Is it getting a little warm in here? It’s just the first of May, and we’re already fanning ourselves at our desk after putting together our own special Summer Movie Preview. We’ll leave the talk of comic books, green screens, box-office takes and mega-sequel expectations to some other sites, as we instead do what we do best: concentrate on those beautiful men and women on the big screens. And oh, there are a lot of them this summer. First, let’s take a look at the fine male specimens stepping up to save the world — from aliens, vampires, evil queens and other threats that somehow loom the largest between May and August.
There’s the staple comic book heroes, though you know these days they’re far from typical: Christian Bale reprises his controversial vigilante Bruce Wayne for The Dark Knight Rises, this time (we think) getting a hand from legit lawman John Blake, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt; Andrew Garfield will fight crime as well as our cries of “too soon” in The Amazing Spider-Man; Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr.. will heed the call of Samuel L. Jackson to join forces in The Avengers.
Kirsten Dunst, who was once America’s favorite pre-teen vampire, turns 30 today. As we prepare watch Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Foy eclipse her breakthrough bloodsucking performance in 1994’s Interview With a Vampire, and Emma Stone takes over the role of Spider-Man’s main squeeze, Dunst has moved on to more grown-up roles. She wowed critics with her performance in Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia last year. This year, we’ll see her as a reluctant bridesmaid in the indie comedy Bachelorette and mix it up with the Beat poets as Camille in On the Road (opposite Stewart and Garrett Hedlund). And now she’s re-teamed with her Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette director Sofia Coppola for The Bling Ring (currently known as “that movie in which Emma Watson has a tramp stamp“).
With her adorable dimples, Kirsten probably could have picked a career as a rom-com staple — but she’s always balanced her cuteness with a bit of a dark edge, and a number of smoldering looks. That’s why we’re taking this moment to wish her a happy birthday with a collection of her 30 hottest looks.
Has it already been a year since Prince William and Kate Middleton got hitched? It will be on Sunday, April 29, and we’re going to swig a glass or two (or three) for the royal couple. More than anything, this last year is when we completely fell in love with Kate and her winsome style. Seriously, the woman never fails to put her best fashion foot forward. More than anything, she puts in a lot of thought into the political context of her clothes, which is always appreciated. Remember when she wore Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu while visiting Canada? Or that fab red Maple Leaf hat by Lock And Co. on Canada Day celebrations? Smart moves, gurl. And they — along with her gracious personality — have only served to win her more fans.
There have been other amazing fashion moments by her, through this first year of her becoming royalty. That pale pink shimmering Jenny Packham on her first official engagement was a total hit. And that incredibly sexy black velvet Alexander McQueen dress for the Sun Military Awards? In fact, Packham and McQueen have emerged as her favorite designers — other than Reiss, Issa and Irish designer Orla Kiely, for slightly more informal occasions. As far as Jenny Packham goes, we’re total fans of the silver, one-shouldered Grecian gown and the yellow, summery frock that Kate has worn on different occasions. With McQueen you can’t beat the second white dress she wore for her post-wedding celebrations.
So, in celebration of her royal style and of her impending one-year anniversary on Sunday, we’ve compiled an epic gallery of Kate’s top 25 looks. It was a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it. But we also want you to get involved. We’ve got a numbered list of all the 25 looks right below, in order of our preference. Go through the list (you won’t be sorry) which is linked to the corresponding picture in the gallery. The gallery is also numbered from 1-25 in case you want to go straight to it. Below it, we’ve got ourselves a poll of the top 15 of that list. We’d love for you to vote and tell which is your favorite. We’ve even got the designers and milliners down for every outfit, so have a ball, click away and vote, vote, vote!
We’ve had a couple weeks to digest the fact that Britney Spears‘ fiance Jason Trawick has been tapped as her co-conservator alongside her dad, Jamie. And even now that it’s all official on paper, we still don’t feel totally at ease with the whole thing. But star therapist Dr. Jenn Berman of VH1‘s Couples Therapy has been trying hard to convince us that it’s actually a good thing. “Other people looking out for her seems to have really worked well for her, Jenn recently told us. “It helped her in her healing and well-being. It seems like it’s what she needs.”
The singer has been under conservator-ship since her very public (and very scary) meltdown in early 2008, and for all we know it may have saved her life. Yet still, the whole thing sort of creeps us out. We just don’t like the idea of a grown woman’s husband being granted legal control over her food, heath-care and style choices. Plus, Britney and Jason aren’t even married yet! Not to mention the fact that he’s her agent. What kind of legal firestorm would occur if they split up? “This is a very unusual situation, because generally you don’t see conservatees get married,” LA probate attorney Jeffrey Cohen told People magazine.
On the upside, Judge Reva Goetz admitted at Britney’s conservatorship hearing that he was “impressed” with her progress. So perhaps in the near future Brit can successfully petition to have Jason demoted to just plain old “husband/agent.” But until that day comes, Britney and Jason will top our list of the most unsettling couples in show biz. Check out the rest in the gallery below!

