Dress-Off: Who Was Prettier In Pink?

Natalie Portman and Alicia Keys both pinked out on the red carpet tonight, making the Oscars extra girly. Color aside their gowns were eerily similar, so we have to ask – which do you like better? Natalie sparkled, while Alicia’s showed off some leg. But, just like the Academy Awards, there can only be one winner! Tell us who you think deserves the statue for best pink dress of the night.  [Photo: GettyImages]

The Slumdog Millionaire Kids Can’t Stop Being Adorable

What else is there to say about the child stars of Slumdog Millionaire? They somehow transformed a movie about the rough reality of life on Mumbai’s mean streets into a flick cuter than Wall-E. Sure, the director and producers may get all the credit tonight if the film wins Best Picture, but the world knows they owe it all to the kids.

The pre-pubescent Indian actors hit up Hollywood this week in celebration of the Academy Awards tonight; check them out in all their precious glory below. [Photo: WireImage]

Fashion Face-Off: The Ladies Of Music

Sure, the Oscars are mostly a night for actors to get together and celebrate their work while bitterly judging each other silently. But every year some singers sneak into the party, and tonight all of the songstresses on the red carpet have performed on film as well. Miley Cyrus has The Hannah Montana Movie under her belt, Alicia Keys starred beside Scarlett Johansson in The Nanny Diaries, Beyonce rocked it in Dreamgirls and Queen Latifah was Oscar-nominated for her work in Chicago.

But which of these muli-talented working girls brought her A-game to the Oscars tonight? Peep the pics of them on the red carpet and pick your favorite of this Fashion Face-Off!  [Photos: GettyImages]

Hollywood Gossip Dispatch: Mickey Rourke Dedicates Spirit Award To Deceased Dog

We knew he would do it. Mickey Rourke snatched up an Independent Spirit award on Saturday night for his role in The Wrestler and dedicated it to his recently deceased chihuahua Loki. In his rambling and humorous acceptance speech, Mickey also gave a shout out to the ladies he has courted on the road to the Oscars and also made a jab at actor Eric Roberts, asking Hollywood big shots to hire him so he could also revive his career. Other winners included James Franco, Melissa Leo for Frozen River, and Penelope Cruz, who thanked director Woody Allen for “letting me be around him.”

Oh, and we’re not sure what’s up with Mickey Rourke’s sloppy red carpet kiss. The recipient of his affection is identified only as a guest. [Photo: WireImage]

EXCLUSIVE Oscars Dispatch: Jen, Angelina No Shows At ‘Night Before’ Party

Guests of the exclusive pre-Oscars Night Before party at the Beverly Hills Hotel last night were sorely disappointed if they were expecting a showdown between Brad Pitt‘s babymama Angelina Jolie and his ex Jennifer Aniston. Both actresses opted out of the star-studded glitzy bash and avoided an awkward run in.

Although Brad’s ladies didn’t show, there was no shortage of celebrities at the event. Leonardo DiCaprio sat at a table with model girlfriend Bar Rafaeli and chatted with pal and Entourage star Kevin Connolly. Although Bar just graced the cover of Sports Illustrated in a teeny-weeny bikini, she certainly doesn’t starve herself to get her sleek figure. Bar was eating like she hadn’t eaten in weeks. The leggy model had almost one of every gourmet dish served at the bash — rapidly poking her fork into each dish and shoving heaping servings of food into her mouth.

In addition to Leo and crew, guests like John Malkovich wandered around the glamorous outdoor bash at the hotel’s pool area, which was covered for the party. Major Hollywood power players like Jeffrey Katzenberg and Harvey Weinstein discussed upcoming projects while Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett cracked jokes. At one point Amy practically wailed at something that Tina said. (Apparently, she’s hilarious off-screen as well as on.)

Although the party had plenty of star power, it was remarkably more low key than last year’s event. No gift bags were handed out and decorations were pared down. The invitation noted “casual attire.” Most men showed up in sport coats or collared shirts, but the women still opted for elegant dresses.

The soiree was not without controversy, as a swarm of protesters assembled in front of the hotel who felt the glitzy bash was not an appropriate use of the Motion Picture and Television Fund’s money — especially considering it just shut down its hospital and nursing home.
