That’s Chloe Moretz and Keanu Reeves re-creating Taxi Driver for the November issue of Harpers Bazaar, by the way. The magazine pays homage to Martin Scorsese with a photo spread re-enacting some of his most memorable movie scenes. It’s a pretty fantastic idea with stars like Kate Bosworth doing The Age of Innocence and our favorite: Christina Hendricks posing for Gangs of New York.
The shoot accompanies an article with celebrities talking about their Marty moments — collaborations, anecdotes, stories from the set and such! Jodie Foster reminisces about Taxi Driver, saying, “When we were shooting Taxi Driver, I think Marty was really uncomfortable with the fact that I was so young. The memory I have is of him and Robert De Niro trying to tell me how to unzip [De Niro's] pants. And Marty keeps bursting out laughing. He can’t get a word out, and he tries to act serious, you know? He keeps smoothing down his face on both sides, but he just keeps laughing…” This one’s a classic, folks. Especially if you’re a movie buff. Scorcese’s first-ever 3-D family flick, Hugo, is in theaters on November 23.

Does anyone else think seeing Lady Gaga without make-up on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar is more unsettling than seeing her with, oh, we don’t know, demon horns growing out of her face? To be sure, having your eyebrows bleached and slipping into a custom-made Hussein Chalayan dress for a magazine shoot isn’t the same thing as walking to the deli in your coffee-stained Juicy sweatsuit. “Whether I’m wearing lots of makeup or no makeup, I’m always the same person inside,” says in her interview. So…we take it that person is a feisty little Sicilian by the name of Jo Calderone?
We couldn’t stop gawping at Jane Fonda in Harper’s Bazaar. She’s “73 and a half” years old, guys, and looks better than most people a good five decades younger. And if that dress looks familiar, it’s the same dotty Stella McCartney number Kate Winslet wore to the Mildred Pierce premiere a while ago. And even though we love us some Kate, we think that Jane is working it way better than she is. The sideboob isn’t putting us off either, and sideboob almost always puts us off.
She gives a great interview too especially about her personal life (she’s dating music producer Richard Perry), saying, “When I was researching myself, I wondered, is there a ‘there’ there? Or am I just a hollow person who gets filled up by whatever man I’m with? I’m fine with women. My problem is always with men — you know, pleasing a man, turning myself into a pretzel to be who the man I’m with wants me to be. I’m not saying that that’s gone away 100 percent, but maybe 90 percent, 95 percent even.” The research is for her new book Prime Time, FYI, and it was also for her memoir My Life So Far. Read the interview, people. It made us want to say Amen! at every quote. And we really can’t get over how terrific she looks. It would take more than a couple of Valium for us to get into that dress.

She want’s it all! Lea Michele covers the September edition of Harper’s Bazaar, but we far prefer this shot in the more dramatic photoshoot inside. And for someone so little (“I’m five foot three. I don’t look like a lot of other people, you know what I mean? I look like I’m 12″), she’s got big ambitions! Lea told the magazine, “I don’t stop. “It’s my nature. People have to tell me to slow down. I plan on playing every role on Broadway. I want to do Evita. I want to do Sweeney Todd with [Glee costar] Chris Colfer. We want to do Wicked. I’ll be Elphaba and he wants to play ‘Guy-linda.’ I want to do movies, make music. Glee is only the beginning.”
She also makes some particularly surprising confessions concerning who she fangirls over. “I am obsessed with Gwyneth Paltrow” she reveals adding, ” I was nervous and said, ‘I don’t think I can do that dance move.’ She said, ‘You can do it.’ She wasn’t afraid of anything. I love talking with Gwyneth. She just gives good advice. She said, ‘Don’t ever read anything about you’.” The interview goes on more about what she thinks of her looks, her boyfriends and how she auditioned for Glee. And the funny thing is, we may not have been big fans of Lea before this, but this interview kinda changed our minds! We’d chill with her at Le Pain Quotidient (read the interview, guys) any time.

We don’t know if the Russian population at large thinks American culture so closely resembles the set of a florescent-colored Some Like It Hot, but if these photos of Nicole Richie in Harper’s Bazaar Russia are any indication, we wish it did too. Sporting neon threads and planted next to a pink Cadillac, Richie rocks Marilyn Monroe curls with a few kitschy dialogue bubbles drawn in for good measure. The photographer might have Nicole saying “Wow!,” but we’re assuming she has more complex matters on her mind, like “How am I going to get onto the plane and out of the country before they realize I’ve stolen all these clothes?”
