New, Previously Unseen Photographs Of Marilyn Monroe Up For Auction

Looking at these photographs of Marilyn Monroe, it’s evident that no one will come even close to her. Favorites of ours like Michelle Williams (My Week With Marilyn) even pale in comparison. We won’t even get into that other Monroe enthusiast, Lindsay Lohan. Just, no. The pictures that you see of the late actress above and below in the gallery are being put up for auction day after tomorrow at Julien’s Auctions. The real selling point, other than it’s Marilyn Monroe, is that the photographs have never been seen before! The set was taken by the makeup artist, Allan ‘Whitey’ Snyder, who was a very close friend of Marliyn’s and someone she trusted implicitly. That’s why she’s so relaxed and in such a playful mood in some of them. We can’t stop looking at them! She was just 27 at the time of the photographs were taken. Any estimates as to high the bids will go?

Michelle Williams Vs. Carey Mulligan: Which Pixie Is This Week’s Hotness?

As a short-hair girl myself, I always feel a special kinship with other ladies I meet who dare to shear their flowing locks. So I wonder, too, if this year’s awards season darlings Michelle Williams and Carey Mulligan feel like they’re sisters of a sort, due to their adorable blond ‘dos. Or maybe, as Hollywood is wont to do, they’ve been forced into a rivalry by half-blind casting directors who see them as interchangeable. I hope not, because the Shame and the My Week With Marilyn stars are both awesome in unique ways. But, contrarily, we decided to promote a different kind of rivalry, by making you vote for them in this week’s Hotness poll.

We’ll get plenty more chances to see future Mrs. Daisy Buchanan Carey and the all-American Dawson’s Creek alum Michelle in the coming weeks, since they’re both nominated for, like, everything, beginning with the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards tomorrow night — head over to CriticsChoice.VH1.com at 6 p.m. ET to see if they’re walking the red carpet. But in the meantime, peruse this gallery of the two lovely ladies and vote!

Michelle Williams Shines At My Week With Marilyn Screening

This is hands down, the best we’ve ever seen Michelle Williams look. We really could not stop gushing when we saw her pictures. The actress was at a screening of her movie My Week With Marilyn yesterday, at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. She wore this elegant pale gold Oscar de la Renta strapless dress with Jimmy Choo heels, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and a Cartier ring, or what we’d like to call “the fab four.” This is exactly what we would wear if we had a tiny waist, great shoulders and perfect cheekbones. The gold number works perfectly with her hair and makeup too (and we really want to know what she does to make her skin glow like that). We love it when great fashion hits us on a Monday. It totally drives the blues away.

Gentlemen Prefer Michelle Williams In My Week With Marilyn Trailer

The trailer for Michelle William’s My Week With Marilyn has arrived, and the Blue Valentine actress winks, dances and femme fatales it up with the best of them as America’s most iconic blonde. At least we can all agree, they got the wig right. They got the wig perfect. The film, due out November 4, follows the late great actress as she films The Prince and the Showgirl in England, feuds with co-star Sir Laurence Olivier and asks a production assistant to get her more than just coffee, if you get our drift. You … get our drift, right?

In case you weren’t feeling like watching Michelle Williams most likely kill it as Marilyn, the studio covered their bases by throwing in some skinny dipping, Emma Watson and of course Dame Judi Dench, the human equivalent of a skinny-dipping scene, talent-wise. Based solely on the trailer, do you think Michelle is looking at an Oscar nom, or is the only good part of the movie going to be those (admittedly excellent) wigs? The line “Excuse my horrible face” makes us think Michelle stands a good chance of getting a statuette.

One More Look At Michelle Williams As Marilyn Monroe

Earlier this month, we posted the Vogue cover that had Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. She’s going to be starring in the upcoming biopic My Week With Marilyn that’s all about the filming of Monroe’s 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl. Ever since that cover, we’ve been itching to see more photographs. Michelle Williams is the consummate actress, but pulling off Marilyn is something we feel even the best would find hard to handle. This new shot of Michelle as Marilyn in the water is breathtaking though, putting any tiny doubts we had to rest. What do you think? We know many of you are diehard Monroe fans so let us know what your thoughts are through the poll below!

Michelle Williams Transforms Into Marilyn Monroe For Vogue Cover

Sorry Lindsay, but Michelle Williams’ Marilyn Monroe Vogue cover is all the modern Marilyn we need. Starring in the upcoming biopic My Week With Marilyn about the tumultuous filming of Monroe’s 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl, Michelle looks eerily similar to the Some Like It Hot actress for the magazine’s cover. So much so that Megan Fox is currently sprinting to a tattoo parlor with a copy as we speak.

In addition to looking gorgeous as a platinum blond (which we already knew) and revealing how she had to wear padding to create the Seven Year Itch stars’ curves (Michelle pragmatically notes, “So at some point it became a question of, Do I want my face to look like Marilyn Monroe’s or my hips?”), Williams’s Vogue cover is also a reminder that the woman is nothing if not a consummate actor. “It felt like being reborn,” Williams tells her interviewer about playing the film icon. “It felt like breaking my body and remaking it in her image, learning how she walked and talked and held her head.” Feel free to start your Oscar nomination countdown clocks…now. Wait…okay, now.
