Oh sorry! You might have thought that sound was a weeping tea kettle or an asthmatic mouse or Garth from Wayne’s World having an emotional meltdown, but it was actually us trying to stifle our sobs while watching Anna Kendrick and Kristin Chenoweth sing “For Good” from the musical Wicked. Those two are like tiny, hilarious angels! Luckily for us, a fan shot the gorgeous duet at Trevor Live in Hollywood last night. The evening of song and dance and quiet, happy crying benefited the Trevor Project, which provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth and oh god, here come the waterworks again!
Obviously we knew the original Wicked cast member and Pitch Perfect star would crush the already tear-jerking song. It’s almost enough to erase the memory of tween Anna singing that Cabaret song from our minds! Almost! Kendrick and Chenoweth were joined at the event by a host of other performers and famous audience members, from Amy Poehler to Sarah Hyland to Katy Perry, all of whom hopefully remembered to bring some Kleenex in their tiny purses. We can’t even talk about how good Kristin’s hair…looks…without…getting…misty. Oh, why fight it? Look upon their adorableness and weep:
3…2…1…Squeeeee! Justin Bieber has picked you out something nice for the holidays,, and it’s cuter than eight puppies pulling a kitten Santa Claus in a tiny sleigh through a daycare center. A daycare center that cares only for babies that laugh too much. And then maybe there’s a baby duckling in there for good measure. During his Justin Bieber: Home for the Holidays concert special in Toronto, Justin brought his three-year-old sister Jazzy on stage for a heart-meltingly (and, okay, ear-splittingly) cuddly duet of “Baby.” It will make your heart grow three sizes this day….and your ear drums basically close of. Which only makes the video that much cuter. It’s like we always say: every time an adorable toddler shrieks, Justin Bieber gets his wings.
Excuse us for assuming that a Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez duet might be a little too “pink bejeweled cupcakes frosted with teeny tiny hearts and bunny kisses” for our taste. As the two littlest divas proved last night at Madison Square Garden with their duet version of Gomez’s song “Who Says?,” however, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez together are sweet without being saccharine, as well as utterly charming. Watching them belt it out at the last stop on Swift’s “Speak Now” concert tour reminds us of singing TLC’s “Waterfalls” in our best friend’s back yard. Except Taylor and Selena are performing for thousands of shrieking fans, and we were singing into an old hair brush. Either way, somebody‘s mom is getting misty-eyed at this. Oh yeah, and us.
Because sometimes the universe is kind and responds to our deepest wants and desires, a Lady Gaga Cher duet is on the horizon. “Can’t wait till GaGa puts her Voice on ” The Greatest Thing ” SHE WILL ROCK IT SO FKNG HARD !,” Cher’s Twitter read last night. The song “The Greatest Thing” is slated to appear on the Burlesque star’s upcoming album, as well as an album we’re putting together called Now That’s What We Call Appropriately-Named Music!
It makes sense that the song was destined to feature both divas, seeing as how Lady Gaga and RedOne gave it to Cher to record in the first place. It seems almost trite to assume that this song will be a gay club hit, but then again is a trite to assumed that air would make an excellent thing to breathe?
