The Full 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Report

The 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards took place last night at Lincoln Center in New York City. The show saw some serious fashionista traffic, but we have to admit we expected it to be a tad more A-List. Still, can’t complain with the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio in a red-hot Prabal Gurung dress and Liv Tyler in an unusual Proenza Schouler silk printed sheath. Both ladies showed a fair amount of back! We also loved Kerry Washington‘s simple white A-Line Calvin Klein dress and Lucy Liu‘s dramatic black Monique Lhuillier gown. Miranda Kerr looked heart-stoppingly sexy in her black Michael Kors skirt and cut-out body suit. But the big winner of the night was Lady Gaga who scooped up the Fashion Icon Award, bringing her sister Natali Germanotta as her date.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of fashion fails as well. Chloe Sevigny looked like she had forgotten to do up the top of her leather ruffle eyelet blouse from her own collection. Marcia Cross wore an inexplicable Pamella Roland blue sequined halter jumpsuit and Naomi Watts looked generically pretty but very blah in her Calvin Klein gold dress. We also love us some Ashley Greene but she just wasn’t working her two-tone Michael Kors dress, like a pregnant Jessica Alba worked the same trend in DVF. Perhaps it’s because Ashley’s clunky shoes were all wrong. One look at Gerard Butler in his snug, extremely well-cut suit, and all was well again. 9021 Oh No She Didn’t

90210 star Shanae Grimes must have shacked up with some hottie and didn’t want to put on the same skanky dress she wore out the night before, so she grabbed one of his flannels and threw it over her black lacy tights and brown boots – because otherwise, there is really no excuse to be wearing this outfit to go shop for home furnishings. The pantsless wonder was spotted wearing this original getup while shopping at Pier 1 Imports in Hollywood, CA. Check out our gallery of Shanae’s no pants ensemble. [Photos: INF]

90210 Star Fights Back ‘Too Skinny’ Label

90210 star and rumored on-set diva Shanae Grimes took to her blog to fight back media attacks on her weight and smoking habit.

The actress says, “Now, as you all know now probably, I graced my first major magazine cover, only to be called “too skinny” alongside my co-star Jessica Stroup. I would like to say once again that neither me or Jessica have issues with our weight or bodies. I happened to be very small built, and ive always been skinny. So I personally think that people need to stop criticizing everyone in the media these days about their issues. Im sure you wouldnt like it if someone pointed out all of your flaws and all of your mistakes… but thats what the media does to us.”

In related news, Shanae, who was recently spotted buying six packs of cigarettes, said of her smoking habit, “I can’t say that I’m proud of it, but there are so many people struggling with the addiction nowadays. I started smoking at about 16, and 1 in 5 teenagers smoke. I’m not really going to go into the issue, but my hope is that you will all stop hating and get on with it. I smoke. My choice. I’m sorry if you don’t like it, but this is who I am.” [Source:MySpace; Photo:Getty]

Brenda Walsh 2.0

Shannen Doherty may be reprising her role as Brenda Walsh on the new Beverly Hills 90210, but she has some major competition for top trouble maker this time around. Shanae Grimes, who plays Annie Wilson, reportedly is quite the diva on set. Sources tell Page Six that Shanae has been “tormenting everyone on set” and “acts rude to the cast, crew and extras.” The insider claims Grimes even once yelled at an unassuming guest star, “Who the hell are you?” and often spits out comments like “This is my show – everyone else is riding my coattails.” Sounds like the ghost of the hard partying, check bouncing, quickie-marrying, DUI receiving Shannen Doherty is back from the 90s.
