You couldn’t have missed the bloody Justin BieberComplex covers we posted yesterday. The unusual dual covers are for the magazine’s 10th anniversary issue next month and they’re not quite done with just showing us the Bieb’s black eyes. There’s a second dual cover for the same issue and Complex have got Nicki Minaj on it. Trippy! Make sure you don’t stare too long ’cause your eyes will start bugging out!
Nicki’s cover story deals with skyrocketing career and the pressure behind it, which you don’t get to see. For instance, did you know that she has a meltdown backstage at the American Music Awards? She revealed, “… The American Music Awards was set to be an amazing performance, but then I had a horrible malfunction with the clothes and the hair ten minutes before I opened. So I was backstage having a fucking nervous breakdown.” When asked to explain further, she replied, “My hair was supposed to light up, my choker was too small. So while I was in the box, waiting for the show to open, I had to rip the shit off, throw it to the side, and act like nothing happened. When I got off stage I freaked out because it was just so emotional. I really, really, really wanted that to be a dope show.” She’s a woman of many mysteries, our Nicki. We’re not going to make you wait till next month to see the second cover. Click after the jump if you’d like a peek. Read more…
Sofia Vergara is amazingly sexy. All of us know that. But Esquire decided to chisel that fact in stone by putting her in a corset on the April cover. And just in case the point wasn’t being driven home enough, they also put the words “sex” in huge letters right across the page. Thanks, Esquire. We get it. We’re not huge fans of Pinup-Girl 101 pit shots, but the Modern Family star knows how to work it like it’s never been worked before.
We also had a good laugh reading the interview, which is, in essence, an American man’s guide to understanding a Latina. It was funny, sharp and will probably be the reason why there will be a huge exodus of men swarming to Colombia. That will happen because of how Vergara describes bathing suits there. “There’s nothing slutty about a dental-floss bikini. You don’t even think about it. The first bathing suit your mother buys you is in the shape of a triangle,” Vergara explains. The addendum was, “Well, in Colombia everybody’s very voluptuous and you’re supposed to be. You don’t want to be skinny when all of your cousins are mermaids. You grow up thinking that’s how beauty is.” See what we mean? Our apologies for interrupting you. You’re already booking a one-way ticket, aren’t you?

Magazine interviews have to go through a whole lot of fact-checking and editing, so I’m pretty sure that Claire Hoffman was not just writing fiction as she described the setting of her interview with Drake for GQ‘s April cover story. But damn, it sounds like my fantasy: “Waterfalls gush all around, surging over enormous boulders. Bronze animals—lions, elephants, giraffes!—checker the lawn, glimmering in the last light of the San Fernando Valley sun. A giant fire, fit for a king from Middle-earth, burns in an outdoor fireplace, and a flat-screen TV plays Sixteen Candles.” Drake greets her from his couch, they drink wine spritzers, then he gives her a tour of his bedroom (which he has to punch in a key code on a bookshelf to enter!) and shows off the projector operated from his bed. This can’t be real! What did I do wrong in our careers not to be Claire Hoffman.
Oops, sorry, did I write that aloud? Anyway, we all benefit from Claire’s hard work. Because we find out that not only does the man know how to set up a ridiculously romantic date, he talks like a Ryan Gosling “Hey Girl” post, downplaying his interest in casual sex and talking about his search for something real.
“I’m trying to find the same feelings that I had for women when I had very little going on, which is tough,” he said. “When I was in my mom’s house, I had nowhere to go, no real obligations. My girlfriend at the time, if she was mad at me, my day was all f—ed-up.”
Extra! Extra! There’s a hooligan on the April cover ofPlayboy, and he looks like he may be doo-wopping. Thasright. It’s retro dreamboat Bruno Mars covering the men’s magazine next month. The singer (fully-clothed, of course) appears alongside Miss April, Raquel Pomplun for Playboy‘s “Sex and Music” issue. Mars has the honor of being the 10th man in the magazine’s 58-year-old history, to appear on the cover. Here’s a little trivia: The first man to get a cover was Peter Sellers, back in 1964. It’s been a small club since then with men like Burt Reynolds (1979), Steve Martin (1980) and Donald Trump (1990) following suit. The last man before Bruno to get a cover was Seth Rogen in 2009.
The singer’s also posing in a full fashion spread inside, accompanying the interview where he discusses topics like the musicians who influenced him growing up. “Growing up in the showbiz world, I looked up to those guys: Frank Sinatra and of course Elvis Presley. My dad was into the 1950s doo-wop era,” Bruno reveals, adding, “If you look at those groups, or at James Brown, Jackie Wilson and the Temptations in the 1960s, you’ll see you had to be sharp onstage.” The magazine’s out on stands the day after tomorrow if you want a peek.

