Halle Berry’s ex, Gabriel Aubry, will soon be $20,000 a month richer. Talk about the come up of all come ups. The nastiness of their ongoing custody battle doesn’t look like it’s going to mellow out any time soon. Today is probably not one of Berry’s best. A judge ordered the actress to pay her ex $20K/month in child support for their daughter, Nahla. According to TMZ, the two are still at war, a war that has resulted in Aubry accessible to a quarter of a million dollars a year of Berry’s money. But, and this is a huge but, Nahla is in the primary care of her mother. Paying child support for a child that is in your care most of the time has to be a hard pill to swallow. Read more…
Usher Raymond’s custody battle with ex-wife Tameka Foster has us asking ourselves, ‘Is this an audition for a new drama series on cable?’ Unfortunately, the soap opera drama isn’t fiction TV, it’s real life. So far Usher’s custody battle comes complete with spitting, food throwing, tears, deadbeat dad accusations and violent threats. But wait, that’s not all. What would a troubling fight for custody of children be without accusations of Usher sleeping with the one of Tameka’s bridesmaid. And here we were thinking the shenanigans couldn’t get any worse.
TMZ reports that in a cross examination yesterday, Tameka’s attorney countered Usher’s argument that she brings different nannies in and out of the kids lives by claiming he was caught in bed with one of Tameka’s bridesmaids. Usher’s attorney objected stating this wasn’t a divorce custody so the question was irrelevant, but the judge allowed the question to stand. From the video it doesn’t look like he confirmed or denied the accusation.
Look up the word messy and you’d find a picture of this court hearing. It’s messy in the sense that it’s not even funny. Just sad. Not all things done in the dark must come to light. This hearing is one thing we wouldn’t mind being dealt with behind closed doors for no one to see, especially those two beautiful baby boys.

Things are getting nasty between R&B singer Usher Raymond and ex-wife Tameka Foster in their ongoing custody battle. Nearly three years after their split the couple can’t seem to put their differences aside. Yesterday Usher testified about his ex’s ugly temper, accusing her of threatening him and his new girlfriend. Are these seriously grown people behaving in this manner? Well, apparently, yes. TMZ reports that Usher broke down when it was time for Foster’s attorney to present the case that he was a bad dad. Foster’s attorney argued that Usher rather party than be a father to their two sons, Naviyd Ely and Usher V.
In the video Usher is visibly emotional as he wipes his tears with Kleenex. Not only he is emotional, he’s irritated by the question that he claims he already answered. As if the accusations of him being a party animal in opposed to a father wasn’t enough, Foster’s attorney pulled out photos of him partying in Europe to prove her point. This back and forth public battle is not a good look for either of them. We love Usher as an artist, but we want these two to get over themselves and do what’s best for their children. Its been three years. Move on with your lives, people!

Roughly six months after kicking off their epic custody battle (and almost three years after splitting up), Usher took the stand today to testify about his relationship with ex-wife Tameka Foster. You might be stunned to hear this, but apparently it’s ridiculous not good. “‘I’m gonna kick your a–. B— get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?'” Foster allegedly raged when the singer arrived at her property with his current girlfriend. According to Usher, Tameka “continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her.” When the pair attempted to flee, “she threw a plate of food at the car.” Now, usually when we type ‘smh’ we aren’t actually shaking our heads, but you know what? There’s a first time for everything!
Of course, it could be worse. Or was, depending on who’s remembering the details correctly. Early this month, Tameka denied threatening Usher and his girlfriend by saying “I will kill you both,” though she did acknowledge,”I did probably, out of anger, say ‘I will f— you up’ and it’s not acceptable.” We didn’t think we could be more grossed out by this whole case, until we remembered that their sons Naviyd Ely and Usher V are probably witnessing this hottest of messes with their own baby eyes. What are you teaching your kids, people? Food is for eating, not for hurling in a jealous fury!

Halle Berry seems to be gearing up for an all-out brawl with baby daddy Gabriel Aubry over their daughter Nahla Ariela. For better or for worse, it will all have to wait until Monday. Following charges of battery and child endangerment filed by Nahla’s nanny Alliance Kamdem, the Academy Award-winner actress attempted to block her model ex from seeing Nahla until the investigation is over. Judge Scott Gordon instead opted to postpone their hearing until next week, when Judge Mark Juhas returns from vacation. Judge Juhas had been working on the case prior to his leaving for vacation, and will no doubt be thrilled to have it waiting on his desk when he gets back.
Meanwhile, the nanny was denied a restraining order against Aubry, despite her allegations that Berry’s ex yelled at, insulted and at one point shoved her in the presence of his child. Kamdem even goes so far as to claim that Gabriel once denied treatment for a rash Nahla developed. The judge presiding over her filing claimed that her petition was “insufficient and speculative.” Aubry’s rep reminds TMZ, “Anyone can file a police report at any time, regardless of it being accurate.” So which situation would be worse: that this is all a deliberate fabrication or that it’s the awful truth? Both, right? Both would be worse.
Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster Raymond had such a notoriously rocky relationship, the only surprising thing about their rumored custody battle is that it took over two years for them to come to a stand-off. Oh, and the fact that Tameka specifically cited Usher’s cancellation of her Saks Fifth Avenue card in her legal filings, according to TMZ. Our eyebrows lifted ever so slightly at that one.
More importantly, however, the court documents filed by the singer’s ex this weekend in Georgia requested full custody of their two sons, alleging that Usher failed to be an adequate parenting partner in a variety of ways, including getting Tameka’s approval before hiring nannies, denying her adequate vacation time with their boys and probably just existing in general. In case you forgot all the ups and downs (predominantly downs) of Usher’s two year marriage, let us refresh your memory as to why this almost inevitable custody battle should be a surprise to no one, especially not Usher:
- May 2007: Usher lets go of his mother Jonetta Patton from her role as his manager. Nothing too out of the ordinary, until…
- July 28, 2007: Usher and Tameka cancel their wedding the morning of the event amid rumors that Usher’s mother is against the marriage. To quote a very wise woman, something in the milk ain’t clean.
- August 3, 2007: Usher and Tameka tie the knot, for better or for worse.
- November 26, 2007: Usher Raymond V enters the world.
- December 10, 2008: Lil’ Naviyd Ely Raymond is born.
- February 2009: Tameka ends up in the hospital after medical complications following plastic surgery in Brazil. Not related to their marriage in any way, just … ugh.
- June 12, 2009: Usher files for divorce, indicating that the couple has been “continuously lived in a bona fide state of separation” since July 2008.
- July 2009: Tameka claims to be shocked by Usher’s move to file to divorce since they were “intimately together as husband and wife as recently as June 6.” Wow, things must have really gone south in those six days. Also, ugh.
- September 2009: Usher calls 911 to imply that Tameka allegedly keyed his car.
- March 2011: An alleged Usher sex tape co-starring Tameka surfaces, then quickly, mercifully re-submerges.
- November 2011: Tameka wants full custody of those kids!

