Can anyone play character roles better than Meryl Streep? We don’t think so. She’s taking on the role of Margaret Thatcher in the film The Iron Lady which premiered in London yesterday, and we can already hear Oscar chimes. She’s already nominated for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards (next Thursday on VH1!), SAGs and Golden Globes. Will this film do what The Queen did for Helen Mirren? We have a strong feeling it will. Meryl looked absolutely lovely at the event. We can’t find fault with the hair and makeup, and we also covet the actress’ skin. Just look it at. It’s completely taut and glowing. And while we love seeing her in gowns, we’re also loving this royal blue and black tailored ensemble on her. She’s wearing a black dress and boots underneath, accessorized with gold jewelry — props for the tribal gold necklace. Bravo!

The premiere for We Bought a Zoo happened last night in New York. The two leading ladies of the film — Scarlett Johansson and Elle Fanning — both looked lovely, but could not have been more different sartorially. Granted there are quite a few years between them, but we know Elle’s going to carry on being on the outré side of fashion with brands like Rodarte and Marc Jacobs already casting her in their campaigns.
Scarlett looks equally at home in designer wear, but can’t help looking like a bombshell in everything she puts on. No exceptions for this black Dolce & Gabbana frock that showed off a sliver of skin right underneath the bodice. Elle, on the other hand, looked very fashionable but very sweet in this ivory Louis Vuitton dress and heels. They may be poles apart, but which pole do you prefer?

The whole cast of Immortals came out to play at the premiere of the film, held yesterday in L.A. Freida Pinto was murderously chic in a metallic, textured Antonio Berardi gown. Henry Cavill, the lead in the movie, wore a suit that barely contained his Superman physique. Isabel Lucas looked slender and very pretty in a Roksanda Ilincic dress while a suited-up Kellan Lutz held on tight to new girlfriend, Sharni Vinson.
Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Mickey Rourke and Joseph Morgan rounded off the cast. Joseph, FYI, plays our favorite new badass vamp on The Vampire Diaries and his co-star Claire Holt was at the premiere, as well. Also spotted were 50 Cent, Nia Vardalos, Estella Warren, Audrina Patridge and Kristin Cavallari. Browse the gallery below to watch them strut their stuff on the red carpet.

Oh, Amanda Seyfried, you gorgeous thing, you. She confounds us in these pictures taken at U.K premier for In Time in London last night. We think that formal shorts are the devil. They should not exist because as a concept, they’re just wrong. There should be nothing formal about shorts, fashion world. And here we have Miss Amanda who not only puts on the offensive garment but pairs them with a matching tailored tuxedo jacket, both by H&M. And this fact has obviously not escaped you — they’re electric blue. What’s even worse is that Amanda is totally working it with her shiny hair, pert behind and amazing gams. That’s why we’re so grumpy. Anyone who makes us believe that formal shorts should be allowed into wardrobes, could not be our friend. Except if it’s Amanda. Call us.
Slap some sense into us, folks. We’re so confused now!
Justin Timberlake’s In Time, opening in theaters next Friday, might feature him rushing to escape a pack of corrupt future time cops, but ain’t no sci-fi premise in the world can save the light beige suit/chocolate shirt/navy tie combo he rocked at last night’s In Time premiere in L.A.. While co-star Amanda Seyfried and stars like Olivia Wilde managed to look like they could stop a clock, Timberlake’s suit somehow appears to be from late ’70s and early 1990s at the same time. It’s like a time traveling outfit, but looks bad in every era! What do you think of Justin’s premiere look?
We get it, Jessie J. You forgot that we already have a Nicki Minaj and a Lady Gaga! And they do whatever it is that you’re doing with a lot more conviction. The singer wore this to the premiere of Demons Never Die yesterday in London. We’re guessing she was trying to go for the WTF effect with the bodice of her skin-toned and turquoise piped top. Like – ohhh, those can’t be her Jessie J’s, can they? Thankfully, they’re not, and while she may be covered up, the outfit is tacky central. Especially those spangly panelled tights. The only thing we would salvage are those gold brogues. But they belong to a completely different outfit! Tsk, Tsk.
What a day for premieres it was yesterday. Crazy, Stupid Love was on as well as — and this is the one we’ve been waiting for — Captain America: The First Avenger debuting on the other coast in Hollywood. We’re totally digging ChrisSquared. Chris Evans killed it in his suit, and Chris Hemsworth looked adorable alongside wide Elsa Pataky. Which is all sweet and very spouse-ly of him but can we please have some solos, bro? And then there’s Robert Downey Jr who can put on all the crazy suits and glasses he wants to, but we’ll still adore him!
The women were repp’d by a stunning Zoe Saldana who seems to have legs for miles. We’re just not feeling Vanessa Hudgens hair (yes, we know it’s for a role), but more of that in our next post. Jamie Alexander looked pretty edible in her red gown too. Also spotted were very dapper looking Dominic Cooper and Sebastian Stan. Samuel L. Jackson was, well — Samuel L. Jackson. If you want to see them up close, flip through our gallery.