Leighton Meester might be most well known for having the shiniest hair of all time on Gossip Girl or for that one horrible ear piercing scene in The Roommate (You know the one. It’s terrifying!), but more and more the That’s My Boy star has started opening up about the more…complicated parts of her life experience. “My family has a crazy history,” Meester explains in Marie Claire. “Probably the craziest I’ve heard of.” For starters, both Leighton’s mother Constance and father Doug have served prison time on drug-related charges. “I look back now and I see it in a nice light,” the actress says of her childhood. “It wasn’t uncomplicated. But I played outside. I went to the beach. There were happy, fun times.” Hmmm, considering her mother was accused of making death threats as well as allegedly attempting to steal money from her son’s health care fund last year alone, it sounds like Leighton is being as positive as humanly possible about her past. Maybe even more so!
It’s understandable, then, that Leighton might be a little leery about going the conventional family route. “I’m not sure I ever want to get married,” she muses. “The only time a relationship is good is when you really love them. I don’t want to hang out with some guy I just like.” As Leighton concludes, “You can take what is handed to you and use it as an excuse to mess up. But I’ve always handled what was given to me by life. I consider myself lucky. I was never lied to. And I was loved.” We loved you as Blair, girl. Now we love you even more as an actual person.

We always appreciated that Jessica Biel is, for lack of a better term, the Sporty Spice of Hollywood’s starlets. In real life Justin Timberlake‘s lady love might sleep on a bed made of rose pedals with puppies the size of cotton balls, but in our minds she’s repelling down a sheer rock wall into her kitchen for breakfast every morning. Biel’s new W Magazine interview (and insanely toned cover photo) aren’t doing much to convince us otherwise. “Girls were nervous about going into caves; they were scaredy-cats—and I wasn’t into that at all. I loved the idea of being with a crew and having an adventure. I was really interested in pits full of snakes,” Biel says of loving The Goonies as a child, adding, “I’ve always been physical. I have no concept of what life is like without physical activity.” Physical activity in a cutaway white one-piece definitely still counts! Some might argue it counts double!
All of which makes it sound like Jessica will be at her cinematic peak in this summer’s Total Recall reboot, as it features her lady-grappling with Underworld star Kate Beckinsale. “Kate and I usually fight men in movies, and when you knock into a man, he doesn’t care,” Biel explains. “But every two seconds, Kate and I were saying, ‘I’m so sorry—are you okay?’ We were both so nervous about fighting another woman. Which is strange, because I have no problem fighting with a guy. In truth, I like doing anything that requires breaking a sweat.” Like looking at pictures of yourself in hanging out poolside in a bra, for example? Okaaaaay? Seriously though, girl, you make us want to run wind sprints all the way to the gym.

Heidi Klum is finally talking — well, sorta talking — about her split with husband Seal. And she’s doing it in the best way possible: by looking soft and beautiful off the cover of Elle’s April issue (an alternate cover from the Jessica Simpson one). We’ve actually been waiting to hear from her, since we’ve so far just read the (ex) couple’s joint statement and Seal’s take on the marriage breaking up. Heidi’s sort of addressed it, in a general way, but we’re glad she’s opening up a little more. Of the divorce, the supermodel reveals, “I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado. It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness — with you wanting it or not wanting it — is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life.”
She also addresses the reasons why she’s trying not to talk about it, especially to the media. Heidi told the magazine, “I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had. Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary — especially for our children — to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.” And just like that, we don’t want to know anymore, because we totally agree with her.

Not to be outdone by Snooki or ex-husband Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson posed nude, Demi Moore-style, for the new issue of Elle. (In an alternate cover, she also wears a gorgeous red Narcisso Rodriguez dress, pictured below the jump.) We feel like she’s been pregnant forever (and imagine how she feels!), and are surprised to find that giant bump contains only one little girl. Well, we suppose that goes with the territory of having a kid with a former football player like Eric Johnson.
In the fashion mag, Simpson says she hopes her little one has her sense of style. “Ah swear, ah will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins! Eric is so athletic. We’re gonna have this ath-a-letic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping.” (That’s the Elle editors mimicking her Dallas accent, btw.)
You don’t have to lie to us; we know how much you love being in Katniss’s sights. Go ahead and enjoy it all you like. Jennifer Lawrence has her steely heroine face on for the cover of Entertainment Weekly‘s new Hunger Games issue, which was revealed today. “Is it violent?” director Gary Ross says of his film as part of the mag’s behind-the-scenes coverage. “Yes. Do we back off from what it is? No, we don’t.” Ugh, it’s like we’re actually right there in the arena with her! And there is no way we are getting out alive!

Katy Perry‘s April cover for Interview Magazine was leaked yesterday so they hurriedly put up a ‘sneak peek‘ of the shot on their website to minimize damage. We’ve never seen Katy like this before and are totally enamored of this photograph. A lot of buzz on the internet has been about Amy Winehouse comparisons, because of the hair and eyeliner. We think she looks more like an early 90’s supermodel with that styling. The metallic bustier, the gloves, the earrings, the pout … she could totally be Tatjana Patitz or someone of her ilk. We also can’t wait to read the issue because the interview has been conducted by one of our favorite funny ladies, Kristen Wiig, so you know it’s going to be a hoot.
