It’s been game on between Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway with all the promotional events surrounding Les Miserables. Amanda just scored herself another win with this InStyle January 2013 cover because she looks so … polished. That’s the word we’re going for because it’s so appropriate considering she’s wearing such a genteel powder-blue Chanel bodysuit and skirt, and not to mention those gorgeous silver Jimmy Choos. We vote her hair as the most covetable of the year as well because it’s giving us serious follicle envy! Luckily, and predictably — because we love her potty mouth — the interview inside the magazine isn’t as genteel as the cover. She’s talking about the nude scenes she’s done for Lovelace and about the fact that they’re really, erm, believable. “It’s not about my body. It’s not about me.,” she says. “You’re playing somebody else. You’re not going to believe a love scene if the people are dressed. You’re not going to believe a stripper who has on a bra and underwear the whole time.” Guess that means we’re to expect no bra or underwear. She’s also talking about her lovelife and harks back to her time (well-spent) with one Mister Josh Hartnett. Remember that phase? Her hilarious quote reads, “I can’t date anybody without it being portrayed as a serious relationship in the tabloids. It sucks! Like Josh Hartnett and I were friends; we hung out, we dated. I don’t actually have sex with every male I come into contact with.” Amanda … never change.

Have you heard of Factice magazine? The French fashion magazine has flown below the radar for us so far but thanks to Kim Kardashian, we’re not going to forget the name any time soon. Ms. Kim is gracing the cover of the current issue dressed like a ’90s supermodel … without the designer clothes. White lingerie, garter-belts and a large fur gilet is all she’s got on. Wonder what boyfriend Kanye West has to say about this? Because he has a lot to say about a lot of things. And his girlfriend being *ahem* unclothed seems like a topic of discussion. We’ve got the whole cover coming right up, but it’s super NSFW, so be warned. Is this trashy or classy? We like the lightened hair and the makeup fits the bill, and you have to admit, her body does like pretty fantastic. But it’s such an … obvious shot, right? But honestly, the verdict is up to you, so let us know in the comments section below. Behold the picture … Read more…
Jessica Chastain has not one, but four covers for W Magazine‘s “Art Meets Fashion” January, 2013, where the actress, “plays human canvas to four leading artists of the day.” She’s basically, being interpreted by the artists, and George Condo is one of them and has said, “I wanted Jessica to become part of the painting and then appear to come off it, as if she were breaking free and leaving behind an empty space. “I liked that the paintings were 3-D.” Of participating in his art, Chastain’s response has been, “I love the feeling of giving myself over to another strong point of view. It’s the best kind of trust—the belief that an artist will take care of me while creating something unique.” Chantal Joffe is another, although Jessica had to Skype with her, as the artist is afraid of flying, so couldn’t commute from London! “I never saw Chantal in person, but her softness and phobic nature affected me,” Chastain says. “I could hear the mix of shyness and strength in her voice, and I tried to channel that feeling. I found Chantal very feminine, so I moved that way. I fixed my hair by the window, I slouched while seeming intent.” Condo’s cover is the one you see above, while the one below is Joffe’s. Condo himself designed the dress Jessica’s wearing on the cover, and she’s wearing Calvin Klein for the Joffe version.
Kate Upton‘s up on the cover of Vogue U.K.‘s January 2013, but for once, we’re not focusing on how pretty the model looks. Because the first line of the profile the fashion features editor, Sarah Harris, has written about her steals the shows. “Standing at 5ft 10in, with her outsize bosoms and long slender legs, Kate Upton has a body that belongs to the supermodel era of modelling,” she writes. And honestly, “outsize bosoms” is the best phrase we’ve heard in a really long time! She continues with, “… In the flesh, this all-American beauty resembles a young Anna Nicole Smith or Marilyn Monroe; her face is very pretty and perfectly symmetrical (with the exception of that mole, so exquisitely placed to the right, it looks like it might have been drawn on by the modelling gods). She also has the ability, with the slightest of expressions, to flit with ease between girlishly wholesome and full-on sex. All things considered, it’s a knockout formula.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. But the person who says it best, out of us all, is the magazine’s editor, Alexandra Shulman, who nails it with, “When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!” And with that, she just handed us our new favourite word: heffalump.

Jessica Biel‘s landed Elle‘s January 2013 cover, and as you can see above, we don’t know what takes precdence: that necklace or her bangs! She poses with a number of our favorite designers in the spread, including Giambattista Valli, Jean Paul Gaultier and Azzedine Alaïa, but the interview is all about her wedding to Justin Timberlake, and what it’s like being Mrs. J.T. She’s also talked about the now-famous pink wedding dress she wore, saying, “I wanted the dress to be very romantic and feminine and a shape that I very rarely wear. I have never been crazy about all-white wedding dresses, for me at least. [Valli] had created that same fabric in a fuchsia-and-pink combination for a dress in a previous collection, and I asked him if he could create that same pattern in a white combination, and he suggested pink. It was a bit of a leap of faith at the time, but it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. [Putting it on], I felt like I had made the right choice. I felt elegant. And it moved like a dream.”
Another super cute moment is when she talks about Justin’s domestic side — he really has one, people — revealing, “He bakes pies. He’s Southern, so he’s got all this influence from his grandma. He does a three-layer pie…and blueberry crunch cake, which is pretty unbelievable. It doesn’t happen all that often, thank God. Otherwise, it would be a big problem.” And does anyone else think their idea of marriage sounds adorable, but kind of sexy? Her idea comprises, “It means always having someone there to open the pickle jar…to share the ups and downs with, have adventures with. Someone to go swimming naked with. That kind of thing.” He bakes and goes skinny-dipping — do not let this one go, Jessica.

