this season. When we caught up with Aaron at the show’s premiere on Saturday, he had this to say about whether or not Jesse will get a happy ending. “I hope so,” said the actor. “Hopefully he survives. If not, I hope he at least goes out guns blazing, in a blaze of glory.”

As for Gilligan’s hinting that Jesse’s life may be cut short? Says Aaron, “It’s so depressing. I hope something good happens for him, because I care for him deeply.”

So do we, yo. So do we.

Comic-Con 2012’s 20 Sexiest Costumes: From Princess Leias To Steampunk Zombies

The 20 sexiest costumes at San Diego Comic-Con 2012

We’ll let you in on a little secret that everyone at San Diego Comic-Con already knows: Nerds are super sexy. And The super sexy can be huge nerds. Just take Australian beauty Rachael Taylor (Transformers), who was there to promote her fall TV show 666 Park Avenue. You wouldn’t guess it, but she’s huge into comic books and horror films. And then there are the men and women who appear in the gallery below. Many of them are geeky enough that we have NO IDEA what their costumes are supposed to be (obscurity is a big badge of honor at SDCC), but they are also smoking hot in their bustiers and horns. We’ve identified a few things that up the sexy factor of a Comic-Con costume, so you can plan for next year:

  • Weapons
  • Gender-swapping (see: Lady Joker, Lady Wookie)
  • Spandex
  • Fierce posing
  • We ranked our faves. Peruse the pics and if you feel like it, tell us what these people are supposed to be.

Is Breaking Bad‘s Walter White A Hero Or A Villain? We Asked Bryan Cranston For His Thoughts

It’s safe to say that tonight’s fifth season premiere of Breaking Bad is the most-anticipated television moment since, well, the fifth season premiere of Mad Men back in March. (You gotta hand it to those dudes at AMC!) To wit, most reports coming out of Comic-Con this weekend have pegged the audience reaction at the Breaking Bad premiere party as the most-fevered of the weekend, despite the fact that the hard-boiled show about meth-making and dealing isn’t exactly what you’d imagine would spawn tens of thousands of geekgasms.

Our trusty VH1 News correspondent Kate Spencer caught up with none other than Bryan Cranston, who plays Breaking Bad protagonist Walter White, at the world premiere of BB: S5 last night and asked him a doozy of a question: Is Walter White a hero or a villain? “If he has to use lethal force to protect his family, from his standpoint? I don’t know if he’d consider himself a hero OR a villain. He’s just trying to make his way.”

You can get Bryan’s thoughts on Jesse Pinkman, playing the dentist on Seinfeld, “ma-fatherly” and “the tap” in our video before. Oh, and if you have yet to see Dean Norris (who plays the DEA Agent Hank on the show) dressed up as Xena The Warrior Princess, you MUST check out our gallery below!

Glee‘s Darren Criss Is Looking Forward To A Kurt-Blaine “Shake-Up” Next Season

We’ve always thought Kurt and Blaine’s relationship on Glee was the sweetest, most real thing about the show. Then again, we were totally amused when their comfort together introduced the concept of “lesbian bed death” to the kids. When Kate Spencer caught up with Darren Criss at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, it sounded like he agreed on both fronts.

“We’ve kind of established a Ross and Rachel [relationship],” Criss told VH1. “I’m not saying they’re going to break up. I have no idea. But there’s a definite connection there that hopefully will be there till the end of whatever the show may be. But I think we’d like to see some shake-up. We are verging on old married couple territory.”

True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard, Rutina Wesley Geek Out Over Supernatural Powers At Comic-Con

So, yeah, the True Blood panel at San Diego Comic-Con was plenty sexy, what with the stripper moves and the talk of Eric and Bill spooning in a trunk all weekend. But when the cast got to the Warner Bros. booth on the conference center floor, they were appropriately in real geek mode. These guys and girls really enjoy a good chat about their characters supernatural abilities. Maybe they were in the mood because of the new baby vampire on the scene, Rutina Wesley’s Tara Thornton. Rutina’s clearly enjoying her fangs more than her character, but she thinks Tara will come around soon.

“Hopefully, Tara will be able to accept who she is and learn to love being a vampire,” she told VH1. “That struggle of her being a human versus being a vampire is going to be interesting to see her deal with this season, but I think she’ll eventually come around.”

