This Sunday we’re gonna be glued to our TV sets watching the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards, and if you’re into glitz, glamor, and good times we suggest you do the same! It’s an evening dedicated to the craft of acting, comedy, fighting, and badassery, but most importantly to the craft of mackin’ it with a super hot costar while the cameras roll. All night we wait with baited breath to see which steamy screen couple will take home the coveted “Best Kiss Award.”
TheFABLife faves Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have won the honor two years running for their part in the Twilight series, and this year they face stiff competition from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page in Inception, Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman in Black Swan. Twi-Bro Taylor Lautner is even making a play for the crown for his lip lock with K-Stew in Eclipse.
Who’s gonna get the golden popcorn this year? Tune in Sunday at 9 PM and find out! To hold you over, check out our collection of the most sizzling kisses from the past ten years! Please don’t drool, it might short out your keyboard. Who do you think had the best movie kiss of all time?
Oscar who? The nominees for the the 2011 MTV Movie Awards -the only award show that REALLY matters- are fresh off the presses today! The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse came out on top, grabbing a total of eight nominations, followed by Inception with seven, and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 with six. All are nominated for Best Movie, along with (you guessed it) Black Swan and The Social Network.
SNL’s Jason Sudeikis is set to host this year’s show, which airs on Sunday June 5th at 9 PM from Los Angeles. And judging from the nominees, it’s going to be heavy on the heart-trobs. The Best Male Performance category will feature Robert Pattinson’s jawline going head to head with fellow Twi-Bro Taylor Lautner’s rock hard abs. But that’s not all! Wiz-kid hottie Daniel Radcliffe will also be weighing in as well as Hollywood Homecoming King Zac Efron for his role in Charlie St. Cloud. And Jesse “For The Last Time I’m Not Michael Cera” Eisenberg, well…he’s just happy to be included (for The Social Network, natch).
For the ladies, Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart rep their mega-blockbuster supernatural franchises (Harry Potter and Twilight, respectively), alongside Natalie Portman for her Academy Award winning role in Black Swan, Emma Stone in her not-Academy Award winning role in Easy A, and Jennifer Aniston for her performance in Just Go With It.
But you don’t have to wait til June to get in on the MTV Movie Awards action. Visit MTV.comto cast your vote for your favorite nominees! Make your voice heard! Check out the complete list after the jump.
How’s Rupert Grint coping with life after Harry Potter? Apparently not well. We were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt when he bought a $300 toilet-seat last week. But we guess even a space-age commode can’t fill the Hagrid-sized hole in his heart. That’s why Rupert decided to make his OWN wizardry film, starring himself as a blush-wearing wizard. Join him and his gang of cross-dressing boys as they wander the streets of London at night, in search of a magic bagel! Take note J.K. Rowling, maybe you can make this into your next series! Judging from the video, we’d title it Ron Weasley And The Case of the Munchies.
The cast of the Harry Potter films all reacted differently to the end of the series. For example,Emma Watson famously cut her hair and Daniel Radcliffe had an identity crisis. But Rupert Grint is reportedly adjusting to post-Potter life by buying a $320 toilet seat. But before you get all bent out of shape, just wait: not only does it have a heated seat, electronic lid action and a bidet built right in, but he bought it DUTY FREE! So when we put it that way, you can see that it’s a steal, right?
Rupert was seen with his new purchase while passing through London’s Heathrow Airport today. He had just returned from Japan, where he bought the space age commode. Will it help him move on? Or will he stand in his bathroom a lot, screaming “Expecto Patronum!” and pretending it’s magic when he presses the automatic lid button? “No look, I really am a wizard,” he will tell lady friends, “But my skills only apply to plumbing fixtures.” And then he will make a lame joke about his “magic wand” before heading off to the bedroom. You can’t put a price on a magic toilet seat; but if you could, $320 seems about right.
Now that Daniel Radcliffe has concluded filming of the Harry Potter films, he’s trying to get away from his legacy as the boy wizard…or so you’d think. In this Funny or Die interview, Radcliffe is actually pretttty sure he’s the real, live Harry Potter. But now that Voldemort is dead, what does Harry/Dan do with his time? Well, besides chilling out a lot, he tends to his Quidditch scars with Tiger Balm. Check it out.
