The producers of The Office are really pulling out all the stops to try and fill the vacuum left by Steve Carell. Guest stars are like CPR for elderly sitcoms, and the end of last season was loaded to the brim with big names, including Will Ferrell, Kathy Bates, Ricky Gervais, Will Arnet, Ray Romano, and more. Plus James Spader has been tapped for a recurring role on the show, but as Dunder Mifflin’s new CEO and not Carrel’s replacement, as previously assumed. And it looks like the parade of guest stars is about to continue with Josh Groban.
The pop-opera crossover heartthrob (and mom favorite) will appear as the brother of Ed Helm‘s character, Andy Bernard. Andy is a passionate a capella singer, so we have our fingers crossed for a hilarious in-office duet! Groban has been flexing his comedy muscles lately, playing a small but memorable role as Emma Stone’s douchey boyfriend in this summer’s Crazy Stupid Love. The flick starred none other than Steve Carell, so who knows..maybe that’s how Josh got the Office job in the first place. We’re excited by all of these famous faces showing up around Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, but we just hope the show go the Love Boat route and drive the guest stars into the ground.
Emma Stone arrived to and departed from the David Letterman Show in two very different outfits yesterday. She arrived in an Azzaro dress and Brian Atwood Venus pumps, which she wore on the show. The actress left the building and chatted with fans in skinny jeans and a casual cream sweater, while still teetering tall in those gorgeous heels. We’re kinda partial to denim, but damn we’ll take those shoes any day. What we wouldn’t give to have them on our feet…or even just to cradle on in our arms for a minute like a little shoe baby. Er, where were we?
Emma is busy promoting Crazy Stupid Love and The Help, and has Spiderman mania on the horizon, which only means more outfits for us to ogle at. Which of her looks would you wear out?
Earlier this week we took a moment to admire and soak in the perfection that is Ryan Gosling (and drool over his hottest looks), but can we also take a moment to appreciate the awesomeness of his Crazy, Stupid, Love costar Emma Stone? Emma is not only sexy with her fierce red hair and sultry voice, but she’s also super funny which makes her even more of a babe. And as if she couldn’t get any cooler, we realized there’s yet to be a moment where she doesn’t look utterly perfect on the red carpet. Can we just be friends already, Emma?
In appreciation of Emma we’ve created a collection of her fiercest looks from the beginning of her career in 2006 until now. Check it out!
Whatever genius decided to put Ryan Gosling‘s abs in the final shot of the Crazy, Stupid, Love trailer should reap heavy royalties from this weekend’s box office earnings. Though the all-star cast and sneak peek of funny one-liners will draw audiences out of the heat and into the movie theater, we have a feeling many ladies will be expecting eye candy o’plenty.
While the flick (thankfully) spends no small amount of time glorifying Gosling’s darling mug and perfectly-tailored suits, this smarter-than-your-average rom-com deals with the heavy subject matter of divorce. It had potential to get dark and depressing, but the chemistry of the stellar cast of Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, R-Gos and Emma Stone eased us through it with charm and likability.
The supporting actors gave mostly strong performances, particularly Marisa Tomei as a scene-stealing firecracker. Unfortunately, former America’s Next Top Model contestant Analeigh Tipton stole scenes for the opposite reason. We’ll chalk it up to her rookie onscreen status, but her overacting was at times unbearable. We also cared the least for her creepy older man-loving story line.
Tipton’s superfluous story line aside, Crazy, Stupid, Love. was enjoyable and surprisingly sweet. And while Gosling is one fine piece of man meat, he is proving himself to be an incredibly versatile, talented actor, and with two films out this summer, plus five major projects in the works, he’s not going anywhere. We aren’t complaining.
As though you needed reason beyond the “photoshop” scene, here are 10 GIFs that’ll make you rush out the door, grab a bucket of popcorn and don a bib for Gosling droolage. Read more…
Allow us to first clarify that we’ve heard nothing about a Fargo sequel, nor do we think one should happen, nor is it possible unless Peter Stormare‘s character makes an unlikely escape from prison. However, Ryan Gosling‘s recent bleach job bares an uncanny resemblance to one of the Coen Brothers‘ most legendary, woodchipper-lovin’ mad men.
In some weird way, it’s almost a relief that we’re seeing Gosling looking less than perfect on the set of The Place Beyond The Pines. After his recent streak of heart-throbbing appearances while promoting Crazy, Stupid, Love, we were starting to think he was perhaps a sexy cyborg planted on Earth to distract us from Robert Pattinson.
