Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Garrett Hedlund were all on hand to celebrate New Moon director Chris Weitz‘s latest film, A Better Life. The actors — who will be promoting their own films, On The Road and Abduction, this fall — posed for photos on the red carpet, checked out the movie and hung out at the after party.A Better Life is a step in a different direction for Weitz, who also helmed American Pie and About A Boy. The story follows a Mexican immigrant working in California illegally, as he tries to carve out a better life (OIC what we did there) for him and his son.
We were pleasantly surprised to see that Kristen’s red carpet outfit was as “her” as it could possibly get: black v-neck tee, 7 for Mankind denim jeggings, and some killer Brian Atwood pumps. Kristen later changed into sneakers (duh) for the after party, where she shared some laughs with Chris and Taylor. What do you think of her dressed down look? Do you love it, or do you wish she ditched the jeans for one of her infamous minis?
Maybe you’d though that particular flesh ensemble would have ended up in a landfill by now; after all, it’s been nearly a year since the 2010 VMAs. Fortunately for historical memory, the scientific community has jerky technology beyond your wildest imagination. Entertainment Weekly reported that Lady Gaga’s meat dress will be displayed at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Women Who Rock exhibit, where hungry Clevelanders will be leaving hand prints on the glass starting June 16.
Gaga’s wardrobe has moved on to more nipple-oriented fare more recently, but we’ve snapped into a Slim Jim. We know the aliens are going to find this dress 10,000 years from now and assume we all wore raw meat gowns. Maybe that’s Gaga’s ever-lasting legacy to the world: that the future will think the entire human race was this fabulous.
While Emma Watson’s Vogue cover might make the Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part II star seems like just your regular ol’ beautiful billionaire, inside that gorgeous wealthy shell is a human being just like your or us straining to break free. Well, like you or us if we were either good-looking or rich. “I have had no control over my life. I have lived in a complete bubble,” the actress says about her Harry Potter days in the interview. “They found me and picked me for the part. And now I’m desperately trying to find my way through it.” Oh Emma. If only she could know the real freedom that comes from using public transportation, or buying clothes than are worth less than most people’s monthly income. Having an old man fall asleep on you on the bus is the stuff real life is made of!
“I have felt for the last ten years I have had this battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education. It’s been this uphill struggle,” Emma says, with regards to her decision to study briefly at Brown University. “I was Warner Bros.’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult.” As Watson explains, “I have to really enjoy the good things because it makes the bad things OK.” It’s a good thing she has literally tens of millions of good things to enjoy.
How is it possible that a 13-year-old girl is our new style icon? That’s what we’re wondering as we ogle at pics of Super 8 star Elle Fanning, whose quirky yet chic fashion picks have made her a red carpet star in no time. She’s edgy yet age appropriate, with a bit of hippie California girl mixed in. The look works, she stands out amongst her peers over and over again, and not just because of her height and striking features (though they certainly help). Check out the actress’ style evolution over the years below. We’re particularly fond of her ever-growing eye wear collection. You?
Leave it to Gisele Bundchen to wear the most beautiful dress in the world to AFI’s 39th Annual Achievement Award honoring Morgan Freeman event last night. The sparkles! The silhouette! The train! The pink sash with a bow! Oh, don’t get us started on the pink sash with a bow. The entire outfit is classy and glamorous while still showing enough skin to satisfy those seeking a little sex appeal. In short, we’d like it shipped to our apartment stat. Gis, just get it dry cleaned and we’ll happily take it off your hands. Whaddaya say gurl? No? We’re annoying you? Okay, we’ll at least we tried.
Ke$ha wants you to lay off birds for their feathers, y’all. No joke! There’s a ton of stuff just laying out there that you can recycle into your accessories and still be animal friendly. Bones, feathers and the like. In a series of tweets, the singer asked her followers to start looking at more eco-friendly options, like she does! Ke$ha’s first tweet read, “im hearing about roosters that have been plucked and hurt or even killed for thier feathers…” This news seemed to distress her, so her next tweet followed with, “i’d love to give u guys my own personal feather contact. she’s totally animal friendly + recycles bones + feathers to make all my accessories.” And she really did!
The details are on Ke$ha’s twitter account, if you’d like to be birds of the same feather! Now, if you can get past all the “bones” spiel, it’s really quite nice of her to be so considerate to chickens and so on. But considering that she’s also — how to put this politely — weird, her next tweet made us shake our heads in plain bewilderment. Ke$ha tweeted, “i recycle bodyparts. im looking at all my crazybeautiful fans teeth right now!! i got a box of em and ive never been so excited !!!” Human teeth… yay?
A little after a month of tying the knot Prince (Duke) William and his Duchess Kate Catherine (neé Middleton) have already been thrown into the official meet-and-greet cycle. First up, the royal couple met the Obamas where Catherine’s outfit was widely publicized and promptly sold out.
Next up was their first official black tie event together, something we were waiting for because we needed to see the Duchess go glam! William and Kate attended a charity dinner yesterday — the 10th Annual Absolute Return for Kids gala — at Kensington Palace. The 900 guests paid a cool $16,000 to attend the fancy dinner with the royal duo, while Mark Ronson feted them with music! Catherine did not disappoint with the outfit, shimmering in a Jenny Packham gown with lots of Swarovski crystal detailing, with her glossy hair down. Works for us!
For a second we were afraid we’d fallen asleep in a time machine (again) and woken up during the Royal wedding; that’s how elegant and classy Coco and Ice-T vow renewal photos look to us. The planet’s favorite couple renewed their vows this past Saturday at the W Hotel in Hollywood, celebrating their ten-year old marriage with a small group of loved ones. Surprisingly, Coco did not bear crawl in with the rings balanced on her famous ass, nor did any part her gown appear to be made of loose-weave fishnet (that we could tell; we’re no Vera Wang). Instead, she wore more fabric than her entire wardrobe spanning the last decade combined. This just goes to show every woman can chose to be a princess if she wants to be. And if a princess wants to have just a hint of areola exposed as she celebrates her special day, well, who are we to stop her?
Well guys, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards has come and gone, and it feels like the day after Christmas around these parts. We’re still high on our Kristen Stewart fashion freak out from tonight’s MTV Movie Awards. Our favorite of favorites dashed down the red carpet in a bold Balmain mini covered in sparkles and safety pins (stylist Tara Sen, we bow to you). Cue Carly Simon singing “Nobody Does It Better,” because truly, NO ONE DOES. Kristen kept her hair down and loose and her Christian Louboutin heels sky high. Do you love the actress’ look? Hit up our poll and tell us! And shout us out on Twitter too, we’ll be there all night: @thefablife.
