Madonna‘s film W.E has been in the news a fair amount, mostly because … it’s Madonna’s film. All the attention directed towards it — as if Madge needed anymore — had landed the singer on the December cover of Harper’s Bazaar along with the movie’s leading leady, Andrea Riseborough, a very lovely, youthful 30-year-old. Madonna on the other hand, is looking like a very lovely, youthful 53-year-old. God bless magazine covers for being fountains of youth, right? It’s like gravity, sun damage and a ticking clock don’t exist.
The interview itself, which profiles the singer and her directorial journey with W.E., is very Madonna, and we thoroughly enjoyed one quote in particular. She told the writer, Naomi Wolf, “For some reason, I feel like I never left high school, because I still feel that if you don’t fit in, you’re going to get your ass kicked.” See? She’s just like the rest of us. Only without wrinkles.

Kat Dennings might strike you as your run-of-the-mill filthy-mouthed, Christina-Hendricks-looking sitcom star (you know, one of those!), but she wants to be clear that, in addition to being really, really, ridiculously good-looking in the new issue of GQ, she is also a weirdo. “I don’t think I’m a weirdo in a bad way, there’s just a lot going on in my head,” the 2 Broke Girls star explained. “Though I think if I could put my finger on my exact weirdness I’d be able to change it.”
Oh, so Kat’s quirky! We know another sassy brunette who already has the corner on that mark…”I hate that damn word!” Dennings allegedly shouted at her interviewer when the ‘Q’ word came up. “Quirky is what a guy would call a girl he doesn’t understand.” Oh, we like her. In all honesty, we even think Kat rocks those bangs just as hard as Zooey Deschanel. Possibly even harder. No one tell Zooey D. that, though, or some day when we least expect it we’ll get a ukulele smashed over our skull.
We’re happy to see Jennifer Lopez looking so radiant on the cover of Glamour magazine’s December issue. The shots have emerged just days after J.Lo broke down onstage at a concert in Connecticut. So this is great timing — the world needs to see happy, smiling Jen after her composure cracked so publicly. The interview itself is quite upbeat and hopeful (though also a tad PSA-ish, but everyone loves those). “I think I’ve finally learned the biggest lesson of all. You’ve got to love yourself first. You’ve got to be OK on your own before you can be OK with somebody else,” she says. “You’ve got to value yourself and know that you’re worth everything. And until you value yourself enough and love yourself enough to know that, you can’t really have a healthy relationship.” Preach, sistah! We feel a song coming out of that speech. She gets top marks for that tan decolletage and fabulous hair too. There are more shots of Jennifer on Glamour’s Facebook page in case you’re so inclined.

Ali Lohan’s face, and the plastic surgery allegations it inspired last month, had us kind of concerned about the younger Lohan’s modeling career. How would she keep booking gigs if she looked like a new strong-browed woman at every single shoot? Luckily, Ali Lohan’s Fault Magazine cover has her looking infinitely more modelicious than we would have predicted. Okay, so maybe you can’t see half of Ali’s head due to those gigantic sunglasses, and the use of black-and-white sort of makes her freckles look like a sun damage screening taken after she feel asleep under a lawn chair, but still! We can see the potential. The truth is, Ali’s alternate cover, complete with black lipstick, has her looking downright…fierce.

Looks like Nicki Minaj has a few new alter egos ready to move in with Roman and the gang: Marquise de ÂÂMontespan, Comtesse du Barry, Madame de Pompadour, and ÂÂMadame Rimsky-ÂÂKorsakov. If those ladies sound like an odd roommate choice to bunk with Barbie and Martha, blame artist Francesco Vezzoli, who styled Nicki Minaj’s W Magazine cover as an homage to a series of famous courtesans. We don’t know if we really get the connection (other than having the most fabulous wigs of all time), but recent Nicki Minaj fashion choices suggest that she do pretty much anything to stay edgy. That being said, please don’t tell us we have to start sporting those weird dangling eye pendants this winter. We just now retired our Uggs-and-gaucho-pants ensemble from 2005, and our wardrobes have so much catching up to do.

Taylor Lautner is smoking on GQ Australia‘s October-November cover! This, guys, is retro done right, as opposed to Ian Somerhalder in Flaunt where the vintage vibe is just whack. He’s like the dapper, younger Don Draper without the angst! Side-parted hair? Checkkit!
Taylor’s interview with the mag also shows what a baller he is. He’s bought a silver, 2012 SLS AMG Mercedes-Benz whose basic model starts at $175,000. We’re guessing he didn’t just buy a basic version though. He said, “As you know, I’ve been driving the same car [a BMW 5 series] for the past four years. But I’ve always been a huge car fan. And I would always go to dealerships and drool. And I definitely always had my eye on this car. And it was a long process before I even considered getting a car like that. It’s a childhood dream.” We love the little humble bit in the end but dude still has major cred. We also suggest that you make sure to check out the gallery here for some seriously drool-worthy photographs of Tay. It makes the interview look like ancient Greek.

