Ryan Seacrest reported this week that SNL actor Jason Sudeikis will host the MTV Movie Awards, which will be held in June. Ever since 1992, the MTV Movie Awards have been the anti-award show, not only because they created new categories like Best Kiss and Best Fight, but also because of the random people they’ve chosen to host the show. And while it makes sense for Sudeikis to host since he’s one of many male comedians on the brink of movie-stardom to emcee the event, there have been some odd choices (and odder co-host pairings) throughout the years. Like Sarah Michelle Gellar co-hosting with Jack Black in 2002? That’s weird, even by Buffy standards. Or Lisa Kudrow in 1999. Yes, it made sense at the time but we’ve totally blocked it from our memory.
Check out our gallery of the other hosts of the Movie Awards in past years and let us know if you think Sudeikis will be one of the better hosts, or if he’ll be totally forgettable. Like the coupling of Jon Lovitz and Courteney Cox. Betcha didn’t remember that they co-hosted in 1995.

Get ready for some more Les Grossman! Tom Cruise reprised that unforgettable role from 2008′s Tropic Thunder at the MTV Movie Awards last week, where he randomly had a dance off with Jennifer Lopez. Now Paramount and MTV Films confirm that they are developing a movie around Les Grossman, who is an f-bomb dropping, expletive spewing, super raunchy producer. Cruise will star in and produce the movie, along with his Tropic co-star and director Ben Stiller.
Paramount issued a facetious release saying they have “secured the life rights to Grossman,” who is described as having “recently mentored talents such as Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.” Adam Goodman, Paramount Film Group President added, “Everything I learned in this business, I’ve learned from Les. I started out as his assistant, and from the first day he threw his desk at me when I got his lunch order wrong, I have loved him like a father.”
Not one to be left behind, Stiller released his own statement saying, “Les Grossman’s life story is an inspiring tale of the human class struggle to achieve greatness against all odds. He has assured me he plans to quote ‘F**king kill the sh*t out of this movie and make Citizen f**king Kane look like a piece of crap home movie by the time we are done.’ I am honored to be working with him.”
The Paramount press release also included a “statement” from Grossman. “He” was asked about the screenplay details and replied, “To quote my great friend Kirk Lazarus, `I don’t read the script, the script reads me.”’ Lazarus was a character in Tropic Thunder magnificently portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. As Les might say, this is going to be f**king brilliant!

In case you missed it, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards went down last night. After a bunch of F-bombs were dropped and some interesting fashion choices were displayed, we walked away from the event feeling pretty sure about a few things: we’re convinced Robert Pattinson (photos) and Kristen Stewart (photos) are totally a couple (check out 80 Robsten photos worth of proof), Tom Cruise is only tolerable as Les Grossman and Jesse James is weeping Vanilla Gorilla tears after Sandra Bullock made all of our jaws drop with her charming speech, gorgeous dress and steamy kiss with Scarlett Johansson.
Yes, Sandra and Scarlett swapped spit onstage, but that’s not the first time Sandra has shared the stage and her lips with another beautiful actress. Earlier this year, Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep kissed in an unforgettable moment at the 2010 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. We want to know which kiss you think was hotter! Sandra and Scarlett’s sensual peck or Sandra and Meryl’s open mouthed kiss?
Watch Sandra and Meryl’s surprise smooch from the CCMAs now.
This was a big weekend for Sandra Bullock. Not only did she accept the Generation Award at the MTV Movie Awards last night, but she also was honored with the Entertainer of the Year award at the Spike TV Guy’s Choice Awards on Saturday. Bullock didn’t shy away from making fun of her personal life and being self-deprecating (while also looking stunning) at both ceremonies.
At the MTV Awards, Bullock accepted her award by saying “No matter what you might have seen or heard or read lately, I like what I’m doing and I’m not going anywhere. Speaking of what you might have seen or heard, I wanted to clarify some things: Number one, I’m not dead. Number two, everyone has cellulite, not just me…Can we please go back to normal? Because therapy is really expensive! Go back to making fun of me, I don’t care!”
At the Guy’s Choice Awards, Bullock made an even more overt reference to her marriage by accepting her award in front of a group of U.S. troops and telling them, “Let’s be honest here, just for a moment. Did I win this for being entertainer of the year, or did I win this because of the spectacular I.E.D. (improvised explosive device) explosion that became my personal life?! It’s okay. Because I would do it over again if it was to entertain our troops, and our extraordinary troops deserve something much more than some actress in a tight dress talking (about) herself.”
This woman is so poised and classy in the wake of everything she’s been through, it’s seriously impressive. She is clearly coming out on top in this whole mess, further proving that Jesse James had a really good thing going and threw it all away for some trashy Nazi couch sex.

