Rihanna Goes Chic And Sleek At Met Gala

Rihanna was one of the last stars to arrive at the Met Gala tonight, and boy did she not disappoint. We’re used to Riri rocking wild outfits, but this look was chic and refined. The black Tom Ford gown hugged her body in every right way, the neck line was simple and classic and the conservative long sleeves tossed attention to the sexy cut of the back. She kept her hair up and simple and her heels sky-high. We always expect the unexpected with Rihanna, and this move was no different. Her look tonight was timeless and glamorous but still totally her own.

Stars Get Ritzy For The CinemaCon Awards, Charlize Theron Wears Sexiest Black Dress Ever

Before we say anything about what everyone else wore, we need to say this … HOLY SH–, CHARLIZE THERON! How does she do it? And by that we mean, how does she look like that? The CinemaCon 2012 Awards Ceremony went down at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas last night, and Charlize slinked down the red carpet wearing the sexiest, raciest Dion Lee LBD in the history of all little black dresses. The fact that she wore strappy Giuseppe Zanotti heels didn’t hurt either. Take a bow, Charlize.

Also wearing black at the same event were Jennifer Garner and Michelle Pfeiffer. Jennifer wasn’t quite working her Michael Kors dress, perhaps because it should have been worn with different shoes. The ones she had on looked like bandages and were far too clunky. Michelle defied age in her a sheer-panelled dress that showed off a rocking bod. Our favorite, other than Charlize, would be Chloe Moretz who wore a metallic dark blue Kenzo dress with hidden slant pockets.

Other celebrities who attended included the likes of Josh Hutcherson, Anna Faris and Jeremy Renner, to name a few.

Kim Kardashian, Olivia Munn Bring The Heat For Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Party

The Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue party went down last night in L.A. at the Greystone Manor, and guests took the “hot” part of the invitation quite seriously. Kim Kardashian led the way working it in a sparkling silver strapless dress with neon pink pumps. Carmen Electra looked quite spectacular wearing a beige dress with gold vertical detailing, gathered at the waist. Olivia Munn picked a tight LBD with black booties, with an multi-strand orange necklace for color relief. Yep. Legs galore, right? Other stems that looked equally great were Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett‘s, showcased in a tight blue plunging mini. Jennifer Morrison went that route too, in a flounced frock, and she also debuted a new auburn ‘do. The likes of Shannen Doherty, Monica and Busy Philipps were also spotted wearing little dresses. Aubrey O’Day wore a maxi, but brought out the cleavage. Balancing out all the yin, was some pretty hot yang — Kellan Lutz. ‘Nuff said. Check out the gallery to see for yourself.

Some Hits, Some Misses On The Tribeca Film Festival Vanity Fair Red Carpet

Considering yesterday’s Tribeca Ball red carpet was more meh than fabulous, we expected the Tribeca Film Festival’s Vanity Fair party to up the ante. Sadly, it didn’t. There were some stand-outs. Jessica White nailed it again in a cream gown with lace overlay and a sexy slit up the draped thigh. Helena Christensen looked fresh and fine in a summery white cocktail frock which was yards better than her pastoral maxi at the Tribeca Ball. Sticking to the white theme was Leelee  Sobieski wore a very simple Jil Sander gown (see above right) that we absolutely love. Unfortunately, she killed it with a weird Star Wars-esque ‘do.

There were a couple of other head-scratchers too. Like why would Catherine Zeta-Jones put on that terribly unflattering metallic gray Michael Kors frock? Why would someone as gorgeous as Lily Cole put on a glorified sack? Why would Dakota Fanning (who was also a juror in the World Competition Category) put on a weird headband when her hot pink Lanvin dress was lovely enough on its own? To answer all these questions and to ask a couple of your own, head to the gallery to check out what everyone wore.

Fashion At The Tribeca Ball: Who Was Fab, Who Was Meh And Who Was Awful?

