As Brazil takes on Mexico for the men’s soccer gold medal today at 10 a.m. ET, we’re sure you won’t have a problem keeping an eye out for 20-year-old soccer prodigy Neymar Da Silva Santos Junior, commonly known as simply Neymar. Since Americans are traditionally out of the loop with soccer a.k.a. football, here are seven facts to get you acquainted with one of the game’s brightest young stars.
1. At just 11 years old, Neymar joined Brazil’s legendary Santos FC Academy and nearly left at 14 to join Real Madrid, but Santos paid about $495,000 to keep him on his home turf.
2. He has a flair for the dramatic. Neymar’s often criticized for his tendency to dive in hopes of being awarded a foul. Soccer legend Pelé once said (somewhat) in his defense, “He is a player with a body that can’t take a lot of hits. A lot of times he will fall because he can’t do anything else, but he was overdoing it.”
To be fair, he is quite the featherweight at 5’9″ and 132 lbs. And according to this headband – 100% Jesus.
The hint’s on the shoe itself! He’s a famous soccer star who has a famous wife. He just had a baby and his brood’s names are on the cleat itself. If you already haven’t guessed who it is, then look at the names of the kids for more clues. The mystery star’s name is right after the jump. Read more…
Got a case of the Monday grumpies? Feast your eyes on the perfection that is The Beckham Boys. After the LA Galaxy won their last game of the season, David Beckham (thankfully) removed his jersey and gave it to a fan, then welcomed his trio of adorable sons onto the field. Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz dashed to their hero for congratulatory hugs. Daddy Beckham never fails to melt our hearts with his genuine affection for his boys. His pipin’ hot bod ain’t bad either.

OMG! Delicious daddy Cristiano Ronaldo will never live this down. He’s the man, right? Sexy girlfriend, sexy butt, sexy abs, sexy money… young(er) stars like Daniel Radcliffe even want to look like him. But oh, how it’s all changed with one awkward interaction.
Ronaldo strutted into Kenmare in New York City for a spot of dinner wearing a tight black shirt and pale trousers. Everyone knows Ronaldo, of course… he’s one of the most famous soccer players in the world. NOT. A diner apparently blurted out, “Oh, my God, it’s The Situation!”
Let us repeat. Cristiano Ronaldo was mistaken for Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The Situation’s probably going to take time out of his busy schedule hawking muscle-boosters to print this out and put it in his little scrapbook. How sweet!

The world’s most expensive (and gorgeous) soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo is not too happy with Vanity Fair. The Real Madrid star is fuming because he posed for a cover with photographer Annie Leibovitz, which he striped down to his underpants for. To show how ripped he was, something us very grateful folks can see in the Emporio Armani underwear ads he posed for too.
Unfortunately, Vanity Fair put Ronaldo on the cover with a massive rival, the Ivory Coast’s (and equally ripped) Didier Drogba, who’s also a striker for Chelsea FC. Considering what hot property these two are, they’re not exactly the best of friends. Ronaldo’s team, Portugal, is going to take on the Ivory Coast in the opening World Cup match on June 15. And then we’ll have our very own clash of the Titans.
