Like Whitney Houston, Elton John and approximately one billion other artists before him, Usher canceled tour dates in Europe due to a “upper respiratory illness.” His rep explains, “After consultation with doctors, he has been advised to reschedule the upcoming dates in order to get the rest he needs to ensure a complete recovery.” Usher hit Twitter to apologize, saying “I deeply regret having to reschedule the shows. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience I have caused my fans. My fans are the best in the world and I am looking forward to getting better so that I can give them the show they deserve.”
Even if you aren’t an Usher fan (and really, why aren’t you?) the video of the singer breaking down in Germany is absolutely heart-wrenching. The Thursday concert at Berlin’s 02 Arena was actually rescheduled from Wednesday due to his illness. Unfortunately, despite pushing his performance back a day NAACP Image Award nominee Usher was unable to sing, wobbling on his feet before apologizing and walking off stage. The audience doesn’t know if they should boo him or cheer him on, so of course, they do both. This isn’t the first time the “OMG” singer had a terrible concert experience; it was just the first where Usher didn’t have at least get an apologetic female fan sitting on his lap.
As if we weren’t already blown away by her Critics’ Choice Movie Award-nominated turn in Black Swan, now it’s revealed that Mila Kunis was blind in one eye the whole time. “I was blind in one eye for many years, and nobody knew,” the actress reveals. Kunis was diagnosed with chronic iritis, an inflammation of the iris that can potentially lead to permanent vision impairment. No word yet on whether Mila was still afflicted when she read the script for her new rom-com Friends With Benefits with Justin Timberlake, but based on the trailer, that’s a real possibility.
Luckily treatment was available, and Kunis has since regained her sight. “I’m not blind anymore. I had surgery a couple of months ago. They cut it open and dropped a new lens in there,” Mila explained. Guess that explains why Kunis’s break-up from Macaulay Culkincame when it did. We’re just kidding! We mean, she had her other eye the whole time. As for what she wants in a new man, Mila has got her sights (pun intentional) on a man with swagger. “Confidence, not cockiness,” Mila explains. “Looks go; they fade. I don’t think looks matter.” Wait, has she walked by a mirror since she had her eyes fixed?. Don’t sell yourself short, Mila, before you witness the true hotness you have achieved.
Our Christmas gift came early this year, because word is30 Rock’sTracy Morgan received a kidney transplant around December 10, and he’s already almost back on his feet! “Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery,” his rep confirmed. We’re glad to hear he’s on the mend, but are still planning a candlelight vigil until New Year’s. No way are we giving up our Tracy Jordan.
Amazingly Tracy, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996, will only misstwo or three 30 Rock episodes set to air in March and will be “looking forward to going back to work after the holidays,” says his rep. Coincidentally Morgan is actually the second cast member to require a kidney transplant this year. Co-star and Tracy Jordan posse memberGrizz Chapman also received a kidney in August after suffering from end-stage renal failure. If anyone on that show needs a kidney, you just let us know. Let’s put it this way: we have two kidneys; we don’t have two Tina Feys or Alec Baldwins. [Photo: WireImage]
America may not be too familiar with Jade Goody, but over in England she’s front page news. The reality TV mogul – think Heidi Montag for comparison, but with a Britney Spears-like empire – is battling terminal cancer, and documenting it all for one final reality show. Jade, 27, was recently married to boyfriend Jack Tweed (who is on probation for assault, natch) and she’s currently doing as much as she can to earn money to leave her two young sons. Just today, it was revealed that her cancer has spread to her brain and blood.
“Jade’s story is now being heard all over the world – it is pretty remarkable,” said her publicist, Max Clifford. “I have hundreds of people calling me daily, just wanting an update about her. So far, Oprah Winfrey and Larry King really want to do an interview too.”
Jade already snagged over $1 million for her wedding pics and story in a deal with OK! Magazine, so a TV interview is sure to bring big bucks. Time to lay down the dough, Oprah – this is one weepy chat we’d tune in for. [Photo: Splash News Online]