Robert Pattinson (photos) and Kristen Stewart (photos) pretty much confirmed what we all already knew (and hoped) at the MTV Movie Awards tonight. There’s no way they’re not dating. Throughout the show, Rob and Kristen were leaned towards each other, sharing glances and giggling. When Kristen won “Best Female Performance,” Rob hoot and hollered as her named was called, she touched his stomach as she passed, and he checked out her bum as she strolled to the stage. Once she accepted her award and gave a trademark awkward speech laden with thumbs-up, he looked on with twinkly eyes and an adoring smile. Swoon.
Then, there was their “Best Kiss” acceptance shenanigans. Though the secret couple’s plan may have been to tease us for the second year in a row, Rob could not resist stealing a smooch. We’re unconvinced the kiss was scripted, as Kristen seemed legitimately surprised and peeved, while Rob looked far too pleased with himself. Note that his tongue even came out to do a victory lap.
Still skeptic? Here are 80 pieces of photographic evidence that Robsten (photos) is more than just every Twi-hard’s fantasy. [Photos: TheFABLife, Getty Images]
It’s really nice that so many celebrities showed up for the 2010 Twilight Awards…er, MTV Movie Awards. The ceremony boasted a pretty great Tom Cruise dance number, Sandra Bullock in her first official public appearance since you know what, Aziz Ansari as master of ceremonies, and lots and lots of Twilight.
We have to say that we were touched by Sandra Bullock’s appearance. Not only did she look amazing in her black sequined dress (somewhere, Jesse James is crying on his sex couch over what he will never have again), but she seemed energized by the crowd and eager to move on from the crap of the past six months. Our favorite line of hers, after she accepted her Generation Award, was when she encouraged us all to “go back to making fun of me”. Oh, Sandy. Why you gotta be so likable? Also, why you gotta make All About Steve?
This year may not have seen Borat‘s taint landing just south of Eminem’s nostrils, but there were a few surprising moments that were interspersed with all the Twilight-love-festing going on. The Kiss Cam that caught Russell Brand and Jonah Hill locking lips, Xtina‘s light-up heart vagina and Ken Jeong‘s moving, but still WTF-ish acceptance speech when he received his WTF Award were among some of the more attention-getting, but the biggest surprise of all was the lack of bleeping during Peter Facinelli‘s f*ck-filled speech. Facinelli accepted the Best Movie award on behalf of the entire cast of New Moon, and he surely thought that his f-bomb laden speech would be censored only…it wasn’t. So there was a whole lotta f*ckin’ going on.
New Moon and its stars swept all the major categories (Best Male Star and Best Female Star went to Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, respectively, and the pair won Best Kiss – check out their acceptance speech above), while co-star Anna Kendrick picked up the Breakout Star award for her role in Up In The Air. All that in addition to winning Best Film and generally being the most-talked-about subject of everyone’s jokes all night. So what do you think? Was the show too Twilight-heavy, or do these vamps deserve all the awards they earned? Did we miss any of your favorite moments? Let us know what you think in the comments, and check out our mega-gallery from the night below.

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards included some style highlights (Kristen Stewart‘s D&G mini, Sandra Bullock‘s mile-high Louboutins, Whitney Port‘s Yigal Azrouël yellow dress), but for every perfect 10, a belly flop lurked within arm’s reach. What was Katy Perry thinking?! Who let Lindsay Lohan out of the house? And would the real Christina Aguilera please stand up?! Here are our Top 10 WTF fashion moments from the star-filled evening.
10. Katy Perry
Offense #1: Katy Perry’s bright blue wig clashes with her bright yellow nails. Add hundreds of shiny rhinestones to the equation and you get something resembling a human sparkler.
Plus Side: She still looks hot!
9. Snowboarder Shaun White
Offense #1: We know the 60s and 70s are in style, but do we really want to see man nipple on our MTV Movie Awards red carpet? Leave the bare-chested vest to the gang members of 1979′s The Warriors.
Offense #2: We respect that Shaun’s hair has become iconic, but it was iconic for Robert Plant too!
Plus Side: We’d like Shaun’s vest if there were a shirt underneath it.

Say what you will about Tom Cruise (and we sure have said plenty), he was certainly the MVP of the MTV Movie Awards – at least in the non-Twilight category. He must be thanking the Tropic Thunder folks for creating the role of Les Grossman role for him, because he obviously relishes it and has made a comedic name for himself with it, hairy chest and all.
Cruise reprised the character for the award show’s opening sequence and for a musical number with Jennifer Lopez that we at first brushed off as two aging icons painfully reliving their glory days, but after a few high kicks and a seriously impressive split, we took more seriously. All that dancing that he and Katie Holmes do for each other has just been training for this moment and he kicked some ass on that stage. Check out the video of Tom/Les giving some of these young celebs like Taylor Lautner and Jaden Smith a lesson in who really runs Hollywood after the jump.
People are known to take fashion risks at the MTV Movie Awards because unlike other award shows, anything goes. That means you’re just as likely to see glamourous gowns as you are assless chaps (or an assless tiger-print leotard if you’re Ken Jeong). Still, there are some celebrities who know how to combine their version of cool with some serious style, and unfortunately, Ken didn’t make our cut. But Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Stewart did. Check out their dresses and some other winning styles in our Best-Dressed Gallery below. [Photos: Getty Images]
