2012 Top 15 Most Daring Thigh Baring Celebrity Gowns

Sexy, often scandalous, and forever sensational — throw in a thigh-high slit into your gown and you’re going to get completely eyeballed. The more daring the cut, the more looks it’s going to get, so you know that celebrities love this major red carpet trend. 2012 has been the year for thigh-baring gown slits as our stars went all out to show as much leg as possible. Most of your most beloved ladies and ours opted for the style, so we decided to pick the top 15 most incredible leggy gown moments and rank them. We’ll start with number 15 and work our way up to numero uno. 15. Sophia Bush: The actress went all out and showed some slinky leg while wearing an orange David Meister Signature dress. She accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Daniel Swarovski clutch. If there’s any place to take the fashion plunge  — or cut — it was definitely at the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards after party at the Boom Boom Room in June in New York City.

14. Kristen Stewart: Kristen rocked it and rocked some leg in a gorgeous golden Elie Saab dress with Christian Louboutin shoes at the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Germany Premiere at CineStar in November, 2012 in Berlin.

13. Jada Pinkett Smith: Jada Pinkett Smith showed just how toned her legs are in a bright orange Atelier Versace gown and Jimmy Choos at the Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted premiere during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival in May.

12.  Carrie Underwood: Did we expect to see Ms. Carrie Underwood’s very shapely leg in her Abed Mahfouz couture chiffon gown at the 47th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards in Vegas in April, 2012? Not at all, which is what made it even more awesome.

11. Beyonce: Beyonce isn’t just all about being bootylicious. She’s pretty darn leggy as well, as was proved by her gorgeous Stephane Rolland gown at the 2012 BET Awards held in July in L.A. this year!

10. Miranda Kerr: This supermodel has legs for miles, which is what brough her to the number 10 spot on our list. And her bronzed Collette Dinnigan gown showed them off to perfection at the 2012 AACTA Awards in Sydney in July.

9.  Kat Graham: Kat Graham’s gams were a force to be reckoned with in her Maria Lucia Hohan gown at the MTV Movie Awards in L.A. Angeles, in June, 2012.

8. Kim Kardashian: Kim Kardashian klassed it up at the 2012 amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS benefit during the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival in May this year. But not too much, because her mustard Elie Saab gown had a daring double slit that showed off those legs!

7. Nicole Scherzinger: Why hello, Nicole’s leg. Please to meet you. The singer showed off her shapely stems in a Cengiz Abazoğlu dress with Giuseppe Zanotti heels at the U.K. premiere of Men in Black 3 at Odeon Leicester Square in May, 2012 in London.

6. Rihanna: Ri-Ri was all about the leg in her minimal Giorgio Armani custom gown at the Stella McCartney Special Presentation in London in February this year.

What can we say about these two stunning women, apart from it’s on! The two ended up wearing precious metal at different premieres and we were curious to see who you think won the battle of the dresses. First up, we have Malin Akerman who is looking better than she ever has in this silver Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti dress which she wore to the Rock of Ages Stockholm premiere. Malin kept everything else silver too, accessorizing with sexy Jimmy Choo heels, House of Lavande Vintage jewelry and a tiny Judith Leiber clutch. Loving the berry lips and nails with the wavy, blond, open hair.

On the other hand, we have Penelope Cruz who went a hundred percent diva at the To Rome With Love premiere at the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival. And she went totally gold. We’re loving the Roman inflections of the toga-esque Michael Kors shimmering gold gown. Hello, legs. Add to that a gold belt, gold heels and gold jewelry and we’ve got ourselves one golden goddess. The nude makeup is ace, but we’re not too sure about the slicked back hair, but that’s a minor quibble. But is this the case of the gilded lily? Is it too much, or just right? Same with Malin. Did she go overboard with the silver, or get the right balance? You’re going to have to let us know.

