Welcome to Red Carpet Report Card, where the stars are put to the test on their red carpet fashion choices. In today’s episode, Scandalist‘s Fashion 101 teacher Libby Keatinge grades Angelina Jolie on her awards show style. Some lucky Oscar winner could not just go home with a prized statuette, but with an extra million bucks! The makers of Airborne have offered to give 1 million dollars to charity if any of the major winners lugs the product onstage during their acceptance speech.
The offer has been extended to all those in the Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor and Actress category.
Airborne co-founder Robert McDowell said of the big bucks proposal, “It just seemed to me, in this economy, charities are really struggling. It seemed like a good time to reward some charities, and, if it goes through, we’ll be thrilled to provide the funds to the charity.”
Who will bite at Airborne’s million dollar product placement offer? If Brad and Angelina sign up and get the dough, some very lucky orphans might be getting a new school. But if Best Actor nominee Mickey Rourke is the big winner, surely the The Wrestler star will ease the pain of losing “the love of his life” by purchasing a fantastic Chihuahua farm! Loki, the dog Mickey Rourke once called “the love of my life,” passed away on Monday. The eighteen-year-old pet was the daughter of Mickey’s first chihuahua, Beau Jack, who achieved infamy when Mickey dropped out of a movie over the dog being taken out of a scene. Rourke credits Beau Jack for keeping from killing himself during a low period in the ’90s.
Judging from how badly he took Beau Jack’s death in 2002 (“I gave him mouth-to-mouth for 45 minutes before they peeled me off. Depressed? He died at my home, and I didn’t go back for two weeks”), the actor must be pretty down right now. If he wins the Oscar for Best Actor on Sunday, expect one hell of a tribute.
“[Loki]‘s like a giant Xanax, you know? I’m not going to get religious on your ass, but I truly believe God created dogs for a cause. They are the greatest companions a man could ever have.”

It’s the underdog movie that looks like it could pick up Oscars galore this weekend, and Slumdog Millionaire actors Dev Patel and Freida Pinto have become global stars overnight. But reports now claim that far from having just broken up with her “boyfriend,” Indian actress Freida is actually married. It’s claimed she wed Rohan Antao in Goa in 2007, but kept the marriage under wraps to help her Bollywood career.
“Rohan was with her throughout her years as an actress when she was not at all famous. He supported her during the filming of Slumdog and the pair even celebrated the film’s success at the Toronto Film Festival together last year. However, she just stopped calling him around the time of the Golden Globes awards, when the film started to make waves internationally. He is completely shocked at being dumped and is heartbroken,” reports the Daily Telegraph.

Even though she just gave birth to a baby boy less than a week ago, producers of the Oscars ceremony desperately want M.I.A. to perform at Sunday’s Academy Awards, even if it means singing lying down.
“She’s eager to perform,” said Oscars producer Laurence Mark, “We’ve said things like ‘We’re willing to have her enter on a large bed.’ We’ll make it as easy for her as we can.”
AR Rahman, her collaborator on “O Saya,” which is nominated for Best Original Song, insists M.I.A. is enthusiastic about being a part of the ceremony. “She wants to. In fact, she said she’ll do it with a hologram. She has all these ideas,” AR said.
If anyone can do it, it’s certainly M.I.A. This is the same woman who performed at the Grammys on her due date – and then popped out her baby boy just hours after her performance. She recently blogged that her baby boy was “the most amazing thing on the planet.”
