The 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball Has A Full Red Carpet

What a charming name for a ball. The 2011 UNICEF Snowflake Ball took place at Cipriani’s, New York, and Sarah Jessica Parker really took it upon herself to dress accordingly, looking like a very convincing snowflake in a white silk, cut-work and feather trimmed Louis Vuitton dress — part of the same collection Kate Moss closed earlier this year. Looking at lot more slinky were Uma Thurman and Angie Harmon, who nailed it in a skintight green dress and a shimmery halter gown, respectively.

Other celebrities included couples like  Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle (who also looked great in a red gown slit high up the thigh) and Mark Ruffalo with his delightfully named wife, Sunrise. Vera Farmiga, Zoe Kravitz and Natasha Bedingfield were also spotted, the latter two wearing color-blocked black and white. To check it all out, click through our gallery below.

British Fashion Awards: Kate Moss Vs Victoria Beckham Vs Kate Hudson

The British Fashion Awards took place last night at the Savoy Hotel in London. Victoria Beckham won the Designer Brand of the Year, which she accepted wearing her own design (for a full list of winner click here). Vicky looked fab and slightly goth in a black cowl-necked, floor-length gown with a sharp pleated skirt and daringly low plunging back. She got really emotional accepting the award and even teared up while saying, “I’m so sorry for crying. I’m being so rubbish.”

Kate Moss went the quirky route, wearing a bizarre fishnet body-stocking gown that was so absurd, it actually worked. Kate Hudson also added some Hollywood glamor with a cut-out Stella McCartney gown. All three looked hot, but not in your regular, cookie-cutter way. So, who do you feel was best dressed? Let us know in the poll below.

The Breaking Dawn Shortlist: Who Rocked The Minis?

There were gowns aplenty on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 black carpet. But we sifted through piles of photographs and found lots of leg as well. Many celebrities rocked mini dresses, holding their own against the likes of Kristen Stewart, Ashley Greene and Elizabeth Reaser. Ashley Tisdale wore tight, lacy white and leopard-print booties. Kylie Jenner looked lovely in a nude A-line mini with a cinched waist, while sister Kendall Jenner wore a similar peach version. Cassie Scerbo (whutup, Make It or Break It fans) worked it in a bodycon, red number and Melissa Joan Hart wore the same color, only in a more elegant, ’40s silhouette. We’d also like to give special mention to 12-year-old Kiernan Shipka — a.k.a. Sally on Mad Men — who looked lovely and age appropriate in a black and navy blue bell-skirted frock. She may just be our pick for best dressed of the night.

Check out our gallery and let us know who got it right and who got short changed by their stylist.

By now, we’ve become cross-eyed staring at all the Breaking Dawn fabulousness that’s been pouring over our computer screens from last night’s black-carpet premiere. This time, the selection of best picks we’ve brought to you, were chosen for one particular reason. Each fabulous gown highlighted, to perfection, a particular body part of the wearer. Ashley Greene‘s custom made Donna Karen drew attention to those amazingly toned arms. Christian Serratos‘ sexy hot-pink Alexander McQueen revealed her beautifully tanned shoulders and Elizabeth Reaser‘s maroon sequined gown put the yummy in the Mummy Cullen. Hello, cleavage! If you have a sternum like that, plunging gowns are your best friend.

So now that we’ve broken it down to body parts — because we’re getting into the spirit of things — we’re curious to know who your favorite is. Vote, vote, vote!

The Bambi Awards: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Cleavage Vs. Lady Gaga’s Crazy

The stage was set last night at the 2011 Bambi Awards in Wiesbaden, Germany. On one hand we have the blinding column that is Gwyneth Paltrow‘s cleavage, which was lovingly showcased in a glittering, emerald-green Elie Saab gown, slashed down to the navel. This, in our heads, is equivalent to Jennifer Lopez wearing that dress to the 2000 Grammys. Gwynnie, who’s normally so genteel and Goop-y, threw us for a loop with all that sequins and skin.

