Ashley Greene was my last interview of the day during the Breaking Dawn press junket, and I entered her hotel suite at the Four Seasons at 5 p.m. expecting to find her as tired as I was — if not more. She had just come off the European press tour for the film and was now knee-deep in promotion stateside, a whirlwind of interviews and appearances. But the actress, who was recently named the new face of DKNY, was chipper and chatty, dressed in a silky red tank, jeans and sky-high patent-leather beige heels. When I told her I wanted to geek out about fashion with her for the entire interview but was gonna try not to, she joked, “But for a portion, at least!” Sounded good to me!
TheFABlife: What’s helped you grow your style and fashion sense over the years?
Ashley Greene: I think it’s a lot of experiences. With Twilight, there’s been a lot of red carpets, fan events, press and talk shows. I work with a stylist named Christina Ehrlich and she’s been so incredible. She’s very collaborative and never tries to force anything on me.
TFL: Have you learned from past fashion missteps?
AG: I think one of the first mistakes you can make is wearing something because someone told you to wear it. And I’ve done it! We’ve all done it. [Ed. note: Yep, we have!]
We hopped on the phone this week with Twilight Saga star Kiowa Gordon, who is best known for playing Jacob Black’s werewolf BFF Embry in everyone’s favorite uber-franchise. Did you know Kiowa scored the role (out of thousands) at an open audition, after Stephenie Meyer - his friend from church – encouraged him to give it a go? That should tell you how much talent this kid’s got tucked away in his back pocket.
Kiowa – who will be at Comic-Con this weekend! – was gracious enough to gab with us for a while about shooting those barefoot werewolf scenes (they have special foot padding!), his musical aspirations with his band Touche and his favorite lady character in the Twilight Saga. Hint: he likes his real-life girlfriend best.

We sat down with Adam Lambert today (more on that swoon-tastic moment next week), and the first thing we spoke about was yesterday’s death of innovative fashion designer Alexander “Lee” McQueen. The singer showed up to our interview in a McQueen shirt in honor of the late luminary, and expressed his sadness over the designer’s alleged suicide numerous times during out chat. It’s a great loss for all of us, but for someone like Adam who gets fashion (and by “get” we mean he wore the fiercest patent leather YSL boots today, while we stomped around in Steve Maddens) it’s felt a bit deeper. In the clip above, he shares with us his grief over losing a sartorial “visionary.”
Obnoxious blogger Perez Hilton recently reported on his typo-filled “fashion website,” CoCo Perez, that Noah Cyrus is launching a line of children’s lingerie with her best pal Emily Grace. As we dug around the site belonging to the line’s designer, Ooh! La, La! Couture, we found nothing that even resembled lingerie, nor did we see any mention of Miley‘s little sister as a partner. So we did a little investigative reporting and called up their office. Perez and his blog slaves should try it sometime!
The good news: Perez’s story is “completely false.” Those words come directly from Jennifer, one of the line’s co-founders. In our brief chat she described her and her partner as “stay at home moms who have daughters.” As for CoCo Perez’s story that they’re responsible for making sexy kids clothes? “We never, never imagined making a line of children’s lingerie. It’s not it the pipelines.”
Oh! La, La! makes cute tutu dresses, and the line is being done with Noah’s BFF Emily Grace, who is a Disney Channel actress and a frequent companion of Noie’s on the red carpet. It’s called “The Emily Grace Collection” and the main purpose of the line (according to their site) is to “promote and raise awareness for her foundation, ‘Lollipops and Rainbows.'” Adds Emily’s publicist Terri Tex, “Noah is not involved in designing the line, but is supporting Emily.”
The pair often wears the dresses on the Noie and Em Show, and they’re cute, appropriate and definitely not lingerie. Nice try Perez! We’d say “stay classy!” but we’re guessing that’s not even possible at this point.
VH1 has gotten a hold of two exclusive 20 second clips from Adam Lambert‘s new video for his single “Whataya Want From Me,” which will premiere in its entirety on VH1 on Friday morning between 6am-10am. Check out the clips for 40 seconds of Lambert-licious goodness. There’s no glam to be found in his new video, it’s emo Lambert at his best and we’re swooning hard. Enjoy, and we’ll see you here on Friday for the full video premiere!
Adam has just been announced as a presenter at this year’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards; he’s be presenting alongside Sarah Silverman, which will be ahhh-mazing! This is the true story of how one self-described “sh*tbag dork” used Twitter to connect with mega-star and all-around King of Cool, Diddy, and convinced him to appear as guest at his upcoming comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York. Sounds impossible, right? But all it took for our longtime friend Chris Gethard (pictured above) was a Twitter account, a hashtag, a bunch of eager participants, and a dream. And of course – a celebrity who gets what the Web 2.0 world is all about: connection and communication, in 140 characters or less.
We chatted with Chris about how he hooked up with Diddy, what it was like talking to him on both Twitter and the phone (how 1995!) and what to expect when he hosts the hip-hop mogul at The Chris Gethard Show in February.