Check out Adele‘s Vogue UK October cover! How smoldering does she look? She’s fully the sloe-eyed vixen in this shot! It’s no secret that we love her here at the FABlife and could not be happier seeing this awesome woman taking on Vogue. We also love her interview inside because it sounds like vintage Adele — no holds barred!
The singer reveals her pre-show prep and it sounds pretty messy. “I puke quite a lot before going on stage“, she shares. “Though never actually on stage. But then, I sh—t myself before everything …The bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show!” That’s a pretty extreme case of nerves and not particularly healthy, so we hope she overcomes the stage fright.
We also like the fact that she takes the very dodgy question of diets head-on in a fashion magazine. It feels like she’s politely giving them a piece of her mind! Adele says, “I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I don’t want that in my life. I have [body] insecurities, of course, but I don’t hang out with anyone who points them out to me.” And you ask us why we adore this woman? Who wouldn’t?

So we gave the guys a little something earlier to brighten up their Monday — Scarlett Johansson. It’s treat time for the ladies now and it sure is a delicious one. Kellan Lutz in GQ Australia — this month’s issue. ‘Nuff said. Oh wait, it’s not because have you seen how HOT he looks? Our eyes are literally glazing over, so bear with us!
Also, we totally love the fact that the writer calls him “resplendently rippled” in the piece, which not only made us laugh hysterically, but has now become our favorite descriptive phrase ever. And here’s the perfect follow-up to that, “Lutz looks like a guy sent from some super-race of humanity to kick your arse.” But hey, don’t mind us. There’s 10 pictures of resplendently rippled Lutz waiting to be viewed so knock yourself out. Here’s the link, so click, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy!

What a cover! Glamour Magazine’s October issue has Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore and Alicia Keys taking the reins in super-hot shots and a great interview to boot. The trio collaborated to help launch Five, a series of films about women and breast cancer set to air on Lifetime on October 10. Each of the three women have directed one segment each.
While the interview deals with their ideas about their short films (Jennifer’s is called Mia), it also delves into other subjects. Like why Jennifer has been wearing the same bikini for years! She explained, “And I’ll wear it for as many years as the strings still tie! Bathing suits now have so much hardware on them that they singe your skin. When you take your bikini off, it looks like you’ve been branded with crop circles and lightning bolts and words like Gucci!”
Demi — her film is called Charlotte — talks about her Twitter usage and her reasons for it, saying, “Originally, Ash and I were just playing, seeing what it did and what it meant… I saw Twitter as this opportunity to connect with people and actually show a side of myself that is much lighter. And all of a sudden people were getting to know me, and I was connecting with people. At its core Twitter is about sharing, and I think that in life we never feel better or more energized than when we’re giving to someone else.”
Alicia (her segment’s called Lili) talks about her family — son Egypt and husband Swizz Beatz and what a connected little unit they are. She revealed, “We’re such a bonded happy family, and I hope that we’ll always be able to be that. For me, the most important thing is that we always take the time to understand each other and grow together. We’re all going to change. Otherwise, it’s boring. Who wants to stay the damn same all their life?” Read the interview here for more insights on these three gorgeous women. We love that they’ve been styled so naturally too!

Okay, the September cover of Interview Magazine with Anne Hathaway is drop dead gorgeous. It reminds us of the Kate Moss 2008 Interview cover which is admittedly more feline. But hey, Anne is Catwoman and we feel this cover is a more couture nod to that role. But apart from our sartorial thumbs-up, we truly appreciate Chelsea Handler‘s interview with Anne, which only made us love the actress more.
We find out that the actress is, in fact, a Jersey Girl, which obviously leads to a full discussion about her love for that seminal show — Jersey Shore. And her similarities with Snooki and JWoww. Anne reveals, “… I like to watch MTV for escapist pleasure, but when I saw Snooki, I saw my twin. I couldn’t lose myself in the show anymore because there I was… That being said, I think JWoww is amazing. I love JWoww. She’s intense. See, JWoww to me is proper Jersey because she will scrap for a friend.” Because, and you and I did not know this about Anne, but she can get pretty scrappy herself.
She explained this pugilist side with, “My best friend got married this past weekend in Barcelona, and I was one of her bridesmaids. She’s one of my best friends from Jersey, and this guy was messing with her, and I was totally like, “Who am I punching?” She was like, “No one. You’re not going to punch anyone. And I was like, “Fair enough, but if a fight breaks out, who do you want me to swing at?”
We want to be besties with Anne now and vacation with her Positano too.