In the summer of 2009, I was completely unfamiliar with the world of Harry Potter but decided it was my pop-cultural duty to read the entire series and then watch the films. I accomplished this in four months. (That’s what happens when you rely on your local library which for some reason has a dozen copies of Goblet of Fire and only one of The Half-Blood Prince – your pop-culture duty is at the mercy of book-renewing 10-year-olds.) In the year between finishing the books and watching Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I this week, I’ve been obsessed with the world J.K. Rowling created, and sought a replacement to fill the Harry-shaped hole in my heart. In that time, I read The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, knowing that I set an exceedingly high bar for them. I found out thousands of pages and one half-vampire baby later that there is nothing that can compare to Harry Potter.
The premiere of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is exciting for so many reasons. Not only is the the penultimate installment of the beloved series, but it’s also the first time that the entire cast has completely come into their own and grown into adulthood and it’s (hopefully) not creepy for us to say that they’re a really good-looking bunch. The film premiered in New York last night at Alice Tully Hall and the cast and dozens of celebs (and their kids) were in attendance. And in a crowd full of fashion darlings like Sarah Jessica Parker and Lourdes Leon, it’s pretty safe to say the Emma Watson was easily the best dressed of the night in a slinky black number. Hermione Granger has officially gotten a makeover and she looks amazing.
We are seeing the film this week and are proud to say that we have never actually used the word “squee!!” for anything, but right about now we are totally squeeing our pants, We. Are. So. Excited. We can’t wait till Friday to discuss – are any die hard fans out there planning to hit up the midnight showing on Thursday? Let us know! And in the meantime, check out who attended last night’s premiere.
The cast of the Lord of the Rings trilogy famously got matching tattoos after shooting ended to commemorate the time spent in traipsing Middle Earth in elf-shoes, which seems like a fun way to bond over a life-changing experience. So when asked if he and his Harry Potter co-stars would get tattoos too, Daniel Radcliffe was open-minded, saying “I suppose if everyone was doing it I’d probably as well.”
The actor told People that he would have some rules though about what exactly he would get inked on his body. “We’d have to be very specific about the design because I’m not having a skull, or any glasses, or a broom, or a Hogwarts crest – nothing like that. It would have to be something a little bit more idiosyncratic.” Might we suggest the words “I Must Not Tell Lies” on the back of your hand?
Radcliffe also joked about the idea, saying “Rupert [Grint] said the other day that he’s going to get my face tattooed on him somewhere. So maybe I’ll just get his face tattooed on me somewhere. We’ll do sort of a swap.” We personally have never regretted the day we got our Ron Weasley tramp stamp, so we say go for it, guys.
Listen up, students of witchcraft and wizardry! The only spell you need to know for style perfection is “Emma Watson!” For years the gorgeous wizard-in-training has spread her fashion magic across the red carpet. But who knows what’s next for this fashionista wiz-kid now that she’s finally graduated from Hogwarts with the rest of her Harry Potter friends. If her dazzling new ‘do is any indication, we can’t wait to see what else she has in store. Check out the twenty-year-old’s twenty hottest looks in the gallery below!
Do you hear that? That’s the sound of Harry Potter fans around the world hyperventilating. The first installment of the two-part epic Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows opens wide next Friday, but the cast kicked off festivities last night with the world premiere gala in London. Leading gents Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint looked dapper in dark suits, but costar Emma Watson stole the show (and our hearts) in a gorgeous black lace semi-see-through number. Scandalous! Perhaps she’s trying to catch Dan-Rad’s eye for Round Two of ambushing him with her lips. (jk, guys.)
Speaking of JK (*zing*), her majesty The Rowling looked dazzlingly elegant in a black gown. Helena Bonham Carter did not disappoint in her crazed Amy-Winehouse-On-A-Bender-At-Prom inspired outfit, and even Lisa Marie Presley made an appearance. Why? Because she could.