Gwyneth Paltrow is gracing the cover of InStyle U.K.’s January 2013 issue and we’re a bit perplexed. Not by the very Upper East Side Gossip Girl pastelness of the pink Jill Sander coat she’s wearing. It’s because of her face. She looks weirdly un-Gwyneth-like (*cough* airbrush *cough*) and it’s freaking us out a little. The cover story has designer Diane von Furstenberg interviewing the actress who, of course, talks about her exercise and diet regimen. “I was very strict for a while. I was macrobiotic for a couple of years, then I got pregnant and just ate ice cream,” she says. “What I’ve learnt is I want to enjoy my life and food is a big part of it. I love to cook and feed people. I cook every day. I don’t like sweets. My indulging is a fresh baguette with cheese and a glass of red wine, or French fries and fried zucchini. Or a turkey burger.” And our immediate response to that is, where does she put it? She’s also talking about the possibility of having more children, revealing, “My brain says, ‘Oh, I think I’m done, the kids are big now and I don’t want to go back to changing diapers’. But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I’m old now!” We disagree. Bring back mom, Gwyneth! And let’s just take it easy on the retouching now, shall we? We actually like her face the way it is.

Have you recovered yet from the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere day, or are you still feeling the after effects? Did Robert Pattinson‘s green Gucci suit blow you away? Did Kristen Stewart‘s amazing Zuhair Murad gown make you sigh? Yes, to both, for us. But Kristen’s whole thing with the gown and styling made us really think about what a long way she’s come. The hair and makeup were so spot on and glamorous that it almost made us nostalgic for a kohl-eyed, bed-head K.Stew of the past. We said almost. And that got us thinking even further: How much has Kristen’s face and look changed over the years? We looked way back to 2002, to the days of Panic Room and worked our way up to the present and got our answer.
As you can see, through the 65 images in the gallery above, in chronological order, Kristen’s been through everything from short to long hair, from blond, to brunette, to highlights to brown and back again. The same can be said for her makeup, and she looks good in everything from fire-engine red lips to silvery, smoky lids that complement those gorgeous green eyes. One thing that’s stayed constant through the decade, though, is her fantastic skin. Check out the photographs and let us know what your favorite moments are and whether this makes you love you some Kristen even more. You wouldn’t be the only one. There are a whole bunch of folks who feel just as strongly for Bella, as you’ll see in the video below!

Is Keira Knightley trying to give Rihanna a run for her money? Because Rihanna posed naked for the December cover of GQ, whereas Keira is just topless for the December cover of Allure. But there are no losers here, least of all any of those two because they look incredible. Where Ri-Ri was styled far more naturally (or is it au naturel), Keira’s look is a lot more glamorous with red lips and tousled waves, which, as the hairstylist Christiaan helpfully explains as, “We wanted it to look sexy and flexible—like it was destroyed after a wild night, but not too, too wild.” Rihanna’s jacket that (barely) covered her modesty was a leather one, but Keira’s is a more glossy sequined version. And considering it’s a little hard to miss that she’s wearing nothing under that sparkly little bolero, the interview itself doesn’t let you forget that either. Keira talks about nudity in film saying, “I’m quite rigorous about what gets exposed. No bottom half! I don’t mind exposing my tits because they’re so small—people really aren’t that interested!” And as for deciding how much to show, “I think it’s much easier as you get older. You can say, ‘No.’ ‘Yes.’ ‘No.'” This is the part that we’re going to insert that she’s only 27-years-old. There is no “older” just yet.

So, Warm Bodies, the upcoming Summit movie based on the novel by Isaac Marion, starring Nicholas Hoult is something we just know we’re going to obsess over. By that, we mean we’re going to obsess about him. Jennifer Lawrence just got there a lot quicker than us, considering he’s her boyfriend. Smart girl! That’s how she won the Hunger Games. Because she has the brains and she’s gorgeous, as is most evident from her December cover for Elle. That gorgeous white stretch jersey dress is by Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, and we fall all nostalgic already since Nico just left the company! We also felt all mushy and warm as Jennifer talked about her relationship with Hoult because it’s so cute, normal and adorkable. They sound like the sort of couple that could totally vegetate with each other in sweatpants and zero makeup (for her, obvs), and we know that’s love. “[My boyfriend] is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I’m his best friend too. He’s my favorite person to be around and makes me laugh harder than anybody, ” she says. See what we mean? It gets even better as she added, “We can eat Cheetos and watch beach volleyball and we turn into two perverted Homer Simpsons, like, ‘Oh, she’s got a nice a—.’ I never thought we’d have such different opinions on a—s.” It’s official now … we’re in love with them!

So, Cameron Diaz is on the December cover of Elle U.K making that Chanel couture dress look like something she just threw on in the morning. But here’s the thing. Emma Stone already wore the same dress to the L.A premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man back in June and worked it out with the whole ensemble. Burn for Cameron? Yes, we’d kind of say so, even though Cameron does look pretty damn good. Emma just looks far more polished. And more awake. Any one else thinks Cameron looks drowsy or should they have upped the eye makeup? She makes up for being second in the style stakes (which isn’t her fault, it’s the stylist’s) by talking about one of our favorite male faces — Michael Fassbender — who she stars with in the upcoming film, The Counselor by saying, “He does have a lot of confidence.” Why would anyone who looked like that and had that sort of talent not be confident? The interview took place at the famous Punchbowl Tavern in Mayfair, London, so expect lots of booze talk. They even sprung a “pub quiz” on her and we can’t wait to hear her answers — and the questions!
