How terrific does Emma Watson look here? Notice the darker hair? We think the color works on her so well. The 21-year-old actress posed at a photo call for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 at The Renaissance St Pancras Hotel in London yesterday. The Rafael Lopez dress she chose is flounced and fab and for some strange reason gives us flashbacks of the dress Emma wore at …the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 premiere last year in London! Maybe she wanted some sort of continuity?
We know Lopez’s frock is going to inspire either extreme love of hate, because in our experience, people have strong reactions to a good ruffle. And considering that’s exactly what the hemline is, we’re guessing folks may not fancy it too much. But they should — because it’s a lovely, lovely dress. Emma’s worn them with a pair of pretty, appropriate black Chanel pumps. Everything matches!
Selena Gomez is rolling solo through London this week (where for art thou, Biebs?) and showed up at the Hospital Club today loaded with sparkles and bright lips that popped. The starlet is in town to promote Disney Channel HD (and, we assume, her movie Monte Carlo) and we love her look – it’s casual but still glamorous enough for a red carpet and totally attainable for us copycats. Her lips add a daring element to her otherwise tame get-up — are you feelin’ her bold lip color?
Damn! The Duchess is hitting it out of the ball park with her wardrobe choices. We posted about the first slew of Kate Middleton‘s outfits a couple of days ago at the start of her North American tour with her husband, Prince William. The majority of you voted that you loved all three of her outfits. And since we love us some fascinators, we were pretty fascinated with Kate’s whimsical maple leaf hat next! Especially when matched with that cream Reiss Nanette dress.
The next lot of outfits kept up her winning run. The picture on the left is her in Issa London again. The purple dress and maple leaf brooch are both to die for, and she wore them to the end-of-day Canada Day celebrations. In the middle we have a grey Kensington dress by late designer, Catherine Walker, who passed away last year from cancer. Check out the amazing detailing on it! Princess Diana was a huge fan of Walker’s, and Carole Middleton – Kate’s mum – wore the label at the Royal Wedding as well. Kate wore the dress on their third day in Canada which started with a tree plating session at Ottawa’s Rideau Hall. Here’s the weepy part — they planted a tree next to the one William’s parents planted when they visited (it was also his first birthday). The last dress on the right is a lovely Erdem dress again, this time, for a visit to Quebec City. It’s a navy blue, lace overlay navy Jacquenta dress from his pre-fall 2011 collection.
Look at the gallery below for more pictures. We’ve also included some adorable ones of Kate and William dressed up in chef’s coats for a visit to Institut de tourisme et hôtellerie du Quebec in Montreal where they actually took part in a cooking class! As always, we’re going to ask you which of her three outfits you like best.
And here we thought it was a slow news day! Duchess Kate and Prince (Duke?) William are visiting Canada this week, and she arrived in Ottawa today wearing this amazing red maple leaf fascinator. Yep, there’s nothing like shouting out a country with your head gear. It just goes to show Kate has both great fashion sense and a great sense of humor. Be our BFF, woncha gurl?
Well, at least Jennifer Aniston has figured out her signature look. The Horrible Bosses star walked the red carpet at the premiere in Los Angeles last night wearing — what else? — a Little Black Dress. Up close it’s really quite beautiful with intricate beading and a sexy racerback cut. She paired it with her go-to strappy black heels and some simple, understated jewelry. She looks lovely, as always, it’s just…we want more. Some color! Some flair! Some pop! Is that too much to ask?
Kids love Selena Gomez! Parents love Selena Gomez! Justin Bieber loves Selena Gomez!Everyone loves Selena Gomez! Unless you love Justin Bieber a little too much, in which case you probably aren’t as fond of her (we’re looking at you, “Beliebers”). But otherwise, what’s not to love? The teen dream has won an Emmy for her role on Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place, she makes pop tracks so sweet you have to brush your speakers after listening and she’s cute! Did we mention she’s cute? Yes, very very very cute. So cute. And she has a tasty yet tasteful red carpet style far beyond her eighteen (eighteen!?!?!) years.
She’s already conquered our televisions, stereos and hearts, and now Selena’s invading the big screen in Monte Carlo, which opens nation-wide today! So in honor of her big moment, let’s take a look back at the fashion wiz’s twenty hottest looks, from the beaches of Bieber to the carpets of crimson. Enjoy!
They’re here! Well, by here, we mean Canada but we’re at least on the same continent! Duchess Kate and her husband Prince William (or The Duke of Cambridge) landed yesterday to begin their tour of the country. While everyone’s super excited about their visit, what everyone’s really psyched about is what Kate will wear! And just like Michelle Obama, Kate has her own website that chronicles all her outfits called What Kate Wore. They’re really going to have to be on it, because our lovely Duchess has already had three wardrobe changes in one day.
First up — as you can see from the picture on the left — Kate wore a Manon dress by Roland Mouret for their flight to Canada. She paired it off with a navy jacket by Smythe, Manolo Blahnik Calogera heels and a Mulberry Polly Push Lock bag. Gorgeous! For the official welcoming ceremony to Canda, Kate emerged from the plane wearing the Cecile dress by Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu. It’s the lovely lace overlay in the middle. That’s quite a smart diplomatic move! Then for a barbecue honoring youth volunteers, which you can see on the right, Kate wore a bird print dress by Issa. It’s the same one Kate wore the night before she married William! So far, it’s a big win because we love all three dresses. What you’re favorite look of the three?
Rihanna has one. Angelina Jolie too. So does Kate Winslet, Megan Fox, Kristen Stewart, Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham. Each starlet is a professional red carpet poser, busting our some serious fierce face every time they step in front of the camera. You know the look: pursed but relaxed lips, sucked in checks, dagger eyes, a chin tilt… it takes years of hard work to perfect such a physical masterpiece. We’ve compiled our favorite pics of the 25 most gold medal worthy celebrity posers — check out the gallery below and vote for your favorite fierce face!
Yes. Just, yes. Ashley Greene, you win this round! The actress kicked fashion butt at the Salvatore Ferragamo Resort 2012 show in New York City yesterday. She rocked a sleek, white Ferragamo dress with fierce little red pumps. Her BFF Ted Gibson did her hair, as always, and the houndstooth clutch pulled the whole look together in one sweet package of perfection. We love to see actresses own their style, and Ashley is really coming into her own on the red carpet with the classic Audrey Hepburn-ish glam with a dash of sex kitten thing she has going on. We are so bananas for it.
We’ve noticed a color combination pop up more than usual on red carpets and magazine covers of late. It’s a trend within a trend, if you will. Orange and purple outfits are everywhere, making color blocking one of the biggest fashion must-do’s this summer. Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Cole were pitted against each other during The X-Factor and also took each other on by wearing the same shades. A pregnant Jessica Alba wore an orange and purple dress at the CFDA awards. Kim Kardashianwore a not so flattering version at her perfume launch in the UK, copying Jennifer Lawrence‘s Flare Magazine cover. Camilla Belle put her spin on it at a Pre-Grammy brunch, adding green pants to the mix. Finally, Rihanna rocked high-waisted orange pants and a purple crop-top in the UK.
But do we like it? Do we want to see more or do we want this trend to go away?  Who wore it best and who was a big fashion fail? Take a look after the jump at our gallery and then vote in our polls so we know what you’re thinking. Feel free to comment too!
