Report: Dianna Agron And Alex Pettyfer Are Splitsville

Over so soon? Wasn’t Dianna Agron just blogging her displeasure about the Alex Pettyfer engagement rumors? If sources are to be believed, then we now know why she was so pissed. Alex and Dianna have apparently split up. The I Am Number Four costars have been dating for less than a year, and looks like things moved quickly, because they were living together as well.

But now, as UsMagazine reports, Dianna’s packed her things and moved out. It was just a month ago that Pettyfer told Ellen DeGeneres, “She’s an amazing woman and she’s got this old school, classic movie star elegance to her. She’s amazing.”  Dianna, in return, told Sugar Magazine in their Winter 2011 issue, “Alex might see himself as a bad boy, but he’s actually very sweet in real life…”

So, what went wrong? We had written about reports that Alex had some serious diva ‘tude on sets of I am Number Four. Maybe he was bringing it home, and Dianna had enough? Either way, this couple could have been Young Hollywood’s reigning King and Queen is they had stuck around. But in this town, people tend to get back together as soon as they split up. Whether it’s for the cameras or not, is another story altogether, so let’s just see how this supposed break-up rolls.

Budding Star Alex Pettyfer Already Showing His Diva Attitude

Alex Pettyfer made our list of Ten Stars To Watch For in 2011 because he’s the complete package: good-looking, talented, starring in a sure-to-be blockbuster (I Am Number Four), and boyfriend to Glee star Diana Agron. One thing he might also be is a diva. The Hollywood Reporter writes today that Pettyfer had been difficult while working on I Am Number Four, clashing with the director, D.J. Caruso, and attempting to renegotiate his contract when he learned another actor was making a higher salary. He reportedly would not cash any of his paychecks in protest when DreamWorks refused to bump his salary. (Which, sure, if that’s your form of protest that’s fine, but you’d think the guy has direct deposit, wouldn’t you?) One producer who has worked with Pettyfer has said of the young Brit “Pick your words: ambitious, hungry, cocky, very ahead of himself … But if he delivers, he’ll be worth it.” For his next project, Mortal Instruments, he reportedly asked for $10 million, a number that “outraged” the studio, although he’s still in negotiations.

The question is, will his diva-tude escalate? Will he end up being a phone-thrower like Russell Crowe and Naomi Campbell, or just a perfectionist with a rider to boot, like Jennifer Lopez? It’s too soon to tell, but it sounds like he’s well on his way.

Alex Pettyfer And Dianna Agron Get Engaged (Or Do They?): True Love Or Greatest PR Stunt In Recent Memory?

Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron Engaged

UPDATE (11:38pm): Full update on Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron’s secret engagement here. Also worth noting: Gossip Cop is calling BS on these reports, as is Just Jared.

Who knows, it could be both! What we do know is this: US Magazine and People are both reporting tonight that I Am Number Four co-stars Alex Pettyfer, 20, and Dianna Agron, 24, are engaged to be married. Perhaps coincidentally, we also know that there are fifteen precious days before their Sexy Aliens Are The New Sexy Vampires™ film opens on February 18.

While only time will tell if the young couple — who met just under a year ago on the set of I Am Number Four — will live happily ever after, we can safely assure you that you’re going to be reading both of their names a lot over the next few weeks. Agron’s hit television show, Glee, is expected to be watched by tens of millions of people on Sunday night thanks to some prime Super Bowl promotion (and this is her second big tabloid story in less than six months). Pettyfer’s star is equally hot; in addition to this film, he’s also starring in Beastly, a modern day retelling of Beauty and the Beast.