A lot of prep goes into a wedding. There’s the flowers, the catering, the dress, the ceremony, the guest list. And if you’re a multi-millionaire mega star, there’s the all-important prenuptial agreement. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are in the midst of planning their big day, but rumors are circulating as to whether or not the power couple will sign a prenup concerning their tremendous assets. In fact, Forbes estimates the couple’s net worth at over $270 million.
Although they’ve been together for over seven years now, that doesn’t mean that the two won’t someday hit the rocks. And as the boy-scouts always said: be prepared! “The chances of them not having a prenup is slim and zip,” L.A.-based attorney Goldie Schon told Celebuzz. “The fact that they waited this long to tie the knot, you can’t imagine that with this type of wealth and this type of stature that they’re not going to protect themselves so that they don’t have a situation in the future.” They certainly won’t be the first celebs with big money divorce clauses. Check out some of the crazier Hollywood prenups in the gallery below!

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Kelly Clarkson shot to fame as the very first winner of American Idol! We met her way back in 2002 as a 20-year-old waitress from Texas, and now she’s a bonafide Grammy-winning superstar. She’s had 10 Top 10 hits, she sang the national anthem at this year’s super bowl, and in December she took her place alongside fellow soulstresses on VH1 DIVAs. So for all that, we’ll agree to forget about From Justin To Kelly…
While other so-called Idols have fizzled (What was the name of that grey-haired dude again? Anyone?), Kelly’s star is still burning bright as ever, with her latest single “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” hitting the number one spot. And she did all of this before her 30th birthday! Yes, the singer turns the big 3-0h today, so to celebrate let’s take a look at ten people who she’s influenced in the last decade. Happy birthday, Kelly! And as you so perfectly put it, our lives would suck without you.

Every year, Time does a pretty decent job combining pop culture personalities with businesspeople and super important political types for their 100 Most Influential People list, and this year is no exception. We’ll let you read about Hillary Clinton and Anthony Kennedy on your own time. We’re going to recap the people on the list who have some pretty hefty influence on these very blog pages. Here’s how they rank — in our expert opinion of ourselves — and why:
22. Tim Cook: For being Steve Jobs’ successor as CEO of Apple, from whom we will be buying lots of things until the end of time, even though we are still PC people.
21. Marc Andreessen: For being the co-creator of the first widely used web browser (Mosaic), who now owns part of, like every social media platform we use. So, thanks!
20. Walter Isaacson: One more geeky entry here for the Steve Jobs biography, since every other person we know has been reading it.
19. Louis C.K.: For being one of the most consistently funny people on TV and Web ever.
18. Jeremy Lin: Not necessarily for what he’s done for the Knicks as much as for what he’s done for punny headlines and tweets.
17. Raphael Saadiq: For making old-school soul so now.
16. Tim Tebow: For being the suspected football boyfriend of every “good” girl in Hollywood. And maybe now New York, too?
Looking back at the style choices of the Yo! MTV Raps era sends us on a trip down memory lane. How cool were overalls in the ’90s? They’ve even tried to make a comeback (to which we plead please, folks, let them die!). Seeing Tupac in his custom made T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E overalls or Bobby Brown with his slanted high top fade reminds us of a time when rap was fun. As cool as these styles seemed then, today they would almost certainly make the what-not-to wear fashion list.
It’s all in good sport that we poke fun at the awesomely bad style moments of the Yo! MTV Raps era. Speaking of which, our two-hour special The 40 Greatest Yo! MTV Raps Moments airs this Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET/PT. In the meantime, reminisce on the styles we loved then and chuckle at now.

The little Gucci dress, the little Gucci dress, or … the little Gucci dress? It must be amazing to be Posh. With a slamming figure, four adorable rugrats, a successful designing career and drop-dead gorg husband David Beckham, Victoria Beckham has a whole lot to be happy about. Victoria always possessed an air of beautiful richness, ever since her Spice Girls days. And since then, Victoria has become an author, model, solo artist, and most recognizably a fashion icon, for others’ designs as well as her own. Posh’s look has morphed over the years — and it’s made others morph with her, see her trend-setting short haircut in 2007 — but she’s always maintained a classic, chic appearance. And she’s still killing it, most recently appearing on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar China. To celebrate Victoria’s 38th birthday today, let’s take a look at how posh she’s been through the years:

Summer concert season is supposed to be all about letting loose, drinking beer and enjoying great music with your friends, right? But it’s also a fantastic place to eye what the cool kids are wearing these days, which makes sense: When you can’t hear what anyone’s saying over the blasting beat, you have to communicate in other ways. And since it’s the earliest big festival on the camera, and jam-packed with celebrities, we like to turn to Coachella as an indicator of the coming season’s hot — and often batsh– crazy — trends. Two adorable couples (who happen to be friends), Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder, and Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger, gave us hope that this summer would be full of relaxed but colorful clothing. Vanessa Hudgens and Fergie, on the other hand, have us a little worried. And lord help us if anyone tries to make us buy a pair of studded denim hot pants, a la Rihanna. Some thighs are not meant to be adorned in such a manner. Let’s take a look at the trends we’ll embrace, the ones we fear, and a few we’re still on the fence about.
