If there’s one thing fans know about game show host and comedian, Billy Eichner, it’s that he’s a huge Meryl Streep fan. He’s gone on record about just how amazing she is, sat two feet away from her when she was guest on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and even getting into a screaming match with one of his contestants over who was better: Meryl Streep or Glenn Close. Needless to say, that kind of fandom means Eichner must know a lot about the Oscar-winning actress. While at PaleyFest 2014 for the Parks and Recreation chat with Retta and his other co-stars, VH1’s Kate Spencer put Eichner on the spot in what we like to to call “Billy on the Streep.”
Parks and Recreation‘s Donna aka the terribly funny Retta is probably Twitter’s funniest live-tweeter. Each week the actress blesses fans with shocked reactions, quick wit and unforettable commentary. When VH1’s Kate Spencer bumped into her on the red carpet of the PaleyFest 2014, the ultimate TV fan festival, she tested Retta’s Twitter knowledge of the show and had her provide one-word and one-tweet reviews. She offers up thoughts on Orange is the New Black, Scandal and The Walking Dead. And let’s be real, hearing Retta review each show is just like watching her live feed on Twitter. She’s exactly the person you want to watch TV with because she knows exactly how you feel.
Orange Is The New Black is a show that tows the line between hilarious and heavy, but off-camera its actors always seem to be having a ball. And usually said ball involves dancing around in between takes a la Laverne Cox (Sophia) or watching Danielle Brooks (Taystee) take selfies.
