View Photo Gallery

The weather’s getting warmer and everyone’s concerned about getting in-shape for the summer. Well, almost everyone. Though professional athletes tend to have bodies that most of us plebeians envy when they’re in the prime of their careers, some of them don’t keep it tight after leaving the game. If your fitness and diet routine isn’t going too well, don’t sweat it. Some of the most successful sports stars of all-time have trouble doing the same. Read on for a quick look at a few select Athletes Who Got Fat After Retirement.

Batter Up: 50 Celebrities Throwing Out The First Pitch At Baseball Games

Batter Up: 50 Celebrities Throwing Out The First Pitch

Tonight, the best players in Major League Baseball will face off against one another in the league’s annual All-Star Game. While there will likely be plenty of fastballs and homeruns on display during the Midsummer Classic, we here at VH1 Celebrity had an idea that might help improve the chances that a non-sports fan would tune-in to the game. What if the commissioner introduced a new idea wherein celebrities would throw out the first pitch of every inning, not just a single one before the game started? (We know, we know, it’s a genius idea.)

While that idea (probably?) won’t be implemented this year, here’s hoping that Bud Selig sees this post and makes this change in time for next year’s affair. In the meantime, please check out this hilarious gallery of celebrities —including the likes of Mariah Carey, Barack Obama, Bill Murray, Charlie Sheen and current holder Worst First Pitch Ever™ title holder Carly Rae Jepsen — winding up and attempting to throw a baseball 60 feet and 6 inches.

Super Bowl Super Babes: The Wives, Girlfriends And Cheerleaders Of The Ravens And 49ers Face Off!

The hottest wives and girlfriends of the Super Bowl teams

Football has taught us non-athletes many useful things, like sportsmanship, The Wave, and how to make nachos with “cheez” from a can. But most importantly, it has taught is that if you’re really good at tossing the ol’ pigskin, you get to date some of the hottest women in the world! We were reminded of this phenomenon a few weeks back when we got a glimpse of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron’s gorgeous ladyfriend Katherine Webb in the stadium stands. And as the Baltimore Ravens take on the San Francisco 49ers this weekend, we’re probably going to see a ton of seriously sexy wives and girlfriends in the VIP bleachers, not to mention the cheerleaders on the field! Which Super Bowl team has the hottest ladies rooting for ‘em? Head down to the gallery below to see for yourself, and then cast your vote in our poll!

Jets Coach Rex Ryan Has A Tattoo Of His Wife “Tebowing” In Only A Mark Sanchez Jersey

Jets coarch Rex Ryan shows off new tattoo of wife with Sanchez jersey

New York Jets Coach Rex Ryan showed that he’s unusually devoted to his team as it’s revealed that he has a tattoo depicting a woman -who is reportedly his wife- wearing nothing but a the jersey of his beloved quarter-back Mark Sanchez. If that’s not enough team love for you, the figure appears to be bent in fellow Jet Tim Tebow’s trademark “Tebowing” move. Geez, we hope things don’t go south between Ryan and Sanchez! Although we guess he could turn that number 6 into an 8 pretty easily.

The coach was spotted with his ink while on vacation at Paradise Island in the Bahamas by a New York Daily News photographer. When he saw the camera pointed at him, Ryan reported let out an “Oh s–t,” and ran for the hills. But not before the photog caught the mildly racy image on his upper right arm. Oh yeah, you better believe this make our list of hilariously ill-advised celebrity tattoos. Check out a bunch more in the gallery below!

Neymar, Budding Soccer Superstar, Is Today’s Olympian To Watch

As Brazil takes on Mexico for the men’s soccer gold medal today at 10 a.m. ET, we’re sure you won’t have a problem keeping an eye out for 20-year-old soccer prodigy Neymar Da Silva Santos Junior, commonly known as simply Neymar. Since Americans are traditionally out of the loop with soccer a.k.a. football, here are seven facts to get you acquainted with one of the game’s brightest young stars.

1. At just 11 years old, Neymar joined Brazil’s legendary Santos FC Academy and nearly left at 14 to join Real Madrid, but Santos paid about $495,000 to keep him on his home turf.

2. He has a flair for the dramatic. Neymar’s often criticized for his tendency to dive in hopes of being awarded a foul. Soccer legend Pelé once said (somewhat) in his defense, “He is a player with a body that can’t take a lot of hits. A lot of times he will fall because he can’t do anything else, but he was overdoing it.”

To be fair, he is quite the featherweight at 5’9″ and 132 lbs. And according to this headband – 100% Jesus.

