Style Seen: Heather Matarazzo, You’re Welcome To Our Dollhouse Anytime

No matter how many awesome roles she’s had in the past 16 years, it’s hard not to think of Heather Matarazzo as her the horribly, heartbreakingly awkward Dawn Wiener in Welcome to the Dollhouse. At the same time, when you see the incredibly poised, pretty and funny 29-year-old now, it’s hard to imagine that she’s the same person. (Though her mannerisms totally recall her second-best teen gig, as smartass Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries.) She stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live this morning to chat about her newest movie Mangus!, which she produced and stars in, and also to share a “shoe whore” moment with Carrie Keagan. We’re pretty sure she downplayed the rest of her outfit so her heels would stand out more.

Style Seen: Tori Amos’ Shoes Probably Could Crucify You

It’s been some time since we used to scream Tori Amos songs at the top of our lungs in our bedroom every time we were mad at our parents/boys/the world, but the powerful singer/songwriter will never lose that place in our hearts. She stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live last week, when her latest tour stopped in New York to promote her new classical music album, Night of Hunters. And we were thrilled to note that the 48-year-old is still as quirky, cool and inspiring as ever. Check out what she wore…

Style Seen: Shailene Woodley In Secret Life Of The American Jeans

When Shailene Woodley stopped by the VH1 offices earlier this week, she told us that she almost exclusively shops at used-clothing stores, wears mostly white T-shirts and jeans, and would be studying massage therapy if she weren’t making waves opposite George Clooney in The Descendants. But 20-year-old the star of The Secret Life of the American Teenager is also a seasoned pro, so she cleaned up nicely — if still maintaining her strictly comfy aesthetic — for her appearance on Big Morning Buzz Live. Check out more of her outfit below.

Style Seen: Chloe Moretz Kicks Ass With Youthful Retro Look

It’s not every day we turn to a 14-year-old for fashion inspiration. But it’s also not every day you run into a 14-year-old like Chloe Moretz, the star of Kick-Ass and Hugo. She’s smart without being obnoxiously precocious, and she acts her age without being annoying. And she dresses that way, too. When she stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live last week, in her gray shoes and stockings under a pair of high-waisted shorts and a black sweater with colorfully beaded flower accents, she was both schoolgirl cute and rockabilly hipster cool. She makes us wish for a teenager to buy presents for this season. Oh, hell, we’ll just buy it for ourselves.

Style Seen: Nick Jonas Saves The Owls

We’ve been kinda busy here in FABlifeland, what with Breaking Dawn and all. But not as busy as Nick Jonas, that’s certain. (In between prepping for his six months on Broadway in How to Succeed in Business… he just picked up an award for his diabetes advocacy at the Disability Rights Legal Center gala in L.A. last night.) So we have to apologize for taking a minute to notice how much we liked the relaxed-but-slightly-blingy look he sported when he stopped by http://www.vh1.com/shows/big_morning_buzz_live/series.jhtml last week. Now we’ll make up for lost time and take a closer look.

Cobra Starship Make Us Feel Like Shopping: Style Seen

When we think of Cobra Starship, we think neon colors and/or sharp suits to match their party-perfect electro-pop sound. And we certainly hope they bring that kind of sartorial energy when they perform at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. But last Friday, when they stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live to talk about Nightshade and eggplant on eggplant violence, they were understandably a little more casual and neutral-colored than usual. And yet still demonstrated that trademark Cobra sense of fun. Let’s take a closer look.

Daughtry, Please Don’t Crawl In This Nice Clothing: Style Seen

As a band, Daughtry have a kind of ninja skill. They sneak past you, quiet and undetected at first, and then all of a sudden you turn around and they’re EVERYWHERE, outselling all those flashier bands. But even in their dark, subdued (ninja) outfits, frontman Chris Daughtry and guitar player Brian Craddock didn’t slip past our photographer, however, when they stopped by for Big Morning Buzz last week to chat about what Daughtry’s doing for VH1′s Save the Music and how family inspired Break the Spell, their new album out on November 21. And now we will examine the outfits that we think captures their everyman rock-star vibe.

VV Brown, We Want This Outfit Very, Very Much: Style Seen

Gorgeous U.K. pop singer VV Brown mixes her sultry, ’60s-era voice with very current tracks to make a unique sound. So it’s not at all surprising that she takes the same approach with her style: vintage and modern blended for a look you won’t see on anyone else. When she stopped by last week to perform “Children” on Big Morning Buzz Live, we very much coveted her fur shrug and quilted dress ensemble. And those zebra-print loafers! Turns out, she knows people want to emulate her style, so she’s actually launching VVvintage.com this winter, which she described to the San Francisco Examiner as an “online fashion store, a vintage boutique that features culture and art, and we also have a design agency where we promote young designers that come straight out of fashion college.” Take a closer look at her style after the jump.

Taio Cruz Gets Seriously Cool For Fall: Style Seen

Taio Cruz‘s “Dynamite” has been heating up clubs and your car stereo for a year and a half now, and it’s still guaranteed to get people jumping up and down and yelling “aaaay-oh!” But the English singer/songwriter/producer is much more than one club banger. And when he stopped by the VH1 offices to chat about his upcoming album, TY.O, on Big Morning Buzz Live, we could help but notice how his style gives him the air of a serious artist. Check out his whole autumn-in-New York ensemble up close after the jump.

Miranda Lambert Is Country Badass: Style Seen

Country superstar Miranda Lambert stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live today to promote her brand-new album Four the Record. But her outfit reminded us more of her side project the Pistol Annies‘ song “Hell on Heels.” While her sequined top does hint at the country music scene’s love of glamor, her beaded leather jacket, tough-girl rings and mile-high strappy platforms make her seem like she’d be at home at a biker bar or Sunset Strip rock club. Even her fashion sense has crossover appeal! Check out the details after the jump.