Penelope Cruz wore this Dolce & Gabbana suit at the Venuto al Mondo photocall during the 6th International Rome Film Festival yesterday. The whole look — from the the single-breasted martini jacket, to the snowy white shirt buttoned up to her neck to those close-toed clunky shoes — could be severe. Yet somehow, she makes it look as feminine as a Grecian gown, with that flowing chestnut hair and smile. How does she do it? Penelope Cruz Discusses Johnny Depp’s Long Legacy Of Fart Pranks

When you think about Johnny Depp the actor, what words come to mind? Eccentric genius? Talent of a generation? How about giggling seventh grade boy? “I guess everyone knows he has a fart machine?” asked Cruz, before discussing Johnny Depp’s fart machine during her interview on Jimmy Kimmel. “He fooled me once when we were doing Blow. I was doing a very dramatic close-up, and he kept making that sound with the machine … I was just thinking, ‘I hope they’re not thinking it’s me.’ ” So this whole time we could have been enjoying Blow for the dramatic performances AND the sounds of explosive flatulence? That Depp had vision.

If you thought maturity and his commitment to the craft would temper Depp’s childish tendencies, well, you’d be delightful wrong. “When I met him 10 years ago, he had a plastic [fart machine], and now, 10 years later, he has one with a remote control,” Cruz,  co-starring with Depp in Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides, said. After fooling Jerry Bruckheimer, Johnny insisted on breaking faux wind in front of director Rob Marshall, pretending to be sick…all day. Penelope Cruz Auctions Off Couture Gowns For Haiti

She brought in the cash! Penelope Cruz auctioned off couture gowns worn on the red carpet for Haiti. And get this… they raised $333,000. The auction happened in Cannes, and they helped raise funds for  Sean Penn‘s Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization.

Plenty of celebrities stepped up to donate their gowns. The lovely stylish ladies included Scarlett Johansson, Diane Kruger, Charlize Theron,Naomi Watts, Marion Cotillard, Demi Moore, Gisele Bundchen, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow. Salma Hayek Pinault got top marks. She wore the first gown from the brand new Gucci Première couture label for a screening of Robin Hood last week. One bidder was so enamored that he paid 17,000 euros – the equivalent is approximately $ 21,000 – for it.

Multiple tabs are reporting that Vicky Cristina Barcelona co-stars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz are secretly engaged. “They’re telling friends they will get married,” the Daily News quotes one pal, while debunking this summer’s pregnancy rumor in the very next paragraph. Ah well, out with one rumor, in with the next.

The pair—who seem to hook up every time they’ve co-starred in a film, starting with Jamon, Jamon in 1992, have yet to even confirm they’re even still dating, but Us Magazine also has a friend swearing the knot is fit to be tied. “They tried to keep it very private and quiet,” says the source. Way to help, buddy! How long before everyone says she’s pregnant again?

Penelope: “Cruzing” Out Early To Avoid Orlando Bloom?

Penelope Cruz dipped out early from the Hollywood Dominoes Party she was hosting Monday night in Cannes, and reports suggest it was to avoid her ex Orlando Bloom and his model girlfriend Miranda Kerr.

Penelope, who dated Orlando after splitting with Tom Cruise in 2006, allegedly didn’t want any awkward run-ins with her ex. Penelope reportedly sneaked out when no one was looking during the A-list bash to avoid any encounter.

Penelope Recovers, Almodovar Talks Oral Sex

After a bout with food poisoning, Penelope Cruz emerged on Tuesday evening to attend the Cannes Film Festival premiere of Broken Embraces – but director Pedro Almodovar‘s comments about oral sex may have made her and a few others sick!

“I play all the roles on set. In a film I made a long time ago, I even performed cunnilingus on an actress to show the actor how to do it,” Pedro said.

Needless to say, the director’s film about a tragic love affair between an actress and a director was well received by the audience in the packed theater. The film is up for the coveted Palme d’Or prize, to be handed out Sunday, but Pedro said he won’t be sticking around ’till then.

Pedro said he will leave on Friday so he won’t give the impression that he is “waiting for an award.”

After the premiere, Pedro, Penelope, and other A-list guests enjoyed a seaside fete in a tented area at the end of the Le Croisette. It was transformed into a Spanish-themed space, with dark reds and greens being the dominant colors and dried flower centerpieces on the tables. Prince Crushes On Salma Hayek In New Song

Prince is using the power of music to let Salma Hayek know just exactly how he feels about her. In a new song, called “Valentina,” named after Salma’s daughter, Prince sings,

“Hey Valentina, tell your mama she should give me a call/When she get tired of runnin’ after you down the hall/And she’s all worn out from those late night feedings/and she’s ready for another rock n’ roll meeting”

But Salma, who is super busy being married and breast feeding the world’s hungry, is likely not available. That’s OK, though. Prince has a plan B – Salma’s pal Penelope Cruz.