We also have Lady Gaga wearing what looks like scrap fabric from Bjork‘s swan dress, topped with something Charlize Theron could totally rock in Snow White and the Huntsman. And then Gaga and Karl Lagerfeld met up onstage and the whole place imploded from excessive fierceness. This is also after Gwyneth presented Justin Bieber with an award, causing the auditorium to implode from excessive fame. And Justin was this close to imploding because he was at eye level with GP’s decolletage. As you can tell, there was a lot of imploding going on at the Bambi Awards. Jessica Alba Wears Gravity Defying Outfit Just A Few Months After Giving Birth

What’s really holding up Jessica Alba‘s top? Those two little straps at the back? An entire roll of double-sided tape? Or Jess’ sheer force of will? Because that square cut is not forgiving at all from the front and is a whisper away from a wardrobe malfunction. Jess completed the outfit with a black skirt that was hemmed with floral detailing. This was worn at the opening of Giorgio Armani’s new hotel in Milan. And now for the really crazy part — she gave birth to daughter Haven, less than three months ago. And she fit and looked amazing … in that. Shoot us now.

Ashley Greene On Style And Personal Evolution: “I’m Figuring All That Out”

Ashley Greene was my last interview of the day during the Breaking Dawn press junket, and I entered her hotel suite at the Four Seasons at 5 p.m. expecting to find her as tired as I was — if not more. She had just come off the European press tour for the film and was now knee-deep in promotion stateside, a whirlwind of interviews and appearances. But the actress, who was recently named the new face of DKNY, was chipper and chatty, dressed in a silky red tank, jeans and sky-high patent-leather beige heels. When I told her I wanted to geek out about fashion with her for the entire interview but was gonna try not to, she joked, “But for a portion, at least!” Sounded good to me!

TheFABlife: What’s helped you grow your style and fashion sense over the years?
Ashley Greene: I think it’s a lot of experiences. With Twilight, there’s been a lot of red carpets, fan events, press and talk shows. I work with a stylist named Christina Ehrlich and she’s been so incredible. She’s very collaborative and never tries to force anything on me.

TFL: Have you learned from past fashion missteps?
AG: I think one of the first mistakes you can make is wearing something because someone told you to wear it. And I’ve done it! We’ve all done it. [Ed. note: Yep, we have!]

Harper’s Bazaar Picks Age-Defying Madonna For Their December Cover

Madonna‘s film W.E has been in the news a fair amount, mostly because … it’s Madonna’s film. All the attention directed towards it — as if Madge needed anymore — had landed the singer on the December cover of Harper’s Bazaar along with the movie’s leading leady, Andrea Riseborough, a very lovely, youthful 30-year-old. Madonna on the other hand, is looking like a very lovely, youthful 53-year-old. God bless magazine covers for being fountains of youth, right? It’s like gravity, sun damage and a ticking clock don’t exist.

The interview itself, which profiles the singer and her directorial journey with W.E., is very Madonna, and we thoroughly enjoyed one quote in particular. She told the writer, Naomi Wolf, “For some reason, I feel like I never left high school, because I still feel that if you don’t fit in, you’re going to get your ass kicked.” See? She’s just like the rest of us. Only without wrinkles.

Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman: How To Get Red Very Right And Very Wrong

Two fabulous actresses, two separate events in locations across the globe from each other. And yet, we found a lesson that is very important, if you’re willing to learn, grasshopper. It’s the art of wearing red, which can be a tricky little minx because you can go from red hot to fizzled spark in one step.

Take Nicole Kidman, for example. She’s looking so pleased to be at the  2011 BMI Country Awards held yesterday in Nashville. From the look on her face, you can tell she thinks she’s nailed this Stella McCartney dress. Nicole thought that throwing in some white detailing on what would’ve been a passable crimson dress was the way to go. WRONG. This dress is like an optical illusion. We literally got cross-eyed staring at it and it also brought back longgone memories of geometry lessons with our old teacher Mr.Sapru (who used to terrify us.) Nicole, please. Do red. Plain red. None of this jazzy Christmas wrapping paper stuff.

On the right, we have Angeline Jolie, at the premiere of Moneyball in Japan. We feel like the woman at the back who got photobombed  — jaws dropped and in awe. Angie knows how to pull out the stops when she feels like it. And taking this red, strappy L’Wren Scott dress and her tomato lips into consideration, she felt like it. Angie haterz can kvetch all they want, but we all know that this woman could stop an asteroid in its tracks if she wanted to (and if the good folk of NASA had thought of it.)

So there you have it folks. The next time you think red, pick a side.