We’d like to save the best for last, so we’re going to start with who didn’t hit the mark at last night’s Tribeca Ball in New York. The event was honoring Robert de Niro, FYI, and was held at the New York Academy of Art. We’ll start with Solange Knowles on the left. Love the coral lips and print blouse, but not exactly loving those high-waisted, shiny trousers. Taking “shiny” to a whole new level is Carla Gugino, in the middle. She’s such a beautiful woman, but that bouffant hair is all wrong, especially when paired with that red, satin dress. We get she was trying to go retro, but couldn’t get it right. Then there’s Paz de la Huerta on the right. We don’t even know what to say, or where to begin. Just … NO.

We’re moving on to the meh pile next, which comprises Padma Lakshmi and Helena Christensen. To see what they wore, and what we have to say, click after the jump. The best dressed lot also awaits you! Read more…

We’re Positively Gleeful About Dianna Agron’s Fashionable Three-For-Three

And that’s how it’s done. If you’re going to have three wardrobe changes in one day, you may as well make each one count. Take Dianna Agron, for instance. While Glee fans are on the edge of our seats, hoping we’ll find out what happened to Quinn in that texting-and-driving incident tonight, she was in New York yesterday, and commitments dictated that she had to make a trio of quick changes through the day. Her stylist deserves a round of applause because we love each one. The red-and-white striped dress on the left is her version of casual. We’d like that tweedy jacket, please. Who thinks that may be Chanel? The awesome black-and-white schoolgirl outfit in the middle is what she wore to visit the MTV studios. It’s hard to pull off a bow like that without looking twee. Dianna ends up making it look elegant. Lastly, the picture on the right is a yellow-and-navy printed Alice + Olivia dress, which she had on for a taping of The View. Take a bow, Ms Agron. You just made a three-for-three.

Orange You Glad You Wore That? Celebrities Embrace Summer Brights

That’s an interesting shade to pop up in three different spots on the same day. Looks like celebrity-town is fully embracing the spring spirit and bringing out bright colors. Orange, for instance, was the shade of the day, yesterday. Tina Fey wore it from head-to-toe in New York while filming 30 Rock with the extremely delicious James Marsden. Elsewhere in New York, a very pregnant Kourtney Kardashian wore the same punchy hue in a loose A-line shift with skyscraper heels. We’re totally digging her maternity wardrobe, but wonder how she’s navigating herself in those shoes.

Lastly, Paula Patton was a breath of fresh air in a vermilion flirty frock while filming Extra at The Grove in L.A. for Pepsi NEXT. That’s three great looks, and we’re sold. By that we mean, we’re finally packing away our dark, depressing clothes and opening up to some summer fun. Which silhouette do you like best? We’re leaning towards Kourtney’s, only a tad more taken in since we’re not preggers. Although, our regular body type may just be Kourt’s preggo physique because that woman is tiny.

VH1 Gets Dolled Up For The Oscars With Help From Halston, Rachel Gilbert And Aruna Seth

Guys, look. I’m a regular gal. I like to hide behind my glasses and I’m currently wearing cheap neon yellow sneakers, Gap jeans, and a t-shirt I stole from my BFF Sarah in 1999. So needless to say I was way nervous when tackling the ol’ “what to wear to my first Oscars red carpet” conundrum, which, I might add, is a wonderful conundrum to have. Luckily I was placed in very capable hands and hit up the Kodak Theater in this ridiculously gorgeous Halston dress and sparkly Aruna Seth heels, ie: my dream shoes. (Humblebrag: Pippa Middleton wore the same pair to the Royal Wedding reception.) Thanks to both designers for making my red carpet look come together!

Underneath all that glamorous goodness I had an army of synthetic fibers working overtime to keep things in line. I owe a heartfelt thank you to a serious set of Spanx, a ridiculous looking yet magical adhesive bra, and lots of double-sided tape. And it turns out I’m not alone! We also talked to the pros – Viola Davis, Diddy and Glenn Close, to name a few – about their gritty glam secrets, too.

Very appropriate, given that Angelina Jolie’s leg (@angiesrightleg) must be setting some kind of record for most Twitter followers for a limb gained in a single evening. From Jennifer Lopez’s almost wardrobe malfunction to Billy Crystal’s epic jowls, we have our list of faves from the night. Head on down to the gallery below to check ‘em out!