That’s twice in one week for Emma Stone and the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. She was just there for the premiere for Friends With Benefits (photos) looking fab in a contrasting Giambattista Valli dress, and she’s knocked it out of the ball park again at the Crazy, Stupid Love event. We love that Tom Ford dress on her and it toally helps that she’s wearing Christian Louboutin pumps and that Ferragamo clutch. She strutted alongside Ryan Gosling who looked spry in a suit that made us even bigger fans of the Baby Goose.
The movie has a pretty stellar cast with Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Kevin Bacon acting alongside Gosling and Stone. And also Analeigh Tipton who’s turned out to be the luckiest America’s Next Top Model ex-contestant of them all! Also spotted — a super skinny Jonah Hill and the Baldwin brother who isn’t Alec or William! Where was the Bacon during the premiere, though? Oh well, our gallery’s pretty cool regardless of him being in it or not.

This red carpet looked like a bunch of fun! The Friends With Benefits premiere took place in New York City last night, at the Ziegfeld theatre and the whole cast looked like they were having a complete blast. Mila Kunis looked stunning in red Lanvin and clowned around with an equally gorgeous Emma Stone wore a contrast red-and-pink Giambattista Valli. Justin Timberlake always wears suits brilliantly and this time was no exception. Mila and he look like they have genuine chemistry, FYI. Jenna Elfman, also wore strapless white and can we ask how tall this woman is? We get high heels, but she just towers over everyone!
The premiere brought in a host of other famous faces too. Everyone from sexy Irina Shayk to Gayle King to Gossip Guy, Matthew Settle and bombshell starlet Emmanuelle Chirqui showed up. But one arrival has become possibly our favorite random guest of all time. Michael Bolton! Michael Bolton, you guys! Which means you totally have to take a look at our gallery.

The Deathly Hallows premiered in New York last night and we couldn’t help but sniff a little looking at all the pictures. Each premiere means we’re inching gradually towards the end. A lot of the tertiary characters didn’t show up for the event but our main squeezes did. After wearing a dreamy Oscar de la Renta to the London premiere, Emma Watson chose a Bottega Veneta gown, Giuseppe Zanotti platform peep toe heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry for the NYC leg. We’re not totally feeling the look and the harsh make-up, but more on that in our next post. Not much smiling from Emma at this one. She looks like she’s taking this quite emotionally, and we don’t blame her.
Props to Daniel Radcliffe for turning up in Prada as well!  Completely the trio was Rupert Grint who cleaned up quite nicely in his suit as well. He also looked like he had taken a brush to his hair and what a difference that made! Alan Rickman — possibly one of our favorite actors and the only one who could pull off Severus Snape — looked as cool as cool could be. Pulling up the handsome quotient were Tom Felton and Matt Lewis aka Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom. Growing up has agreed with these two. A couple of celebrities also turned up for the premiere. Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker brought their son, James Wilkie. (Note to SJP: Stop putting your son in twee hats.) America Ferrera brought new husband Ryan Piers Williams. Sarah Hyland showed up looking lovely in an LBD, and our happy WTF of the day was Jay Manuel! All-in-all, a pretty successful premiere.
