Losing the Miss California crown isn’t making Carrie Prejean‘s life any easier. The organization behind the pageant has threatened to sue her if she continues to argue her firing was over the Prop 8 controversy. “If Carrie Prejean wants to assert in public that she was courteous, cooperative or professional in her conduct as Miss California USA, the history of her churlish insolent misbehavior can be presented.” The pageant’s letter, discovered by TMZ, lists 39 pageant appearances she refused to attend.
And those aren’t the only people she flaked out on. Clothing company Sledge USA has dropped Prejean as its fall spokesmodel, saying “she did not keep her appointments at all.” While her loss of title reportedly had nothing to do with their choice, Sledge is replacing Prejean with none other than Tami Farrell, the new Miss California. That’s gotta hurt.
Carrie Prejean‘s conspiracy theories about her firing won’t be helped by the sight of ex-Miss California executive director—and Prejean opposer–-Shanna Moakler posing withTami Farrell at her first public appearance as the new Miss Cali. While angry, demanding e-mails from Prejean to her bosses have been leaked to the public, she still claims its her anti-gay marriage stance that’s behind the loss of her crown. “It’s a set-up,” she told the Today Show this morning. “I think most Americans know that’s the reason I’m here today.”
Tami Farrell, the woman replacing Carrie Prejean as Miss California 2009, is no stranger to beauty pageants. Originally from Oregon, she was crowned Miss Teen USA in 2003. In the years since, she’s worked as a singer and a pageant judge. She became Miss Malibu last year and was appointed the “Beauty Ambassador Of California” after coming in second to Prejean.
Unlike outspoken anti-gay-rights activist Prejean, Farrell is staying mum on hot topics. “It’s something each state should decide—It’s silly…that the world is looking to beauty queens for the answer…there’s so many other amazing organizing and great things we can champion here.”
Though the media learned Carrie Prejeanwas getting fired before she did (“This is the first that I’ve heard of it,” she told Access Hollywood when they asked for her take), the former Miss California has a theory as to why she was fired—and it’s not that she was missing appearances.
What’s behind this I think is a political debate. They don’t agree with the stance that I took [on Prop 8]. Shanna [Moakler, ex-Miss California USA Executive Director] is trying to bash me. They don’t like me. From day one they wanted me out and they got what they wanted…I was very respectful of people even when they slandered me and humiliated me. I have not once stooped down to their level.
She also claims that the pageant wanted her to pose for Playboy and star on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Though director Keith Lewis says he was merely passing along all offers as she’d earlier requested.
“It was a combatative relationship. It was just very difficult for us….I don’t think she ever really wanted to have the title afterwards because that wasn’t consistent with her behavior,” Lewis told CBS’ The Early Show this morning.
“I think if you tell your boss, I’m not going to do the job, I’m going to do whatever I want, you can’t tell me what I’m going to do, I think that you expect that your boss is going to say to you, you know what, you’re probably not supposed to be in this job anymore.”
Carrie Prejean is set to be stripped of her 2009 Miss California title, only weeks after Donald Trump promised she could keep the crown. “After our press conference in New York we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship,” saidKeith Lewis, a producer for the Miss California pageant, in documents released by Fox News. “However, since that time it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.” Did Prejean decide she could make more money in the conservative circuit than on parade floats?
In the same documents, Trump says he’s OK with her dismissal. “I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately it just doesn’t look like it is going to happen.” Prejean will be replaced by first runner-up Tami Farrell—and Shanna Moakler has something to smirk about.
Donald Trump won’t have Shanna Moakler to kick around any more. The former Miss USA has resigned as executive director of Miss California USA after the pageant owner ignored her claim that current Miss Cali Carrie Prejean violated her contract.
Trump, ignoring the uproar over her topless photos and anti-gay marriage activism, decided to let Prejean keep her title, saying the pictures were “not a big deal” and praising for her stoking a political debate. Moakler, though diplomatic at Tuesday’s press conference, was apparently not pleased. “I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it,” she said in a statement.
“Our issue was never about her opinions about same-sex marriage or the pictures,” Moakler said at the conference. “Our issue was with her complying with our agreement. When you sign the contract, we ask you to show us everything you are being offered. That wasn’t happening.”
Jamie Foxx blames it on the alcohol, and Miss California Carrie Prejean blames it on the wind. Carrie explained that the most recently circulated photos of the controversial beauty queen topless, which were obtained by TMZ, were not done with her boobies out purposely, it was just “a windy day.” Luckily for Carrie, Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump announced today thatshe will keep her crown, and the Donald seems to think the photos are “just fine.” [Photo: Splash News Online]
This was bound to happen, if the sex tape didn’t surface first. Miss California Carrie Prejean opened her big controversial mouth touting the greatness of “opposite marriage” and as soon as the words “no offense to anybody” left her mouth, every former boyfriend from her past went scrambling through their collection of photos to find those sexy pictures she shared back before her pageant days. And now, The Dirty has gotten hold of this scandalous photo of Miss CA posing topless in her hot pink undies.
In related Miss CA news, Carrie had expressed that she believed she lost the chance at the Miss USA title when she expressed her controversial opinion about gay marriage. However, this morning on The View, pageant owner Donald Trump set the record straight. “We added up the points,” The Donald said, “She would not have won anyway.”
Reportedly this is not the only nudie photo of Carrie and more are soon to be released. Miss CA is surely saying her prayers now! For the full photo click here. [Source, Photo: The Dirty]
On the heels of Miss California Carrie Prejean singing the controversial praises of “opposite marriage,” former Miss Californias Tamiko Nash, Raquel Beezley, and Shanna Moakler have posed for a new ad in support of gay rights.
Shanna, who has apologized to “the men and woman who have continually supported the Miss California USA pageant,” and said, “I know some were hurt and felt a sense of betrayal, but I thank you for your understanding, communication, love and continued support,” toldAccess Hollywood that the Miss California pageant was supporting Carrie in more ways than one. Shanna revealed that the pageant paid for Carrie’s breast implants six weeks before the competition. No wonder they are pissed! They shelled out big $$$$ for a new pair of boobies and then she went and caused all this drama with her “biblically correct” song and dance. [Source: Us Weekly; Photo: Adam Bouska]
We didn’t tune in to last night’s Miss USA pageant, as those things are normally boring and the best parts – the falls and vapidity – always make it onto YouTube. Last night’s show was no different, and today we were thrilled to enjoy this clip of Miss California, Carrie Prejean, stumbling her way through an inarticulate response to judge Perez Hilton‘s question about legalizing gay marriage.
We’ll leave her personal beliefs alone (even though, ya know, we disagree) but just watching her call heterosexual marriage “opposite marriage” makes the clip worth watching over and over again. Here’s a transcript of her answer:
“Well, I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And you know what, in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think it should be between a man and a woman. Thank you very much.”
