Oscars 2013: Adele, Ben Affleck And Jennifer Lawrence Keep It Real By Putting Their Emotions On Display

The Oscars are too fancy shmancy for anyone to walk on stage with their “Thank You’s” written out on a tiny piece of scrap paper or, even worse, read from the winner’s iPhone. Instead, Oscar attendees tend to have carefully thought out shout outs that get straight to the point. That said, every so often, moments of real, actual emotion break through, which make stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Adele and Ben Affleck shine more than their exquisitely prepared peers. Read more…

Oscars 2013: 10 Things You Didn’t See On TV That Happened On The Red Carpet

9 Things You Didn't See On TV At The 2013 Oscars

Watching events on television will never be as good as seeing it live and in person. Sure, not having to wear pants is definitely a bonus. But over-produced glam-extravaganzas miss the small sights, sounds and smells (lots of smells) that give life its true favor. That’s probably why award shows can occasionally be (eeek) a little bland. Luckily, we were there live on the front lines of the 2013 Oscars red carpet to pick up all the great moments that might have slipped away from the camera’s lens. From Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence‘s cute bonding moment, to Nicole Kidman’s (awesome) perfume, head under the jump to check out 10 of our very favorite!

Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway: Is Back Jewelry A New Oscars Thing?

Jennifer_Anne_Oscars

So, Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway had another thing common at the Oscars other than looking beautiful and winning Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress, respectively. No, Jennifer did not spawn an entire twitter account about nipples, like Anne did. They both wore rather unusual accessories with their gowns — back necklaces. That is, necklaces that drop down over the back, rather than the front. Jennifer — seen on the left — chose a fine, minimal Chopard necklace that flowed down over the back of her Dior Haute Couture ball gown. Anne’s Prada column was buffed up by a chunky floral necklace from Tiffany & Co. that graced her shoulders and was centered between her shoulder blades. Is this a thing now? Do you agree with this trend or should it be thrown into the fashion rejects bin?

Oscars 2013: Kristen Stewart, Quentin Tarantino And More Of The Worst Dressed

WorstDressed

After two Bond songs and one adorable, award-winning fall, the Academy Awards are (finally) over. While many of tonight’s winners might celebrate by spilling shrimp cocktail and one too many glasses of champagne all over their haute couture, there were plenty of stars who showed up to tonight’s shindig already looking like a hot mess.

Oscars 2013: Kristen Stewart Shows Up To The Oscars On Crutches

Kristen Stewart Crutches

It really hasn’t been K-Stew’s year, has it? Of course, we have nothing but mad love for Kristen Stewart, but she made some waves when she showed up at the Oscars tonight sporting a pair of crutches and, more disturbingly, an unexplained bruise on her arm.

Oscars 2013: Jennifer Hudson Takes It To Church With “And I’m Telling You”

j-hud

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has the kind of vocals that could make the firmest non-believer walk down the aisle of a sanctuary to get their soul saved. Her voice alone will bring even the sinners to Jesus. Remember this is the woman who did not win American Idol. At the Oscars, though, she won big for stealing the show with one of the highlight moments of the night.  Read more…

Oscars 2013: For Only Third Time In History, We Have A Tie

Tie-Oscars

When actor Mark Wahlberg announced a tie for the winner of best sound editing the Oscars attendees thought it was a joke. “No, I’m not kidding,” Wahlberg said. It was true. For only the third time in the history of the Academy Awards, two people would take home an Oscar for the same category.  Read more…

Oscars 2013: Anne Hathaway’s Nipples Upstage Anne Hathaway’s Best Supporting Actress Victory

Anne Hathaway's Nipples

From the very first moment that word began leaking out about Anne Hathaway‘s powerhouse performance of “I Dreamed A Dream” in Les Miserables, she became a heavy favorite to win her very first Oscar. However, from the very first moment that she stepped onto the red carpet of the Academy Awards tonight, the only thing that people could concentrate on were the way that her Prada gown put her not-unfamiliar nipples on display.

Oscars 2013: Jennifer Hudson Gives Oscar Advice To Quvenzhane Wallis

Our Oscar Night Live red carpet special just wrapped, but just moments before it did, the most adorable red carpet moment of the night went down right in front of our cameras. Oscars 2013: Ooooh La La, Red Carpet Arm Candy

lead-oscars

On the biggest night of the year for film there are two rules: show up stylish and bring a date that matches your fly. Before the night’s wins and epic/not so epic speeches, the stroll down the red carpet is one of the most important moments of the night. Who is on your favorite actors’ arms matters. A celebrities arm candy is, well, an extension of themselves. Halle Berry could never show up with a man who looks anything less than so perfect that he looks handcrafted by God himself. And if George Clooney showed up with a lady with a messy bun and a scantily clad dress (which he did not) he’d quickly find himself fodder for salacious headlines. Without further ado get into all the arm candy that graced the red carpet.
