Where there is a best-dressed list, there must be a worst-dressed list. It’s the yin and yang of a red carpet. Or, in the case of the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards, the orange carpet. And plenty of these looks did get slimed later on, by the way. Like Heidi Klum‘s weird Pippi Long Stockings outfit. Love the dress. Can’t understand the long grey boots she had on? Her legs looked bandaged. Ashley Tisdale has also made it to this list, sadly. It’s the classic case of pretty girl, bad dress. It was an orange Kymerah mullet with a weird, printed underskirt. Those fringed black heels didn’t help her case, either.
Then there was Katy Perry, God bless her. Her look was what we’d like to call Day-Glo meets Kermit the Frog. And considering Jada Pinkett Smith‘s daughter, Willow Smith is such a budding fashionista in her own right, we’re wondering what went wrong with mamma? Her Catharine Malandrino pink jumpsuit just ended up making her look boxy (not foxy, sadly.) And it’s hard to make such a tiny woman look so disproportionate. The zebra platforms were a fail as well. We were also quite disappointed with Isabelle Fuhrman who normally looks so well turned out on a carpet. This time, her chunky black heels and polka-dotted Jason Wu shift didn’t make the cut. See for yourself, along with all the other missteps, in the gallery below.

Kids’ Choice Awards Reveal The Next Generation Of Fashionistas
The next generation of fashionistas is already making its presence known. And each has a completely different style profile from the other. Consider the photograph above, with shots of our three fashion-forward young ladies, taken at the Kids’ Choice Awards. One the left we have the punk rocker, Willow Smith, who wore the hell out of her trilby and pink hair. May we also mention that she’s just 11 years old? What’s the bet that her alternative style is going to get better and better with age? We’re looking forward to seeing this cool chick’s evolution.
In the middle, we have the very pretty 13-year-old Madison Pettis and she’s already the babe of the bunch! We love how fresh-faced she looks with those masses of curly hair, youthful coral mini, and let’s not forget that thoughtful (teenager) touch of turquoise nail polish. She’s definitely going to keep on wowing us on red carpets as she gets older. Finally, on the right, we already have the certified sartorial star, Kiernan Shipka. How appropriate is it that this 12-year-old stars on Mad Men, because her personal style skews towards elegant and slight retro. She’s the classic young lady of her generation and one only has to regard her chic, messy updo and pleated dress to see that.
So there you have it. Three young stars. Three totally different styles. Which young ladies look do you see yourself identifying with the most?

Look at all these old people promoting their movies/albums/TV shows awkwardly at the Kids’ Choice Awards! It’s so…depressing. Sure, Rihanna, Katy Perry, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and The Beib were all on hand to give the night a hearty dose of youth and terrible fashion, but the olds were still out in full effect, lurking on the red carpet, in the audience and under the slime hose. Snoop Dogg, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Tina Fey, Steve Carell and inexplicably, M. Night Shyamalan were all in attendance, like parents chaperoning a middle school dance. Pics in the gallery below.
You know fashion has hit a bump in the road when Miley Cyrus is the best-dressed star in attendance at the Kids’ Choice Awards. But that’s exactly what happened this weekend at the Nickelodeon event, where most of the stars came dressed liked it was 1991. You can just hear the C&C Music Factory blasting on their Sony Walkman(s?), right?
Check out our three worst offenders above – Pete Wentz wore the worst denim shirt we’ve ever seen, Paula Abdul rocked some sort of sheer tank from Hot Topic, and Tori Spelling‘s floral dress could’ve have been pulled from 90210‘s wardrobe department. The only person we’ll give a free pass to is Slash – who was so cool in the early 90′s that he’s allowed to keep his signature style alive.