In case you were wondering, Emma Stone is an excellent kisser. And tastes like cherries. We have this on good authority: her Crazy Stupid Love costar, Josh Groban. Yes, that Josh Groban. The record-busting classical crossover star has crossed over yet again, this time to comedy. Josh ditched his boy -next-door image to play Emma’s douchey boyfriend, and his first time on the big screen also brought with it his first kiss (on camera, that is). We really hope this was playing during it.
“After one of our scenes, the directors said, ‘This is feeling a little goofy. Let’s try this with a kiss at the end.’ ” the screen newbie told GQ, “And I thought, ‘Holy s—! I’ve never kissed on-camera before. What do I have to do? I didn’t take that class in college.'” But Emma the screen veteran was quick to put him at ease. “Emma’s just this total pro. She pulls out her lip gloss and says, ‘It’s cherry. That cool with you?'” It’s safe to say we’d be fine with that. Sadly, the smooch didn’t make the final cut, but Josh will never forget his celluloid milestone. “That kiss shall forever be my deer in Stand by Me. It’s my moment alone. No one but me will ever be able to treasure it.”
Ryan Gosling‘s been everywhere lately, and we ain’t complainin’. The Gos is all kinds of hot whether he’s appearing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon with his famous scruffy pup George, donning a checkered suit on the red carpet or making funny faces at the paps while dining al fresco in NYC. Crazy, Stupid, Love hits theaters this Friday, and in it he plays a Rico-Sauve-With-Expertly-Tailored-Suits kind of guy (hardly the stretch, we know) but given the last role we saw him in was the epically-depressing Blue Valentine, his versatility is as impressive as his biceps.
Between his good looks, his ever-present and ever-adorable dog George, and hello, THE NOTEBOOK, Ryan Gosling will forever hold a place in our hearts. Here are the top 20 looks that nearly caused cardiac arrest.
Hey girl, Ryan Gosling’s Jimmy Fallon interview was super cute last night, probably because he knew you’d be watching it today. While visit the show to promote his upcoming movieCrazy, Stupid, Love, your boyfriend brought his floppy dog George along to the set, complete with a sock over his leg to prevent him from chewing on his foot. Ryan even taught that dog to eat an adorable apple as opposed to a big sloppy bowl of Alpo for you. The only reason we don’t think Ryan is a cyborg programmed to make us fall in love with him are those loafers. No man can be completely perfect.
If earlier this week you were wishing you were a middle-aged weather man after Ryan Gosling lifted Al Roker a la Dirty Dancing, today you’ll wish you were a Turkish bath employee, who’s stomach apparently got wedged in Ryan’s mouth during a scrub-down, according to his anecdote. ““Don’t judge me, but you know how when you eat something weird your brain sends your tongue to investigate?” Gosling timidly admitted. Oh, to be that hairy, sweaty man-belly for a day!
Cutie patooties Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling hit Rockefeller Plaza this morning to promote their promising rom-com Crazy, Stupid, Love. and nobody could have predicted what ensued. As the Today Show quartet chatted up the good-looking duo, it was suggested that Gosling reenact his Dirty Dancing-style lift he does in the film with Ann Curry. While she bashfully (and insanely!!!!) denied the opportunity for Gos to grab her waist, Al Roker gleefully stepped up to the plate. Buff Gosling didn’t turn down the challenge, and though it took three attempts, he finally got Roker airborn.

As temperatures rise and blockbusters flood the movie theaters, prepare to swim in celebs who became household names via the boob tube. While some have since established themselves as movie stars, we grew to love them on a weekly basis from our couches.
A brunette version of Gossip Girl‘s Blake Lively will play leading lady opposite Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern. Mad Men‘s January Jones will trade her 60s housewife getup for a shimmery push-up bra for her role as Emma Frost in X-Men: First Class. Ever the uptight but lovable nerd, The Office‘s Ed Helms will reprise his role in The Wolfpack in The Hangover: Part II. This summer’s token fluffy comedy Monte Carlo features plenty of TV’s hottest stars such as Glee‘s Cory Monteith, GG‘s Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy, and Wizards of Waverly Place‘s Selena Gomez.
Before the heat and humidity makes us all flee to the movie theaters for relief, check out what TV stars to keep an eye out for in this summer’s biggest flicks.