But if she had her choice, would Wesley want to be a vamp or one of the other species in Charlaine Harris’ world? “I’ve always said that I’d like to be a shifter, because you’d be able to shift into random stuff,” she said. “Like, someone’s having a conversation and you’d be like, ‘I want to know what they’re talking about –– I’m going to be a fly on the wall.’ ”

True Blood On Body Rolls, Vampire Diaries On Undead Quickies, And The Best Of Comic-Con Day 3

“When do you ever get to see Alan Ball and Chris Meloni doing body rolls?” Joe Manganiello asked me shortly after the True Blood panel. When but at Comic-Con? After the trailer shown at the panel seemed to indicate that Pam is making Tara into a stripper, Joe, of course, took the opportunity to demonstrate his Magic Mike skills. And mayhem ensued (as in show creator Ball stood on his chair to show his moves, and Meloni did his version later, too).

The crowd was already worked up about sexy supes after the Vampire Diaries panel, where the stars themselves brought up all sorts of naughty ideas. Zack Roerig suggested that Elena could use Matt’s blood, or his body, for comfort now that she’s a vampire, and then went on to say he thinks Matt should get it on with Caroline’s mom, Sheriff Forbes. Not to be outdone, Paul Wesley said Elijah and Stefan should hook up. Later on, he floated the theory that vampire sex lasts only half a second, so it could even be done in line at Starbucks. That lead Ian Somerhalder to quip that vampire sex had happened right there in front of the audience and we didn’t even know it. Oh, we’d know it, Ian. We were watching you veeerry closely.

Comic-Con Fandom Has Its Benefits For Winner Of The Dodge Dart

    dodge dart winner
Comic-con is a fascinating study in fandom. People’s devotion to writers, artists, producers, actors, fx specialists and costume designers is staggering. But a few blocks away there was a different kind of fandom in action at the Dodge Dart Live in It to Win It Challenge. Contestants Ian Morris, Christie Ripley and Trent Brookshier had friends and family lined up just like any Comic-Con fandom, cheering them on throughout their ordeal. It also turns out that they had a huge part in determining the winner of the gorgeous red Dart they’ve been calling home for the past 67 hours. In addition to the many silly field-day-like challenges they had to complete — like today’s in which they saw who could fill a bucket with the most hand-squeezed OJ into a bucket in three minutes — 10 percent of their total points came from getting their friends to text votes. That’s how newlywed Trent finally snatched victory away from Ian.

“I have an amazing support system here,” he told us of his self-proclaimed “wolf pack.” Other than winning a car, Trent said he was taking home an unexpected life lesson. “I actually think I learned a few things, like how to stay focused in life. … These two were playing mind games,” he said, good naturedly indicating his opponents.

Arrow‘s Stephen Amell Got Ripped For The Sake Of Authenticity, Not For Us To Drool Over Him

People, have you seen the clips from Arrow, the CW’s new superhero show? Ostensibly, it’s about Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), a rich playboy who gets shipwrecked for five years and returns home a changed man, bent on delivering justice and saving his city from other corrupt rich folks. But when I watched those clips, I forgot anything about plot, because they really are about Amell’s abs, arms and ability to leap tall fences in a single bound. I mean, damn. When I caught up with him at San Diego Comic-Con, I asked for his training regimen, just in case, you know, I want to become a hooded vigilante myself.

“There was fight training parkuor, yoga. There was the systematic destruction of my forearms so I could block punches. There was stretching, archery and dietary restrictions,” he listed. Oh, is that all? “It was easy from the standpoint of, I didn’t have to search anywhere for motivation. I just knew that I had to do it. It wasn’t like an elective change. It was like you have to do this, and that was it.”

Game Of Thrones‘ Richard Madden Talks “Gratuitous” Sex, Says Robb Stark’s Love Scenes Are Not Just About “T And A”

So maybe I cheered when Robb Stark (played by Richard Madden) and his lady love Talisa finally got busy on the last season of Game of Thrones. What of it? The show’s characters are all about getting it on (when not beheading people) and Robb Stark is one of the sexiest guys fighting for the crown. When we caught up with Richard Madden at Comic-Con this week, he was equally as excited about finally doin’ it on-screen.

“It was nice to do a Robb Stark love scene!” he joked. “The love scenes are great.”

As for critics of the show who say the sex is a bit too much sometimes? Richard said: “Game of Thomes has so much of that in it, I think each one tells a story. It’s gratuitous sometimes; with ours it’s about love and the passion of love and not ‘let’s see some more T and A.'”

But if you want to show more T and A, don’t let us stand in your way!