Gabby Douglas Is Today’s Olympian To Watch: Get Acquainted With “The Flying Squirrel”

Gabby Douglas
Before we all put on sleep masks and ear plugs for the day to avoid spoilers about who wins today’s Women’s Gymnastics All-Around Final, let’s take a closer look at one of the favorites. 16-year-old Gabby Douglas flew (quite literally) onto our radar at the Olympic trials, where she edged out reigning world champ and teammate Jordyn Wieber for the #1 spot. At 4’11″, G-Dougs is the shortest shorty on the team, but her presence is huge and we can’t wait to watch her battle it out with fellow superstar Aly Raisman tonight for the gold.

1. Gabby was nicknamed the “Flying Squirrel” by National Team Coordinator/Legend Márta Károlyi for her soaring abilities on the uneven bars.

Michelle Jenneke Shows Off Her Hot Dance Moves, Makes Hurdling Fans Of Us All

Junior Australian hurdler, Michelle Jenneke, has gone viral with a unique dance routine that she performed at the starting line during the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona last weekend. It was definitely an attempt to loosen up before the competition, but probably doubled as a way to distract her opponents in the most hilarious way. We laughed and took a huge sigh of relief when she won. We are so happy to see such enthusiasm! When it comes to athletics, we totally understand the importance of keeping a game face on when on the clock, but beforehand, this made us realize how much fun it is to see an athlete’s unique personality shining through! We really appreciate you kicking off this (what we’d like to be) trend, Michelle. There are tons of athletes that we’d like to see do a special dance for us. And with the Olympics growing nearer (Michelle’s not going, unfortunately), we can only dream. We’re looking at you, Ryan Lochte.

ESPN’s Body Issue Confirms That We Want An Athlete’s Body

ESPN‘s fourth annual Body Issue is out and we are all drooling over this year’s athletes. Honestly, who even knew that the human body was capable of looking like this? The English dictionary needs to seriously be updated to include a word that fully defines just how really, really ridiculously good looking these champions are, because calling them “toned” or “hot” seems like the understatements of the century. Regardless of their sport, from golfing to surfing to running, these athletes show how exercise does miracles for one’s physique and confirm that we all need to really start using our gym memberships…or better yet, purchase a gym membership.

While looking at ESPN‘s photos may make you want to never wear a bikini again, don’t lose all hope: these sports’ superstars actually give us a pretty refreshing view on body image. Rather, viewing their bodies as machines that must perform at the highest level possible, the Olympians seem more accepting of their figures and less concerned about their weight — it’s really refreshing to see bodies in a magazine that aren’t stick thin. Check out what some of these athletes have to say about their bodies. It seems some of them have more than just athletic skill but also have a pretty good knack for inspiring and entertaining us.

Maya Gabeira: “Most women are afraid of being too strong. When you surf, your muscles get bigger, especially your shoulders.”

Danell Leyva: “After I’m done training, all I want to do is eat a huge meal and go to bed. But sometimes I think about trying to get better abs.”

Tyson Chandler: “I’m pretty much a normal person’s size — just stretched out.”

Abby Wambach: “Female athletes are getting very, very thin, but I’m a bigger woman — I have bigger muscles, and that’s OK.”

Maurice Jones-Drew: “I’m a cross between the Hulk and Iron Man.”

Carlos Bocanegra: “We hear from members of the opposite sex that they enjoy our legs.”

Ronda Rousey: “People made fun of my arms and called me ‘Miss Man.’ It wasn’t until I got older that I realized: These people are idiots. I’m fabulous.”

Jose Bautista: “It’s pretty funny that people think I’m supposed to have big arms just because I hit home runs.”

Candace Parker: “The last time I was on the cover [in 2009], I was pregnant, so it’s nice to see the body transform.”

Megan Hodge: “The bodies are different because the positions we have are so different. You have little people, tall people, big, skinny — you have everything.”

Jon Hamm’s Baseball Pants Own Today’s Internet

What’s the word for when you’re swooning, but also you’re shrieking at the top of your lungs at the same time? Shrooning? Swieking? We are swieking with panicked joy over these photos of Jon Hamm at the 2012 Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game yesterday in Kansas City. Our hands are flapping so hard with excitement, we’re about to rocket out the window to Don Draper beard scruff heaven. And if there had been any visible Taco Bell in these photos? Forget about it. We would be lying under this computer in a heap. We know, we know, it’s so embarrassing when we can’t stop ourselves from leering over the Mad Men star, but would you please use your eyes and your soul look at those baseball pants? You. Guys. Good thing we packed our lunch in a paper bag today, seeing as how we need it to hyperventilate into it.

Okay, we’ll reign it it, but seriously, as far as we can tell Jon Hamm is good at everything (everything = looking good while smiling and wearing cleats). The Bridesmaids star joined Modern Family‘s Eric Stonestreet, Glee‘s Chord Overstreet, America Idol‘s David Cook and a bunch of other people who aren’t Jon Hamm for the game, which airs on ESPN tonight. And then…we guess the Internet is over after today? We could keep it going, but that sort of seems like gilding the lily. The lily being Jon Hamm’s baseball pants, obviously.
