Taking a break from all of the paternity battle madness, Justin Bieber made some time to hang out with his buddy Jaden Smith recently. It must have been a pretty productive chill sesh, because the two friends recorded their own version of Frank Ocean’s “Thinking Of You” and posted it to their shared Youtube channel. “I hope you like it,” Jaden tweeted this morning as he posted the link. While we definitely do like it, there’s something unsettling about an earbud full of teenage slowjam swag first thing in the morning. But damn, their track could seriously challenge Drake’s Take Care album as the smoothest release of the week. Give it a listen!
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is your boyfriend. Okay, not in reality, nor even in semi-reality like Scarlett Johansson (allegedly), but you do think the 50/50 star is adorable. Willing-to-sit-through-Premium-Rush adorable, which is something. The only question remaining: is it more adorable to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt sing in French, or to hear him serenade you with R. Kelly‘s “Ignition(Remix),” which he covered while visiting OSU recently. Take some time and consider it. Forget all that other stuff that comes to mind when you think about R. Kelly. Focus on the smoothness of the jams, and the adorableness of JGL. The answer will come to you.
He just doesn’t know how to quit you. He being Justin Timberlake, you being the corporeal embodiment of music, we guess. The point is, now matter how many dystopian sci-fi flicks he might star in or on-and-off relationships he might invest his emotional energy in, Justin promises that he will eventually make music feel sexy feelings again. “My idols as it were [Frank] Sinatra and Dean Martin and Gene Kelly, kind of the guys who could do it all,” Timberlake said during his Jimmy Kimmel Live interview last night. “And do it in a way that was authentic to them. I don’t think I could ever stop doing music.” Did you hear that, music? He wants to do you! Seems like our assumptions about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s relationship preventing him from returning to his sweet, sweet tunes isn’t coming true! That Biel must be one open-minded woman!
As if the death of former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh wasn’t a big enough blow to our ’90s hearts, today we learned that TLC‘s T-Boz has been struggling with a brain tumor. But thankfully, this story does have a happy ending. Although being very open about her decade-long struggle with sickle-cell anemia, the R&B singer appeared on CNN over the weekend to talk for the first time about her neurological health scare. “I started having headaches. They were so frequent; something was wrong,” she told Dr. Sanjay Gupta. And then she got one of the scariest phone calls a person can get. “My doctor called but his voice sounded funny. And I said, ‘You’re going to say something like I have a brain tumor or something right?’ And he got quiet.”
Luckily the tumor proved to be operable, she is now cancer free. The surgery did leave T-Boz suffering from poor balance, but she’s currently in therapy and working on a new music video. Hopefully she’ll be getting back to those fly hip-hop moves soon! She also talked about her triumph over sickle cell anemia, which doctor’s said would end her life before 30. “Doctors, they didn’t give me a happy ending,” says the 39-year old. “‘You won’t live past 30, you’ll be disabled your whole life. You’ll never have kids.’ I was looking around the room like, ‘I don’t know who he’s talking to ’cause that’s not my story.” Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re gonna listen to “Creep” on repeat for the rest of the day. We suggest you do the same.

Get lost Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Woodstock: there’s a new epic concert in town! It would probably be easier to name who WASN’T at the iHeartRadio music festival this weekend in Las Vegas than try to tackle the luminous lineup. It’s seems like every big name in entertainment showed their face at the MGM Hotel to groove to the sounds of bands new and old. Lady Gaga ruled supreme (of course) with a hot show including special guest Sting. But the highlight of her set was the emotional tribute to Jamey Rodemeyer, the 14-year-old Gaga fan who committed suicide last Sunday after being tormented by bullies for his homosexuality. Have a tissue ready.
Some of the bigger acts also included Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Jay-Z, Carrie Underwood, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, and we haven’t even scratched the surface. Even the Black Eyed Peas took a hiatus from their hiatus to perform! Check out the gallery below to see which of your favorites tore up the stage and lit up the red carpet!

Rihanna seems to be having so much fun in Brazil! She was staying at the Fasano hotel in Ipanema, Brazil yesterday on her day off between her Brazilian show and her headlining appearance at Rock in Rio. She decided to show some love to her fans but stepping out into the balcony, posing for pictures and giving the the heart sign. Ri-Ri looks lovely rocking what seems to be no make-up, a yellow blouse and shorts showing off those fab legs. It’s a tad more clothing than what Rihanna wore on the balcony of her Rio de Janeiro hotel, remember? Of course you do! It was earlier this week and it’s a little hard to forget Ms Ri in short shorts!

In honor of what should have been Amy Winehouse’s twenty-eighth birthday, the singer’s final recording is being released today, leading to a sudden shortage of Kleenex around the globe. The track responsible for the mass crying sesh is ‘Body And Soul’, the much anticipated duet with legendary crooner Tony Bennett for his upcoming Duets II album. “Recording with Amy was just so beautiful,” he told told MTV News. “I knew after singing with her what a true artistic genius she was because she performed with total and complete honesty. That is a very rare quality.”
The behind-the-scenes clip of the recording session, taken a few short months before her death, show a side of the soulstress that we’re not used to seeing. This isn’t the achingly thin, strung out, destructive and incoherent Amy of tabloid lore. Instead she looks healthy, happy, and giddy to be recording with a star like Bennett, whom she slyly asks if she can call “Tone.” The fact that she looks (and sounds!) better than ever makes the clip all the more heartbreaking. But it also reminds us that though her body gave our far too soon, the girl had enough soul to last a dozen lifetimes. Proceeds from the song will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, established by the late singer’s family. According to a press release, the organization seeks “to support charities and organizations undertaking charitable activities in both the United Kingdom and abroad who help, support, or care for young people.”
Despite initial reports that her pregnancy wouldn’t stop her from Moonwalking, Beyonce has apparently pulled out of the high profile Michael Jackson tribute concert this October. Bebe was supposed to have her spot beamed in live via satellite to the concert arena in Cardiff, Wales, but a source tells RadarOnline that this is sadly no longer the case. Instead she will be offering up a “a special contribution on video.” No word yet on why the singer had to take a downgrade, but we’re guessing it’s pregnancy related. But fans who already have tickets to the sold out gig probably aren’t too bummed. They still have performances from Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight, Ne-Yo and Smokey Robinson to look forward to!

Are you ready to see Paris Hilton behind the console DJ’ing at a club you happen to be, unsuspectingly, grabbing a drink or two at? We’re not sure we want that to happen, because — just no, honey. But if the heiress gets her way, that’s going to become a reality very soon. Paris has apparently been training to become a house music DJ! And part of her research has been tailing top spinmeisters across the globe to learn some tricks. These include top dogs like Afrojack and Deadmau5 who are supposedly, good friends of hers.
The aim is to become the top female house DJ ever because, as a source explains, “no woman has ever taken over in that arena … and she wants to become that person.” She’s also been working on a house music album which she’s pushing to release before the year ends. You guys on board with this?

Soulja Boy is in trouble with the U.S. Armed Forces and it’s all because of his song Let’s Be Real. A retired sergeant named Leo Dunson heard the track and got riled up because of the lyrics ‘F—k the army troops’ and actually recorded a scathing rap response called Change Your Name. His rapper avatar is called — fittingly — Sgt. Dunson and because that wasn’t enough, he’s also started an online petition to get Soulja Boy’s music banned from military bases across the country.
Dunson’s reasoning is that Soulja’s tune is, “The most ignorant thing I’ve heard in so long.” He also thinks that it’s completely in poor taste as the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 is around the corner. What do you think, guys? Is it a case of excessive moral policing or does Dunson’s petition (which is gathering speed) warranted?
