For those of you who already bought your one-way flight to Barbados to see Rihanna in a soaking wet dress on the beach, we have some bad news. It turns out she’s just shooting an ad campaign for the Barbados Tourism Board; she’s not going to permanently frolic in the waves in an attempt to draw visitors to her native country. We should have guessed; there are only so many hours a person can stand in the ocean in a damp garment before their skin starts to dissolve and they catch pneumonia.
So maybe this is actually good news for you after all! For all we know, RiRi might be posing near a body of water in the U.S. this weekend, and that’ll be a lot more convenient for most of you. Did you buy flight insurance so you can get your money back when you cancel your trip? No? Well…we’re sure Barbados is very nice even when RiRi isn’t frequenting it’s beaches. Probably. Rihanna may have shot promos for the island’s ad campaign yesterday, but she also took time to have a beer with her adorable granddad, as evidence by her Instagram account. So at least we know Grandpa RiRi lives down there! We bet he’ll scamper through he surf with you, but let’s not get crazy. The man is still a grandpa.

There’s court drama happening and for once it’s not about Lindsay Lohan! This particular bout is going down between Rihanna and her former trainer, Cindy Percival. The nasty legal battle between them started when Percival sued Rihanna last year for supposedly locking her out of $26,144 in unpaid fees and travel expenses which she shelled out to meet the singer all over Europe.
Now, Rihanna has filed a countersuit in L.A. County Superior Court against Percival. She’s claiming the story is full of BS, and that Percival’s the one who stiffed Rihanna out of $26,244.63. Apparently, the trainer was given an advance of $24k for her services, but the money was never returned after she was fired last year. This one’s getting personal!

Rihanna spoke with VH1 this week about her new album, and shared a moving story about how her 20/20 interview helped to save a fan’s life. In her chat with Janell Snowden, Rihanna reveals that after watching her sit-down with Diane Sawyer, a suicidal fan in an abusive relationship called the domestic violence hotline to get help for her and her daughter. The singer says it was “really inspiring for me that she went from thinking about killing herself to moving on with a new life as a single mother.”
RiRi also discusses her new album, calling it “a personal message” that grew from “all real experiences.” Watch above.
Where’s the best place to talk fashion? On the runway, of course! A Jean Paul Gaultier clad Rihanna and fresh-from Russell Brand‘s pad in London Katy Perry swapped fashion tips while sitting across the runway from each other at the designer’s Paris fashion show. “I love your jacket,” Katy told Riri while sitting across from each other in the front rows at the show. Rihanna smiled back and pointed towards the backstage where Jean Paul was before the show began.
Katy, Rihanna, as well as Dita Von Teese and French screen legend Catherine Deneuve took in the designer’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which resurrected Madonna’s 80’s cone bra and featured silk peach jackets paired with glittery black and white leggings, green silk trenchcoats, and all denim jumpsuits, and long flowy orange and white dresses. “Gaultier was FAB!” Dita wrote on her Twitter after the show. “Lots of new ways to wear luscious peach satin circle-stitched bullet bras. LOVED IT!”
“TRUE!” Katy Twittered back.
Luckily for TheFABlife, we nabbed a coveted front row seat after an usher grabbed us from the standing section and placed us in an empty seat right in the front row, where we could see all the action from the best row in the house, right across from Janet Jackson, who smiled when the DJ played her late brother Michael Jackson‘s song “Bad”! It MUST have been the crushed velvet Margi Kent dress and Tuleste jewels we were wearing. After the show, France 5 even interviewed us about our opinion of the show. Magical! [Photo: Getty Images]
