In “Now That I’ve Found You,” Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald perfectly capture the bliss of being newly wed: “I love you sleeping with your socks on/ I love you laughing in our house,” they croon together, him in his Rod Stewart-esque voice, her with a soft country sound. You absolutely get the feeling it was recorded by two people in that stage of their relationship where they can’t stand to be apart for a minute, so they start picking up each other’s work and pastimes. And to hear Nikki talk about it, that’s exactly what it was.
“We just wrote it and recorded it all in this whirlwind week, and we discovered that we love working together,” she told TheFABlife. “And that’s really great. I don’t know if it’s true, but I read this statistic that couples that stay together are the ones that can create together, and to know that you can do that with someone is pretty cool.”
“Gosh, I don’t want to be recorded as saying I want to be in the soundtrack, but that would be incredible,” she laughed. Listen to the song after the jump, and let us know what you think in the comments! Read more…
OK, it might not be the wedding, but we bet Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald‘s a private ceremony on Sunday, was every bit as romantic as Edward and Bella’s. (And nowhere near as scary as Rosalie’s last encounter with her evil fiancé.)
“We couldn’t be happier!” Reed, 23, told Us Weekly of the wedding, which took place at a private ranch in Malibu in front of 100 guests. According to E!, Spy Kids star Alexa Vega was the maid of honor, and Paul performed a few songs with his band.
The Twilight vamp and the American Idol finalist just met in March, but they’ve sounded completely with each other in every interview.
“I love her to death,” he told MTV News back in June. “She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other; when you know you know and she’s the one.”
“He’s the one. He’s the one,” Nikki similarly gushed to E! when they announced their engagement.
Nikki Reed gushed to E!’s Marc Malkin that boyfriend Paul McDonald is “the one.” Sources also confirmed that the actress and the American Idol reject are for reals engaged. Of course we immediately checked out her ring finger and there is, indeed, some bling. So – is this Nikki’s engagement ring? What do you think of the news that the couple is gettin’ hitched?
Scotty McCreery is the new American Idol! The teenaged country singer beat Lauren Alaina to win the the title which capped off a spectacular show. The two hour Season 10 finale took place at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and they really packed in as much as they could. Beyonce dazzled on stage, Jennifer Lopez sparkled in a very JLo-esque jumpsuit and old and new American Idol contestants turned up in hordes. Like Sanjaya Malakar — remember him? A lot of this seasons contestants got to sing with their idols like Tony Bennett, Tim McGraw, Tom Jones, Judas Priest …. and Lady Gaga! Jack Black rocking out? Classic!
But more than anything, we were just happy to see some of our contestants and winners of past American Idol’s. Adam Lambert who was so glam it hurt, Allison Iraheta, Jason Castro (with his preggers wife Mandy Mayhall), Kris Allen… the list goes on. We’ve put a gallery of arrivals at the event so you can memory check everyone who came. Congratulations, Scotty! Can you believe he’s just 17? What a massive moment for country music.
Nikki Reed has wrapped on Breaking Dawn and is now focused on her latest role: girlfriend to rejected American Idol Paul McDonald. We spotted the pair in the audience of last night’s show looking all cuddle-y and close and they were later seen leaving the Troubador together hand in hand. They must be in love as Nikki seems to have coordinated her bag with Paul’s…what is that, a handkerchief? Oh, dudes and their “style.” LOLs forever, amirite ladies?
We’re gonna assume Nikki’s recent trip down to Huntsville, Alabama had something to do with Paul too – after all that’s where the guy is from. Is there anything more timeless than the love between a Southern rocker and his Hollywood gal pal? They’re totally the new Gregg Allman and Cher, guys! But with a happier ending, we hope.