Thank heaven for teeny, tiny favors. It looks like Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller are agreeing to share custody of their twin sons Max and Bob. Neither Sheen or his ex-wife were present in court, but TMZ reports his lawyer Mark Gross and Mueller’s attorney Lori Howe presented a judge with the written agreement splitting physical and legal custody between the two. Considering what we already know about Brooke Mueller’s drug problems and Charlie Sheen’s custody threats, we can’t imagine the kind of horrible details that would bubble to the surface during an all-out legal brawl. Apparently neither could Charlie and Brooke, as their agreement wasn’t filed with the court and the case was taken off the court’s calendar, pretty much guaranteeing we won’t find out the extent of their relationship dysfunction. Well, beyond what we’ve learn from Sheen’s twitter and Brooke Mueller’s Paris Hilton show cameo, all of which is…deeply upsetting.

Given how Halle Berry’s custody case with Gabriel Aubry threatened to go nuclear, we were both surprised and delighted when the couple declined to let things burst into publicly embarrassing flames, and Berry returned to New Year’s Eve filming. Just when you think someone is throwing gasoline on the fire, it turns out to be plain old water. Now that Halle and her ex can be in the same room with each other with flipping over tables, Berry opened up about her custody battle over her daughter Nahla, and how going to court can actually help you be a better parent. “When there’s a child involved, it’s a relief when you can resolve things in a good way,” Berry said in an interview with Extra. “Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents.”
Earlier this year, their custody battle was awash with accusations that Halle was enraged that Gabriel Aubry went out with Kim Kardashian, as well as accusations of racial insensitivity and gold-diggery. According to Halle, taking things to the authorities is what eventually brought both parents to their senses. “But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse,” Berry, currently dating Olivier Martinez, explained. “We need a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I’m so happy we’ve arrived at that place — because for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life.” Maybe Halle and Gabriel should just have a full-time judge around at all the family events, just in case: high school graduation, college graduation, Nahla’s wedding. Seems like paying his or her salary would be well worth fewer screaming matches.

Charlie Sheen announced he was writing a book yesterday, though the actor might want to wait until the most insane tale of our times finishes writing itself first. “the title of my book has finally been delivered thru vast and extensive Lunar channels. “Apocalypse Me” Warlock Latin for WINNING. c,” Sheen tweeted. High school English teachers should just go ahead and add it to the curriculum now; this is pretty much the best American authors have to offer.
Charlie already has a new name to add to his Acknowledgments page next to Mel Gibson and Sean Penn, now that Russell Brand texted Sheen his support. “He is a b*tchin’ dude,” Sheen told RadarOnline about Brand. “It’s radical… it’s just love, to see a giant marquee name come through on your caller ID, it’s like, winning!” Meanwhile, two ladies that deserve at least their own chapter (right between “How Gnarly Is Too Gnarlicious?” and “How To Get Tiger Blood Out Of Raw Silk”) might get edited out entirely if they aren’t careful. Sheen is threatening a custody battle with Denise Richards after reportedly settling his disputes with Brooke Mueller. “Not sure what all the legal noise is about… just verbally reached a deal with B. no court mon. yay….,” Sheen tweeted yesterday. Meanwhile, Brooke Mueller’s Sheen drama will appear on her reality show The World According To Paris, which she stars in with Paris Hilton. Of course, if books aren’t really your thing, there’s always the new SiriusXM Charlie Sheen station. All Charlie news, all the time: just the way books, radio and the Internet were meant to be.
Do you find yourself wanting, nay, needing more Sheen sound bites? Do you want to be able to wake up at 3:00 a.m. and find out exactly where Charlie has been riding his mercury surfboard? Well, worry no more because apparently Charlie Sheen has a Twitter account. Man, Kanye is going to have to hire a think tank to devise a new attention-getting platform, once Charlie takes over his old one. President of CBS Les Moonves criticized Sheen early today, snarking “I wish [Sheen] would have worked this hard to promote himself for an Emmy,” but we’re guessing we haven’t seen anything yet.
Not content to dominate all of media, Charlie is also out to control his family life as well, or at least his family members. According to RadarOnline, Sheen wants full custody of his twins with Brooke Mueller. “Charlie believes Brooke, at present, is not in a position to care for the children with the love and attention they need,” a source claims. “He has consulted with a lawyer about what move he can take next.” Ah, but why ask an actual competent legal professional when he can ask millions of totally uninvested bystanders? It’s like America was just waiting for a marriage of their two favorite things: social media and unstoppable train wrecks.
